  1. No. I don’t accept that. I don’t have to deal with it. Are you saying all forms of discrimination are acceptable within the context of a football match or just casual sexism and misogyny? What an appalling statement.
  2. …and where do you think they learnt it from? This is exactly the point. If we keep singing it, it’ll continue to exist and be passed down to younger supporters.
  3. …(insert current Bristol Rovers manager name here) being a whore? This one gets wheeled out every week from the corner of the south stand and it’s an absolute embarrassment that has no place in football stadiums…or anywhere else in fact. It’s abhorrent. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some of the more good humoured chants levelled at the opposition, but this goes too far for me. Have I sung inappropriate songs at football before? Yes. When I first started attending games as a teenager back in the early 90s I was influenced by what I heard around me and joined in. Do I regret that? Yes. But I was a product of what I was surrounded by…I didn’t know any better. I now take my own son to watch City and whilst I accept there will be plenty of colourful language for him to hear, I make a point of talking loudly to him when chants like this are happening, in attempt to drown it out. I don’t want him to think it’s in any way acceptable to repeat that chant or think it’s ok to level that accusation, whether in jest or otherwise, at a woman. He is taught to respect women and he calls out misogynistic behaviour when he witnesses it. As a club with a successful women’s team and a large number of female supporters, isn’t it about time we stopped this chant?
  4. Not sure if you can just walk in. Bookings can be made via the ticket website under hospitality (although not available to book on the day). £10 per person with tables of up to 10 people. The menu sounds limited…just refers to ‘loaded fries menu’. You might have more luck calling or emailing: ‘To find out more or to check availability please call our events team on 0117 963 0680 or email events@ashtongate.co.uk.’
  5. You get what you pay for I guess. That badge isn’t great is it?!
  6. Wasn’t sure what the VIP option was either. Anyone able to clarify?
  7. I’m fairly confident the club will continue to provide a solution for transferring your seat to a friend if you, as a season ticket holder, cannot attend a game. I’d expect this to require said friend to have a ticketing account with the club and for you as the season ticket holder to contact support services so they can allocate your seat to that friend, issuing them with a print from home/digital ticket for the game.
  8. A quick scan of the rules also states the official club emblem must appear only once on the front of the shirt. Have they massively ballsed up here? Or am I misunderstanding the rules?
  9. I can’t find anything more than this.
  10. So the FA website says this: ‘Under the new rules, if a club wishes to make a material change to its club crest, or change its recognised home shirt colours, it must undertake a thorough and extensive consultation process with supporters. A club must also be able to evidence that a majority of its supporters are in favour of any proposed changes (such as via an independently-run poll of season ticket holders, the club’s Community Benefit Society, and supporters that have attended a certain number of home matches).’ Have we got round this on a technicality by having the badge on the back?
  11. Switch the badges round and have the Robin on the back and I’d be a lot happier with this.
  12. How many times were Pring and Foden subbed off?! ?
  13. Odd that this hasn’t been mentioned on our website? Or have I just missed it? I’m going to be attending Yeovil’s home game on Saturday so will keep an eye on how both of them do.
  14. Hey no worries, had to double check I wasn’t missing it! It’s odd that there’s never any mention of this P&R in any of the Matchday information released by the club. Is that right? The website clearly states an earlier closing time of 22:20
  15. Thanks - but these are for all the other park and ride sites, no mention of Long Ashton.
  16. Ok thanks - so it stays open later on match days?
  17. I see that the park and ride site closes at 22:20 so with an 8pm kick off tomorrow, it’s going to be touch and go (and that’s without the prospect of extra time). Anyone got any experience/knowledge of using this site for evening games? Do they lock the site at 22:20 and that’s it?
  18. Here’s how the table stood after our 0-0 draw with Millwall on 29th December - the start of the current run. Whilst we’ve not been propelled as far as up the league as you’d expect/hope a run like this to achieve, it’s moved us well away from danger, looking up and with positive goal difference. I’m still dreaming of the play offs - one or two more wins with other results going our way and it starts to look more realistic. COYR
  19. Something missing? What, like pain and misery usually associated with watching the men’s team?! I thought it was an exciting, cohesive display of attacking football. Over 30 shots and some great goals.
  20. 76 seats remaining. It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere regardless of who’s filling those seats - a packed Ashton Gate under the lights is a special place to be.
  21. Yeah, really odd that given the limited availability of multiple seats together in the other areas of the ground that were open before these got released. Would have put some people off potentially thinking they couldn’t get seats together.
