If we had a fully-fit squad and I expect us to get three points today. But if the XI that finished the game at Millwall starts today, I’m fearing the worst. Their home record is decent, so I’d take a point right now.

I'm assuming a maximum of two from Semenyo, Baker, Wells, HNM, Dasilva, & Williams might be available.

Martin has looked tired the last two games, and he and Weimann haven't hooked up particularly well.  Andy King might be in for Bakinson? Could we get Scott in? I'm not sure COD is fit to start - and he was off thge pace Wednesday. Britton on the bench?

Who knows. Looking forward to seeing the team ...

Not something I'd ever want to see: You'd probably have to watch "two girls, one cup" to get rid of the image (idle brag: never seen it, never want to).

Do you mean a one off matchday pass?

Ive purchased £140 annual 7 days ago. Do I have any rights to cancel under a cooling off 14 day period or any other legal statute with CC purchases?

    See here

    https://www.gov.uk/online-and-distance-selling-for-businesses/online-selling

The main point seems to be:

If you supply downloads or streaming services, you must:

    • get the customer to confirm before they download or stream content that they are aware they’ll lose their 14 day right to cancel

And it goes on to say

"If you do not follow these rules, the customer will keep their 14 day right to cancel without paying."

So, if the contract terms given (or in the blurb when you purchase the pass)  don't mention this, I'd say* you can exercise your 14 day right to cancel under the online/distance selling regulations.

(*I'm obviously non a lawyer if I'm posting on here, so that's just my opinion ...)

Tommy Tynan - Boxing Day (4-3 win to City - Tynan hat-trick)

You've just triggered a memory, Fevs! I remember all the paper talk being about TT before the game. I've got a memory that it was basically end to end stuff. Lot of Plymouth fans. Proper old school boxing day affair. Was there a pen involved?

I was in 6th form at the time, but I'd have though you're too young to remember this?

This was right in front of me. I thought "No way he's getting there. Oh, he's committed himself, let's hope he makes it. He's going to break a leg, and it might be his own. [Big cheer] . Thank F for that!".

Can see this one being either a 1-1 draw where we defend very well or Fulham are too strong for us and we get stuffed. On paper the toughest game of the season so far and after they lost last week they are going to be up for it.

We could end up defending very deep and not be able to get the ball out. Or NP has a cunning plan to counter attack at pace and get runners in behind their high defensive line.

I'd definately take the draw now.

reids a funny one as he’s born and raised in Bristol and supports Liverpool not city , he also left to Cardiff and knowing a couple of people close to him apparently he has no love for city at all and couldn’t wait for a chance to leave

The dumbfcks can boo if they like but those of us that can think for ourselves and aren't bitter and twisted will give him a clap.

  8. StreamAMG were 100% useless when I had an issue, and will no doubt continue to automatically send boilerplate generic support emails in response to anything sent to the support address. I guess the best option is to use a credit card if you can and make a chargeback if things don't work. You can then use the email you sent to the support address as evidence to the credit card company if the chargeback gets challenged.

This will only help for one-off purchases.

If we apply to be part of the pilot scheme, the club will need to provide some safe standing for away fans too, as that is a requirement of participating in the pilot.

The safe standing areas would then also be marketed as standing areas and it must say this on the ticket. So, fans standing in those areas would no longer be in breach of ground regulations, as they are now - even though standing is currently tolerated in such areas.

New rules will also come into force to ensure that standing fans have plenty of room and don't spill out into the aisles. In grounds where the space along the rows is insufficient, standing may still be allowed, but capacity will be cut to avoid encroachment into the gangways. The guidance gives an example of "at least 5 seats" per row being taken off sale.

I imagine that in due course there will also be a general clamp down on standing in any area other than the safe standing areas, so that fans who prefer to sit aren't inconvenienced. The logic will be, I presume that clubs will by then have had the opportunity to provide standing areas and if they choose not to, then they must keep all fans sat down.

That clearly won't work, so it makes sense for all clubs to provide a mix of standing and seated accommodation to match the demand in their individual case.

I wonder how much more affordable safe standing tickets will be than seated tickets, because It wouldn't surprise me if they were premium priced ...

The Athletic has some interesting articles (I only read the football stuff, mainly EFL only), but it has some absolute crap writing too.

I wouldn’t pay £60….I don’t mind the £1 p.m I currently pay to get the odd article behind a paywall.  I will cancel as soon as my latest offer runs out.

I’d say it’s trying to be an online “FourFourTwo” of old, but fails spectacularly.

Oh crap. I've sold myself a turkey then. At least it was cheap!

Nigel Pearson joined because Mark Ashton had switched off/was asleep at the wheel and allowed the process to happen knowing he was on his toes to Ipswich, and did not care on what terms the new manager joined.

Prior to this, when Holden was appointed, Ashton desperately needed to buy some time and it was important his position was not diluted in order to exact his exit strategy. Hence, any experienced manager that was interviewed could see the problems in our club and surely sought to amend/rectify as part of their vision moving forward which was not acceptable. Hence we ended up with Dean Holden.

The cards fell perfectly for Mark Ashton, during possibly the most conceited and self-serving 12 months any individual has had at our club. Ultimately it set us back 3 years, but we can thank our lucky stars it did not cost us our Championship status as that could have led to 82 repeating itself, and that we ended up with Nigel Pearson at the end of it.

If you think this is over-dramatic it is not. We have been very fortunate.

I'd like to rebutt your assertations. But I can't. Fortunately we were just one of the steps on the ladder to Mr Ashton's world football dominance. And luckily for us he took a lot of his toys with him!

I guess the talking point is whether Pearson would have signed on for the long term if he was going to have to work under Ashton.

My completely uninformed belief is that he wouldn't have and knew the score regarding Ashton's future when he first came in.

There was only room for one of them at the club. I'm not convinced that was a know issue when he first came in. Maybe I could be persuaded that Steve Lansdown gave some sort of assurance that MA wouldn't be a long term issue, but if I remember correctly SL said he didn't have prior knowledge of MAs resignation and did every thing he could to convince him to stay. Come to think of it, that last bit seems a bit unbelievable.

  13. The Athletic is held in high regard for quality football/sports journalism. Well, I'm sure I've heard it mentioned here a few times anyway.

Here's a hotukdeals link - click the deal button - for a 12 month sub at £9.99, normally £59.99. This auto-renews at the full price of £59.99 - to avoid this, you should be able to cancel immediately & retain access until the end of the 12 month period per the legalese:

"You may cancel your Subscription at any time on your account page; however, subject to such consumer cancellation rights, there are no refunds for cancellation. If you cancel before the end of your Subscription Term you will have access to your account for the remainder of the Subscription Term.")
