  1. He'll probbaly need to be led to it and booted through.
  2. I'll wager the Red Sea didn't part so fast for Jesus.
  3. I liked the circles he ran just before getting 'injured'. Cleary has no idea how to defend or what his defensive responsibilities actually were.
  4. Yes. A lot of Ashton/Ashton Value is on a flood plain. We're pretty much at the same height as the city ground (+/- about a foot), and it gets a bit concerning when you occasionally see the river by Ashton Bridge/Create Centre come within touching distance of the path by the conker trees.
  5. Maybe a Cox's Orange Pippin verses a Royal Gala?
  6. I think Sextone came across a bit Mark Ashton like, but was actually a very good administrator. And although he didn't sound like it, I think he may have hailed from Bedminster.
  7. E30, E31 & E32 have cards to hold up on the eigth minute verses Boro per Scott Davidson. The rows around me are currently about half full most games. Let's hope everyone turns up.
  8. COD's about a 20% bet to win a 50/50. I have no faith in him to tackle, hold opposition players off, control a good pass and get a shot off, or to put a decent cross in more than 30% of the time. It's a no from me Nigel, unless we can't fill that position with someone with better potential - and if we can't, why not?
  9. Over the long term I think it might be a good strategy to adopt, depending on how much it improves your chances of getting 5 out of 5 and 4 out of 5. Especially if it's 4-4 or 4-5 against and you have one left to take. If you're missing 2 from 5 (assuming say Salah went first and scored), you probably still aren't winning, although there is maybe more pressure on the oppositions later takers. The result was probably down to a butterfly flapping it's wings in South America anyway, and I'm glad Egypt didn't win.
  10. That someone might be a bit disappointed.
  11. To be fair to them, they managed to win it without being (a) the host nation, or (b) being good enough to qualify.
  12. I guess there is more pressure on say the 4th and 5th pen takers verses the first and second. All I know is don't let Gordon Owen take one.
  13. All pen saves are good, but it was a terrible kick.
  14. Don't worry, Pearson has his number. I just worry that he'll accept the offer made (negotiations were opened a while ago) and we'll have to make do with his mediocrity for another two years.
  15. You can get very specialist on Matermind nowadays. Maybe too much so. I think his topic was "Punching the ball into my own net from the edge of the box under little pressure from a Watford forward"
  16. If he's there Wednesday night they probably won't notice him.
  17. You're right. This is all we need.
  18. Does he qualify to have a crack at Watford yet? Surely he just needs to assume a holding position around Vicarage Road for a while and he'll get a chance?
  19. You could have left a picture of the grandstand/enclosure in here from the 1970s or the old stand that predated the Dolman and we'd still look good in comparison.
  20. The present value of the unpaid contacts would be a pittance compared to the current expenditure., If Bristol City cared that much about 'The Ashton Gate 8' they'd have made restitution by now.
  21. I expect half the monthly cost is his wages
  22. Ha, sorry, I was trying to do a cryptic crossword (I'm terrible at them) with the clue: "Bond's capture of copper puts things straight (6)' at the same time
