  1. Think we should be disappointed with any game we do not win at home. We are still work in progress. Sounds like we went long to often, and it is worrying that Cotts does not see JET as a kind of super sub able to make an impact late on, for whatever reason. Nonetheless, as disappointments go over the last few years, this is a very minor one. Clean sheet helps.
  2. Would seem harsh, but might be he is just having a look at various mixes.
  3. After last weeks success, looks like to me he is playing about with not playing JET plus two up front, and seeing what options work best with two out of those three. Right time to play about a bit. Barnett/El not in squad.
  4. Interesting on the Walsall forum a few who went said no complaints about the penalty.
  5. Sounds like the result was better than the performace, but looks like job pretty much done. Two pens by Sammy, six points off them - easy money when you keep clean sheets, although obviously their pen miss is a big bonus. Win on Friday and we may well be mathmatically safe.
  6. And El not even on the bench - another go to player since he has been brought in. Right decision, but even so surprised.
  7. Used to be, but more recently not played there since 2006 and not lost there for 17 years. Feels like a draw, but as we beat them first time round, 1-2.
  8. Must confess do not ge this one at all. Why was it being played on the Saturday anyway? Whatever that reason, what has now changed! All seems a huge fudge up.
  9. Interesting as to whether they should count the earlier results, which were of course against West Germany. Cannot ever remember playing them in truth, but do East Germany's results just get deleted from those records, or do the records only count results against a United Germany? Likewise, USSR, Yugoslavia, the old Check side, etc etc.
  10. Thinking about it, i want to say two minutes, as that is all that was left in the mtach to make good.
  11. Was reading their forum, and did see somebody post "We can't defend set pieces and face a side of hoofball merchants... Great!" In complete fairness I think he was responding to somebody saying their next match was Stevenage, rather than meaning us - I think!
  12. I had a text from a mate at the game at half time saying it was close, other than the score! Will let someone who was there respond, but the games I have seen recently we have resorted to belting it clear now and again, but we have actually tried to play football rather than what I would call long ball.
  13. 90:00 +5:44 Goal scored Goal! Goal! Northampton Town 2, AFC Wimbledon 2. Sammy Moore (AFC Wimbledon) right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box to the top right corner. Assisted by Alan Bennett. Sulks...
  14. Suppose we should not get to far ahead of ourselves, two difficult games now, and after Notts win, no one at the bottom is pencilled in yet. Still, a bloody fine result. Two more wins to finish it off please.
  15. In all seriousness, one point at this stage of the season. Three brown 'uns in your shorts time. I actually fancy Pompey right now to go down - who would have thought it!
  16. Northampton 2 Carter 29? (pen), 79? Wimbledon 1 Francomb 14? It really is our night...
  17. I suppose its to much to hope for a last minute winner for Northampton to put the cherry on top!
  18. O M Fing G!!!! Its City mind - would be happier if those three came in the last four minutes.. Surely not even....No - don't even think it!
  19. Definition Disappointed - Bristol City fan after losing a two goal lead in last twenty minutes to only get an away draw, failing to move further away from the drop zone. Gutted - Stevenage fan after losing a two goal lead in last ten minutes to lose at home, and drop in to the bottom four. Lets keep a little perspective!
  20. And we got six at Orient and Peterboro. Ten points from the last five away. Today is a bit of a gutter, as we seemed to be crusing, but has been said, poop happens. Sounds like we started to sit back and invite them on to us, rather than controling the game. Three tricky ones coming up now, would feel much happier with a win against the Vale.
  21. Wolves drew at home to the Shrews same score. Its a sign of not a bad side that when the ball will just not go in, you still keep a clean sheet. Little moan if you like - back line played in poisition and a clean sheet. Coincidence?
  22. Yep, failing a win, 0-0 was in an odd way the next best result. Other results pretty much ok. Point nearer safety, on to the next one.
