  1. Since 1989 the record of results is:

    Bristol City Won 8

    Draws 4

    Brum City Won 17

I live with a Bluenose next door to me. He hasn't watched them for years but will be knocking on my door on Saturday evening IF.... One of probably thousands who have retired here, Burnham On Sea, Berrow and Brean - Brummy accents all over the place.

So, please, please, please BCFC, the Bristle version, please let me enjoy my Saturday evening Bolognese and red wine. I don't want any of them bloody foreigners yet again taking the mickey. Get stuck into them lads and send them home empty handed. I know it will be unusual for them but turn the tide please.

    Birmingham play 3-5-2.

Same players, but with Naismith in his “usual” position.

Subs look to me like Bentley, Sykes, Dasilva, King, Kadji, Bell & based on Pearson’s comments yesterday, Martin.

That hardly looks like “bare bones”, 5 very experienced subs plus Bell who has been on the bench for quite a while now. Kadji the only inexperienced one & it might not be him (though doubt it would be HNM).

Then a back three of Vyner Atkinson and Naismith. Tanner and Pring as more defensive minded wing backs.

If we did ever join forces, the best thing to do would be to take the 'Bristol' from their name and the 'City' from ours to get your new club.

Yes, and for a kit we could take the red from our kit and the white from theirs.

Those are at least 50 or 60 years old. We'd play at Ashton Gate as it's larger than the rugby Mem!

    Will never happen

I'll rephrase it a bit, possible there was double counting.

It depends how we measure it.

League only- Coventry away to present

0-9 from Coventry away in November 2021. 0 for, 9 against including 1 to Coventry 2nd half. Same for the Cup games in that period.

From 1st November 2020 to present- League only

We habe been aawarded 1 in the League and 16 against.

Same time period including the Cup games

Been awarded the 1 in the League, 1 in the Cup but 16 against in the League and 1 against in the Cup.

Net total 2 for, 17 against.

Thanks Mr P. Not as bad as my mistaken numbers but two for and seventeen against is still a significant difference over a 2 to 3 year/season period.

    Okay let's see.

    1) Penalties against- in the period we received 0? 9. All in the League and inclusive of Coventry away in the same game.

    2) Penalties against in all competitions since our last- also 9.

    3) Since November 2020 ie from start of that month- 16 in the League.

    4) Inclusive of Cup games 2? 2 for and 17 against.

    0-9, 0-9, 1-16 and 2-17.

Wow! Three for City and THIRTY THREE AGAINST! ( Have I got the numbers correct?)

I know some will cast scorn on me but I seriously wonder how many clubs are back-handing referees and or linesmen.

I know that most home fans will argue that any penalty against their club in home games is extremely dubious but we've had so many against us at home. Many of these I thought were dubious to say the least. It has seemed clear that too many away players who fall in our box gains a penalty. Yet the same at the other end is not given.

  6. If Scott goes this window, it will be a shame because I'd rather it was him staying and Semenyo going. Simply because Semenyo doesn't appear to want a new contract and could end up going for nothing. Semenyo to go and Scott to stay for another season would suit City better.

Well we don’t know how good he will be because it hasn’t happened yet.

He will be a very good Premier League midfielder. How do I know?

He has real talent. He reads a game well. He's had almost two seasons as a regular player. He'll attack and do his fair share of defending.

Importantly, you never see him sulking or hiding in a match however he is playing. That is his biggest asset. What's gone is gone. He's always looking for the next thing to do in a match.

I think that £25 million is a a snip for such a good quality young midfielder. He'll be in the England under 21 team this season or summer.

Usual meltdown from people who evidently don't watch the U21s regularly.

And no surprise that the very worst proponents of performative outrage are joining in.

But I do see them live and on TV.

  9. Lost 0-1.

Having just watched this match, I'm beginning to understand why we, as a club, are getting such poor results.

Cardiff used the complete list of time wasting,  falling down for free kicks, lwhile we are so naive to fall for every one.

It is difficult to understand how we are top of this league. Our approach play was slow and laboured. Plenty of passing backwards even in the last few minutes when trying to get an equaliser.

And if any City fan believes that Dasilva and Massengo should ever play in our first team, watch this on YouTube. Backwards only for JD and cannot remember a pass from HNM to a City player.

    Utterly abysmal match.

An American bought Gillingham last month, they are bottom of the entire football league at present.

We are by no means the least attractive club out there, I think SL’s inability to relinquish all control is more of an issue than finding a buyer.

If the Fruit Market bit is true that’s disgraceful, but sadly no surprise.

    @GrahamC

Please clarify / advise what does the Fruit Market have to do with SL or City

  11. If I remember correctly about Pawson and our promotion season match at MK Dons.

In the second half, did he fail to give MK a cast iron penalty in exactly the same way that he ignored two for us yesterday?

Old quote by Andy King, but sums up why 12m is nowhere near enough

“I think I went on record last year and said that he was probably the best 17-year-old I have played with. When you look at some of the players who I’ve had the privilege of playing with, you look at Ben Chilwell, Harvey Barnes, people like that who have gone on to play for England, I saw them at 17/18 and I think certainly, at 17, Scotty was ahead of those.

“He can go as far as he wants because he’s got a mature head on his shoulders and all the talent in the world.

I agree. I've already posted £20/£25 million now. Another year or two and we could be looking at £50 m. But too long here could hold up his development as he will soon need a higher level than Championship.

I’m amazed that people don’t see Scott as crucial. He’s been our best player this season and is massively important to us in the middle of the park and every other blade of grass he manages to cover in a game.  6 Premier League clubs want one of our players but apparently he’s not a vital player!  If we sell him and don’t replace him then we could very well go down

You are miles off on your assessment of Scott in my opinion

I agree with you as Scott does a lot more of unnoticed positional play. Thinking back to what Brum got for Bellingham, I consider that at least £20 or £25 million is a sensible price for him. I'd prefer that we sell Semenyo to help us through this season and into next and keep Scott for another year or two when if we, the manager, coaches and supporters are probably looking at doubling the fee then. Patience could be a very big rewarder so long as we stay up this season.
