  1. Wilbs can just run himself into the ground for 60-70 minutes (not 85-90 last season), then bring on whoever is needed for the remainder.
  2. Reminds me of Cluedo.....Tammy in the 6 yard box with the lead piping
  3. Funnily enough, I said earlier that our wide players hadn't really fired this season....and LJ picks a Sir Alf Wingless Wonders team!
  4. Funny how a more attack minded team gives me a greater expectation of winning away. Fancy us today. Come on you redddsssss
  5. Think we've been a little cagey in our set ups away from home....we'll certainly see today. Reid was fantastic on Tuesday and I'd suggest that LJ has found out that he needs to find a way to accommodate not just Tomlin, but Reid as well these days. Korey's industry and ability to cover vast amount of ground, alongside O'Neil, probably vital to the inclusion of both Reid and Tomlin, and another striker too. Clever selection....on paper.
  6. Agree with you NTB, thought Freeman had a decent match, and believe it or not, him and a Little combined well down the right hand side.
  7. Assuming everyone is available for selection LJ has got some tough decisions today: - Little or Moore, probably Litts - Pack or Reid, suspect Pack might get the nod as we try to go a bit more solid away - Golbourne or Bryan, playing Bryan might be more attack minded, but allows another one of our wide-men to start, where there is probably the most contention for places - Bryan or O'Dowda or Freeman or Paterson, for the two wide berths. If Bryan starts on left, there's one from three on the right wing Can't see Smith getting a start. My team: O'Donnell, Little, Flint, Magnússon, Golbourne, Freeman, Pack, O'Neil, Bryan, Tomlin, Abraham Subs: Fielding, Ekstrand, Moore, Reid, O'Dowda, Paterson, Wilbraham Not getting kit on: Brownhill, Smith, Engvall - one not quite done enough yet, one still on the road to fitness, the other has been carrying a knock. If I had to swap 2 of them into the 18 it would be Reid and Wilbraham to drop out. Would be a bit of a kick in the nuts to Reid. Expect LJ will think differently...also think he'll be doing a fair bit of man-management along the lines of "2 back to back away games, 3 games in a week" type stuff, and expect the squad to be used over the next week, unlike last season.
  8. My player ratings - I'm doing half points and in generous mood because we won! O'Donnell 6.5 - nothing he could do about the goal, great save from deflected shot and more important kick away at 2-1 Little 6.5 - improved performance with greater confidence. Edgy start, but got stronger. Golbourne 7.0 - very solid, and what's going on with these galloping runs in the second half. Has had to up his game with JB challenging for LB slot Flint 8.0 - looked class and great goal-line clearance. A leader without the armband. Magnússon 7.0 - took a wile to get the handle on Ayew, but so impressive for 25-90 minutes Freeman 7.0 - so much better. Still a bit frustrating, but Amavi had no answer to him in second half Reid 6.5 - poor, over-awed in first half. Very much improved second half. He will get a lot of self-belief from this showing and also been given 3 starts on the trot. O'Neill 8.0 - our best player with a Flint first half, fantastic driving performance in second half. Bryan 7.5 - like him in that left midfield role, can get on the ball and influence. Great run for goal, with yet another right foot finish. Tomlin 7.0 - quiet first half, but came alive in the second. Showed his talent, great free-kick. Liked that he gave away a really bad pass, and instead of moaning at someone, chased all the way back to his own box. Abraham 9.0 - goal, assist, but did so well in first half with poor service, giving Elphick a really hard time. Continued second half and great awareness for his goal and pass to JB to send us into raptures. Subs: Pack - impressively closed out the game...good sub O'Dowda - continued where Freeman left off Wilbraham - life in the old dog still. Outpaced Chester, and so unfortunate back-heel didn't come off. Generally everyone half a point higher because of comeback, but who cares!
  9. With you there, or one win one loss would be better. Totally with you on your middle paragraph
  10. Plus having kit for some that don't make the 18 man squad, in case of injury during warm up. Max is lift-sharing with Vyner, but I'd be surprised if Vyner made the 18, but you never know.
  11. The season hadn't officially starred until @BigTone gives us his condensed version. We're not there just yet.
  12. I believe there are still 'standard' loans which are usually half or full season and are only allowed inside the normal transfer windows. Think Baker and Moore. Emergency Loans, sometimes referred to as 'temporary' loans, are for periods of between 28-93 days and take place post the end of the summer window and a period (I'm not quite sure exactly) around the end of the winter window, but deadline is something like 3rd Thursday in March. Think Bennett or Matt Smith. Section 53 for Loans
  13. Let's hope Davies and Dawson don't clatter him like they did in the home game.....although he was wearing tights!
  14. What formation did we play yesterday? 4231, or 4141? I appears that Bryan played CM. Was the midfield: Pack behind, Freeman, Reid, Bryan, Tomlin
  15. I hope Bobby is allowed to relax and play his own game....trying to copy Korey is pointless. Wonder if we may be a bit more 4141 today?
  16. Good luck Bobby.....big chance. Alongside Pack (4231) or in behind Kodjia and Tomlin and Pack together?
  17. Won't be there today, Joe failed a late fitness test (compressed fractured vertebrae), but I think this game will be a good test of our progress, more so than BHA. I expect a tough game. Realistically I don't think a point is beyond us. Good luck City and safe journey all Ciderheads.
