  1. You not seen any games on telly? There is no doubt the above has returned.
  2. I don’t mind Stroud. Eltringham, Ward, Langford (he's improved a bit), Linnington, and Gillett.
  3. @Fordy62how come you didn’t take photos and put them on OTIB when you met me? ???
  4. Boring as it sounds, I don’t think it’s the results in games against the likes of Bournemouth, Brom and Fulham that will define our season, but how we do against the likes of Forest, Coventry, Barnsley, Birmingham and Blackburn etc. I sense an entertaining game of football today….lots of battles to look out for.
  5. They almost went down last season with no points deduction. Ive always said eventually a “big club” (imho Derby are) will go to the wall. Derby might be it. Sometimes a lesson has to be learned the hard way.
  6. Beautiful summary @downendcity ??????. Looks like Morris continued to pay the players, but not the Tax and NI (plus probably Employers NI too). That’s a conscious decision isn’t it, knowing failure to pay players could lead to players walking out of their contract and potential points deduction too. I guess Mel just walks away. Could he have found a buyer if he’d priced it as a Lg1 club? Or is that the problem, nobody would buy it as a Lg1 club with the debts associated?
  7. Nothing against Probert at all, good luck to him…..suspect Ashton has tapped him up (no issues with that either), offered him a few quid more, and he’s accepted it. Just like most of us would in that situation. Saves us a few quid in wages no doubt. Goes with my best wishes.
  8. Janneh is a very confident lad….would not surprise me if he thought after his 2 goals against FGR he ought to be more involved. Could be Vyner though.
  9. Maybe the role had already changed with less emphasis on first team fringe players going on loan? The subtle name change from Loans Manager to PPM initially? Taylor Moore is the only bona fide first teamer out on loan. Would imagine some / much of the PPM role is consumed into new role of Academy Director and what Gary Davenport will pick up.
  10. Against Fulham, Martin tried to drift onto Ream rather than Tosin.
  11. I always felt he came across well in interviews and on Robinstv. "The role will help support Lee O’Neill and the Academy, and help that transition from playing in the Academy to senior football.” Ashton does lover glorified titles!!! Football Administration Chief executive officer - Mark Ashton General manager of football operations - Lee O'Neill Chief operating officer - Luke Werhun Financial controller - Mark Andrews Club secretary - Stuart Hayton Academy operations manager - Helen Broughton Operations department administrator- Sally Williams Academy Staff Head of Coaching & Player Development - Bryan Klug Academy Manager - Academy Operations Manager - Helen Broughton
  12. They’ve received about £11m from Watkins in total so far: £6.5m initial fee, £4m in sell-on profit and now £450k in other add-ons. Not quite Lloyd Kelly levels yet ???
  13. The other news….Gary Probert to Ipswich Town!
  14. That is ultimately what’s gonna happen, whether tomorrow or in the future. I wouldn’t mind seeing this tomorrow if Massengo a bit touch and go: Bentley Tanner | Kalas | Atkinson | Dasilva O’Dowda | Williams | James | Pring Weimann | Martin but generally I’m sure I’ll be happy with whatever eleven is picked. There are gonna be a few chomping at the bit. Some interesting battles tomorrow. Atkinson / Kalas v Solanke - very good at getting shots away in tight situations. Our 2 CMs versus Lerma and Billing Weimann to really wind-up Ben Pearson Martin peeling onto Kelly. Bentley should not kick down Cahill’s throat. I sense an entertaining game.
  15. Are you insinuating that Greaves played with Dicks ?
  16. Another win away from home. Congrats to the team.
  17. I don’t think they will survive once the -9 gets added too, but it gives them hope…and the Administrators are using that to try anything at the mo’. I pray they lose every game this season.
  18. I’m just waiting to see whether they have anyone credible interested. I suspect not at this point. In some respects a series of defeats might make things easier. Results are making the -12 look like it can be overcome.
  19. Here was the 18 v Peterborough - who comes back in, and who drops out? Baker, Dasilva, Wells and Massengo - I can see all 4 getting into the 18. Bell, Vyner, Simpson and Bakinson out? Good choices to have!
  20. Interesting comments above. FWIW, I think he’s a good player, and important to our “team”. That doesn’t make him a brilliant player individually per se, but we saw last season what we missed when he was out. I don’t think we have any brilliant players in our squad at all btw. He’s not always aesthetically pleasing, can appear rushed at times, yet on other occasions is hugely composed. He brings intensity to the “collective” (Nige word) and we are lacking that when he doesn’t play. I think it is too easy to say he played well against Reading and Cardiff for example…because those were games he scored in. Easy to forget contributions in games where he didn’t score. He’s had 1 of 2 below par games this season too, but so has everyone. It’s gonna happen. Between him and Martin they’ve scored 8 goals in 11 league games….add in Wells odd minutes and it’s 9 in 11. I don’t think it matters too much who gets them, whether they get them in batches or not. So quoting he’s only scored in 2 of 11 games (or hasn’t scored in 9 of 11) doesn’t worry me that much….they contributed towards 6 points. Ive often said that if you just spent all 90 minutes watching Weimann, you’d see different things. He’s purposeful in what he does. He drags players out of position for the benefit of others for example. If you just watch what he does when the ball is in his possession or challenging for possession, you get a very shallow view of what he is about. Opposition defenders know his threat. I don’t think he’s a 20-goal striker, but I do think if you play him through the middle every game you’d have more chance of him getting circa 15….that’s pretty good in a middle-eight team. We aren’t a team that scores heavily are we? I’m not here to try and change people’s opinion, but he’d start most games for me. When you add Weimann’s intensity alongside Massengo, Williams pace and tanacity etc, couple it with James’s nous, it gives us a strong core for the front 6, depending on how you perm them (they don’t have to play every game). Ultimately Nige is building a team, you need team players for that, and Andreas Weimann is one of those.
  21. Don’t they have the option to add points on also if the Club don’t work with the EFL. They can also save points for co-operation. If true, I’d just cancel their fixtures now. Had enough of this crap. They cheated, they know they cheated.
  22. I think he said a player that has been involved but hasn’t kitted up recently. My thoughts were Janneh.
  23. Highlights out now: Really good build up for goal. Some more Abi Harrison highlights in there too to go alongside my tweet.
