  1. I’m not disagreeing, just asking why nobody points the finger at any other bodies for support. yes, agreed, PFA have about £5m....can’t find EFL money, but FA have circa £400m!
  2. Not having a go at you Triple-T, but why does everyone always suggest it’s the PL that should bail out the EFL clubs? Why not the EFL itself, or the FA, or the PFA?
  3. I had to stop doing them....when you’ve heard the same question several times over, and then can’t remember the right answer it’s time to stop. Every bugger in the country knows the names of Harry Potter’s parents!!!
  4. They already made it clear from day one, that it’s economy and NHS over people’s lives, but then tried to hide it with “we are following the science”. But I’m gonna step away from this debate now, as I’ll end up going off on one. ?
  5. Without getting into politics, it’s bonkers. The logic of one thing being allowed over another is influenced by the wrong factors. You get BS that education is so important, then you open pubs ahead of it.
  6. Shrewsbury’s new ground was the first away ground I took Joe. As you describe, it is well set up for a test event.
  7. I love the diversity of the travel / mates.....I could imagine you with a 3 wheeler van with Red Dave Independent Trading on the side and “London, Paris, Wuhan, Oldham” underneath ???
  8. Do you think that’s why they’ve sold Lowe and Bogle???
  9. Ta. Here’s the link for anyone else. Amortisation “stuff” from pg21. https://www.efl.com/siteassets/efl-documents/youth-alliance/200824---efl-v-derby-county--decision.pdf @Mr Popodopolous it looks like the £25.1m amortisation in 19/20, is the end of the can being kicked down the road. ? As a process / practice, I think it’s more sensible, even if it was standardised as 10% for each year up to C-1 (C = Contract end) So a 3 year deal with be: 10, 10, 80 A 4 year deal, 10, 10, 10, 70 etc. Obviously club should state amortisation model in advance.
  10. @AnotherDerbyFan do you amortisation of £25m in 18/19 or 19/20? If 19/20...have you got access to accounts, or is this a calculation?
  11. Re the bold bit...does Morris ever adjust asset values down during a players time here, ie is there ever an amortisation line in the accounts?. So for example you buy Tom Lawrence for £5m. Is he still sat at £5m? If so, would you need to sell him for £10m to make £5m “Transfer Profit”?
  12. Swings and roundabouts to an extend. Take Player A - £10m on a 5 year deal 23 clubs amortise him at a loss of £2m pa, a cost in each year’s accounts. Derby Dont. Player A still sits on the books at £10, zero to amortise, zero cost. That looks unfair, but.... Scenario A: sold 23 clubs sell player A for £10m the following summer. Each club adds £2m to their transfer profit figure. Derby sell player A for £10m. Zero transfer profit. Scenario B: runs contract down 23 clubs just continue to amortise the £2m in the 5th year. Derby have to amortise / write off £10m. That’s a risky strategy.
  13. I think you know the answer to this!!! I imagine Leicester are automating this. This is not a job that can be done with thousands of fans by pen and paper.
  14. Reading could well be the next “big-mess” club. Think they’ll be bottom 6-8, even a relegation chance.
  15. I played at Saltash many moons ago. Nice ground. Good curry house under the Bridge too!
  16. This is likely to be cash flow.....won’t impact FFP.
  17. Yes, that first year down, isn’t the problem, it’s the ones after that, especially if they have a poor season first up. They start to lose players, can’t attract players, but still have a big wage bill. They need to sell the likes of Ake for good money and recruit well for significantly less.
  18. Just in case some of you didn’t read it fully (I didn’t)....this is from an independent board. Both Wednesday and EFL have 14 days to appeal. Suspect Wednesday will from a “too big a penalty” point of view. EFL may do from a “wrong season” point of view. Other club’s, e.g. Charlton, may take legal advice.
  19. Good point. We have our own toilets too. i believe it is fully subscribed, but it’s never full.
