  1. Assuming it is only the cannabis that they have him on & there are no ties they can pinpoint to a further crime organisation, how long would he be looking at? Cannabis is a class B (which i agree is mental & should be looking towards legalisation, as the dealing side of it is what leads to the violence more than the actual people who consume it).

I assume they will be trying to get him to “co-operate” as there are bound to be bigger fish at play based on the size of the import, he may potentially get a lenient sentence if he does help their investigation.

  2. Yesterdays result and performance were extremely poor, however it is much too soon to be getting to worked up over, these results happen. Plenty more games to get things right. If we are still performing like this after 12-15 games in then there will understandably be questions that need to be answered.

I certainly dont think our fanbase are anymore different to the majority when it comes to hyperbole one way or the other. I also certainly can’t remember anyone saying we would win the league after Millwall, that would be a crazy statement after the performance during that second half!

With the money we have spent and the backing Manning has had, compared to the previous manager, then we certainly should be aiming high this season and keeping in touch with the play-offs throughout, but yesterdays match won’t be a defining one in my opinion, these results can happen to any club, everyone just needs to stay calm, no matter what side of the fence you are on regarding whether you feel Manning is the right man or not.

  3. I remember clapping Reece James’s goal against us when he was on loan at Wigan from Chelsea (was either the season that covid happened or the one before?) but it was an absolute worldy. Some goals are just too good to yell “**** off you ***” at the player as he runs off celebrating!

  4. Think it has to be play-offs now personally (back in the beginning of July i wouldn't of been saying that!) with the signings and spending. Added in to the fact that the 3 relegated (Burnley aside) & promoted teams not looking like they are going to be taking the division by storm, it really has to be an aim to be top 6.

Transfer (net) spend really doesn't have much of a correlation (let alone confirmed causation) to finishing position.

Might not have a correlation, but certainly raises expectations.

  5. So with the signings & spending, surely this now makes it a season from "improve from last year" to "play-offs is the expectation"? For me, anything lower than 8th has to be classed as unsuccessful - before the Twine signing  would of said 12th-9th is reasonable, but has to be an aim for top 6 now.

You should see it in the wider fanbase tbh. Twitter, FB City groups. No idea about Instagram as I'm not on there.

I try to avoid reading the twitter responses the most, as it is mainly the younger chilidish "fifa" generation that believe no player should ever leave the club without a torrent of abuse........who then post crap like "H.M.S Piss the league" when we make some bang average signing, just to get some laughing emoji's in their replies.

  7. Not really posted much on this thread but have been keeping an eye on it, but fair play to Tommy, he is moving on to bigger & better things (yes, regardless of what anyone thinks about the place itself, Boro are certainly a step up from us) & i am sure he will be using this move as a stepping to stone to further his own career.

Really don't understand some of the anger/malice aimed at Conway from some on here - he signed a deal, this deal is now running out & he has not been offered a new one which he has deemed acceptable so he is moving on, just like 99% of professional footballers do. I'm sure some on here like to think they are "itk" & know all the in's/out's of the contract he was offered, but the only people who will ever know for sure are TC, his agent & Tinnion (assuming he deals with the contracts). Know one else will ever know what the actual deal offered. He has always come across as a decent bloke so i wish him all the best & i am sure he will have a good career.....just as long as he plays sh1t against us!

If he wasn't a legends son he wouldn't  be in the team, I generally don't get what people see in him, he appear weak, lacks composure, can't cross, and isn't the best passer

His weakness is what amazes me, he’s coming in to his third full season but still appears to be a 18 year old. Not giving up on him just yet, but think this will be a pivotal season for his future aspects.

Regarding Earthy coming in, would be very surprised if that means we would be getting Twine as well, that one seems very dead to me. West Ham wouldn’t send one of their most promising youngsters here just to fight it out with Stokes for a place on the bench.

Joe Williams doesn’t take you forward as a club.

no idea why he was offered a new contract.

Certainly not his biggest fan, but i can understand why he was given the deal - King was retiring, Matty James wasn’t wanted by the club and then we have Williams. Losing all 3 of those experienced players would of been very worrying & Williams made the most sense to keep.

Just another example of the poor on field behaviour in the current game.

its about time the football authorities stamped out this rubbish !

from the dissent to the feigning of injury to behaviour like this, it has made the modern game an embarrassment and gives so much ammunition to the football haters.

Im pretty sure he will be getting a lengthy ban for this.

Mental thing is some West Brom fans on twitter are defending him saying the Mallorca player hit him first……but they are ignoring the fact that Molumby aims a “headbutt” to begin with! Proper odd behaviour, must be something else going on with him to snap like that.

Or maybe he would prefer to be regarded as a 'key' squad player guaranteed to be fully involved throughout the season as opposed to just a standard squad player with potentially limited game time? Maybe he likes being a bigger fish in the pool as opposed to being a smaller one, so to speak?

We just don't know what his motivations may or may not be.

Whilst that could of course be possible, i would be amazed if a professional athlete at his age would have that mindset.

Exactly this. If I was him I’d rather play 20-30 games for a 1st place pushing side than 46 for us in mid table mediocrity.

Spot on, add in to the fact that his first season at Burney was pretty injury ravaged & then unsurprisingly didn't get a look in after their promotion, so i am sure there will be a part of him wanting to prove to them that he was worth the money they spent on him. I certainly don't think he will be going to Scott Parker demanding a transfer away from Burnley just to join Bristol City, regardless of his relationship with Liam Manning.

  13. Really don't get the hype with this deal, Twine isn't that good of a player to wait all window on, he's a decent player but nothing more. Maybe we just aren't signing a "number 10" & this deal has been dead for a while? If he knows he will be getting game time this season at Burnley then he would be an absolute mentalist to want to come to us instead anyway.

  14. Think this season goes one extreme or the other. If the young signings hit the ground running & we keep a fit squad then we really could do things as i dont see this league being as competitive as last season…..but at the same time having lost the expereince we had with James and King, not signing any defenders & very inexperienced signings mixed in with some injuries it could also go the other way.

Either way i certainly don’t think we will be in for another midtable season, just hoping it will be the better extreme!

personally i dont think LM will be here for too long before he sees through them and moves on.

Thought this for a while, even last season there were a couple of things he was saying (can’t remember exactly what) that made me think “hmmm not sure if that is the line Tinnion would expect him to toe”.

If we come out of the blocks particularly fast this season and there are a couple of big championship jobs going & they take interest then i would fully expect him to go. Can’t see him being here come the end of this season, put it that way.
