  1. Seemingly a new injury yesterday in Andy King. I don’t particularly like him as a starting CB but never want any of ours injured. Hopefully just a knock. Injured: Kalas Wilson King Benarous I’ve heard nothing, though I believe Kalas is now due back. Benarous of course has had the reoccurrence so not at all soon - all the best Ayman in your recovery.
  2. Dean doesn’t have to be out of a job for long if he doesn’t want to be.
  3. Car crash of a quote. We all know when an atmosphere is poor/negative and we all have our opinions on booing or not singing etc. But club employees just don’t make reference to a poor atmosphere. They’re making money to be there. We’re paying money to be there.
  4. If the Lansdowns want to act, he’s loaded the gun for them I feel.
  5. Yea I’m amazed they published that. I don’t think the paying supporters are to blame somehow. And bloody hell, we’ve been loyal through some dross this past few years.

    Who?

Would like Wilder but probably wouldn’t be interested in us sadly. Christ I remember that. And his stock has sunk. I wonder.
  7. Appreciate the difficult conditions he’s worked under but the club comes first, and we are at greater risk of relegation than last season. Time for a change. Also - we’re not the harrowing pond life prospect some on here think we are, many managers would be very happy to be employed here - even with some money constraints.
  8. Growing into it but doing what we do best: finding a way to lose. Come on City. Let’s have a Christmas gift ?️
  9. Only 1 change to the 18 today, Martin out and Atkinson in. Starting XI unchanged from Stoke. Klose and Massengo in the wilderness, not sure if Martin has an issue or is just out through competition. Injured: Kalas Wilson Benarous Edit to add: I’ve been critical of some of Pearson’s tenure but since he brought in Rennie our availability numbers are so much better. Massive credit. Makes writing this list a lot easier!
  10. Mentality issues I think. Some teams can grind out wins from playing poorly, we grind out defeats from playing well. Some teams find a way to score an ugly goal, we'll find a way to concede one. Frustrating, frustrating season.
  11. It's certainly possible, and something me and some other City fans discussed Saturday, but it's nowhere near likely enough to worry about yet. I think we'll survive and they'll stay down, I'd be truly amazed to be wrong on both counts.
  12. Not for me I'm afraid. You should be able to motivate players without leaving them in the wilderness for months. He's a talented youth academy product and that was wasted time. We hardly shone on the pitch with him gone.
  13. I actually worded it like that as a criticism of Pearson rather than portions of the fanbase. Like Atkinson, it seemed an unnecessary exile to the detriment of the team.
  14. Wow. Not even 14/15 survived the curse!
  15. With the possibility of another relegation scrap looking very plausible, let’s take a look at a positive. I think many of us can feel a bit smug about Pring, I heard many calling for his inclusion when he was being left out and now he has his spot back (initially at LCB and now in his preferred LWB role) he’s doing very well. A goal and an assist since the restart, and no defensive issues that I recall. 24 years old so still young, and under contract to 2024 with a years option. Productive full backs are a valuable asset today, he could make us some serious money one day. Or stay and help us out on the pitch. Win win - good work Cam.
  16. Me and my dad both noticed today - we don’t seem to help ourselves in the penalty conundrum. Pring hopped over an outstretched leg during one of his darting runs inside today. Commendable - and his runs are so dangerous so I don’t want to criticise - but is that an opportunity to take the hit? On the Semenyo one - he climbs straight back to his feet. Makes the refs mind up for him. Give him a decision to make! Only seen both events live so apologies if I’ve seen it wrong. Also, as always, the buck stops with the refs - they should still be getting calls right which they often don’t.

    Pearson

By ‘Pearson grudges’ I meant Pearson’s grudges against players, hence the rest of my post.
  18. Halfway through the season and 27 points - could be close. Two more tough games this month… it’s all a bit concerning but this squad is more than good enough to see us over the line. We were the better side today imo, we HAVE to start converting that to points. Injured: Kalas Wilson Benarous A bit of a knock for Williams led to some limping - fingers crossed not an issue.
  19. Mad to be writing him off! He’ll find his form again, get a run in the team and all will be fine. He’s a very talented player.

    Pearson

The Pearson grudges are so exhausting. After the game he’s made a comment along the lines of ‘if I’m playing King there you know what I think of the other CB’s’. Basically saying he has no faith in Klose and Atkinson, both of whom are tidy centre backs. Not perfect - but perfect players don’t play at this level. It feels like if you played for Leicester under Pearson - you could give away two penalties and crap in the centre circle - you’re still not getting criticised or dropped. Anyone else - you’re a bad half away from exile.
  21. Weimann, Vyner, Dasilva all fit; the first 2 in the XI, Jay on the bench. Atkinson and Kadji absent from the squad to allow Vyner and Dasilva back in, we’ll keep an ear out to see if Atkinson has a knock. Kadji is surely just out through competition. Injured: Kalas Wilson Benarous
  22. This game marks the midway point of our league season, they're the only team we're yet to play. A win will see us on 30pts, therefore on course for 60 which is comfortable survival. It'll be very nice to be back at the Gate after such an extended leave, let's drum up a real atmosphere to welcome the team home ready to take the points.
  23. Not to make light of it, spectator health is very important of course. But 'hurt while celebrating' did make me smile. My Dad injured his back recently and when we were watching City and we scored I'd be a mix of celebrating like a loon and making sure he stayed still to protect his back. He never did but got away with it thankfully!
  24. Saturday's two results made me turn so quickly from international back to club football I almost got whiplash. That said I'll still watch the semi's and final, if only because there's bugger all else on.
  25. Tonight and every other night. There is one team in this ******* city and it is us. Always together, always this club.
