  1. He went down and claimed but I mean like feign a head injury or something. Never a good thing to see but we’ve tried everything else ?
  2. I had a look into this over the weekend and as mentioned, England can be playing at 7 that day. I was quite excited for City at 3, straight to a pub, England at 7 but 12:30 still works. I think our other potential clash is the following weekend our game coincides with the third place play off. I know which I'd watch out of the two!
  3. I’ve clarified this question in a few comments mate.
  4. I wonder if Wells should have stayed down holding his face? But it’s ridiculous we’re having to try and find ways to be awarded penalties, the referee should just do his job. Live I thought the pull was the worst of the two, but on replay that high boot is nailed on.
  5. So I get the impression people generally disagree with my sentiments. That’s fine, forums are for debates. I think I could’ve been clearer in my op, I don’t want to see him go in case we lose our next game, I’m querying if now is the best time if it’s something SL is considering. Tuesday really wound me up and that came through, but of course if he’s still the man in charge I’ll be backing him and our club against Rotherham as heartily as the rest of us. Now let me get on with my Sunday without the pelters please ?
  6. No new injuries yesterday. Tanner’s suspension is now served. Fingers crossed for returns after the break. Nervy second half of the season awaits.
  7. No you’ve misunderstood. The point is we’re one point above the drop and there is now a rare opportunity to make an in-season change that allows a new manager a ‘pre-season’. The Rotherham game is being used as a marker, ie could we rue not using this opportunity if things stay bad.
  8. Yea absolutely. We play well against good sides and take barely any points. We play crap against bad teams and take barely any points. That’s taken us from 8th to 1 point off the drop.
  9. 2 wins from 14. We did play well today. We played well against Sheff U as well. 1 point to show for both games. If I’m wrong, and 1 win in 7 is the level of these players I’ll hold my hands up. I just think they’re better that that. As for this… I adore this club with every inch of my being. We win and I’m elated for days. It’s a rare feeling at the moment!
  10. Forgive me for a negative post. I was really upset by Tuesday, the Carabao is wide open this year with many big teams drawing one another. Good opportunity for a club of our calibre to try and do something great. But we fielded a poor side and played awful, and for me it was Pearson’s last straw. We all know about his awful win rate. We all know about our seemingly ‘unsolvable’ defensive frailties. We all know about his ‘bombing out’ of players off one bad game (Pring, Massengo, so unnecessary). Looks like we’re sticking with him… so what if we lose to Rotherham? Is that the last straw? Because his replacement then has 3 days to prepare for his first match rather than 3 weeks. He should go now. Financial restrictions due to Ashton’s negligence mean our squad is thin, but is it one point above relegation in quality? No it’s not. So the problem for me lies with the manager. Howpfully many of you will have seen my many posts on this forum and know I’m not a doom merchant or a knee-jerk nay sayer. I just truly believe Pearson’s removal is now in the best interest of the club. COYR.
  11. Bajic, Low, Klose, Kadji and Morrison disappear from the squad in the week, Klose the only surprise. A Pearson banishment maybe? Bentley, James and (now seemingly unbanished) Massengo make the 18. James in from the start. No returns from injury sadly. Injured: Naismith Kalas Wilson Benarous
  12. Technically it's impossible to know how it would've panned out as it's an entirely different timeline branch if we had won Gillinmgham at AG to get into the quarters would've been pretty awesome. But, didn't happen. Because we're a bit crap.
  13. Happy with that. Think I'll start to really feel the WC hype after Watford, that has all my attention at the mo!
  14. Well put. I'm not resigned to relegation or anything silly, we've every chance of staying up. I just feel with the players we have, we shouldn't even be in the conversation (though the loss of Naismith is brutal). I'll be with them til the end and remain somewhat optimistic we'll do ok. If Pearson turns it round I'd happily eat humble pie as I really like the man and want him to succeed. I'm crossing everything for the Watford game, we do like a bounce back this season.
  15. 8 losses in the last 21, but 20th in the league, meaning 19 teams are bettering our record. Huddersfield got a win in midweek, Wigan have just made a change to try and protect their Championship status, West Brom will be absolutely fine with that squad and Corberan. Blackpool are a recently promoted team but have shown how competitive they are at this level. That's the only 4 below us. My remit has always been the same with Nige, keep him unless relegation is looking a serious possibility. We're there.
  16. 2 wins in 13 I believe. A loss to Watford and I think a change is needed. I kind of already do. The great work done under tough constraints is appreciated, but we have players better than how we're playing. A new man can hopefully get that out of them.
  17. I'm not sure how many minutes Semenyo will get in the World Cup, might be difficult for him to really shine. That said, we've seen what he can do from the bench.
  18. Many, many big teams falling tonight including both North London clubs, Chelsea and possibly Liverpool. Lots of League 1 teams still in. A real opportunity to go deep this year, pissed up against the wall. Well done City.
  19. Would be nice to just get lucky for once. A stupid penalty (I know..) or a Watford red card. Or a stupid deflected goal. Just some dumb luck, we feel starved of it.
  20. Happy for him, the academy work speaks for itself. Not sure if Tinns has experience in the transfer market but he’s clearly got the eye. Not massively improved my mood following last night mind, I’m nervy for Saturday.
  21. Chose Wilder, but Rob Edwards also in my thinking. Aggressively left-field shout is Jonas Eidevall. If he wanted a ticket into the mens game, I think it'd be an exciting move.
  22. I was hoping to see a 'big' outgoing in the summer to give us financial wiggle room, and wonder if January is the time to finally do it. Obviously, losing our best players is frustrating but this squad needs bolstering. I'm weighing up what's more valuable, keeping the Scott/Semenyo or utilising money from a sale to give us squad depth and maybe an important defensive player. I understand we seem likely to remain within FFP which is really great news. This is definitely an argument for trying to keep the top talent at the club, as we don't need to sell to swerve a potentially devastating points deduction. But even with this factored in, is making a sale still in the clubs best interest? Could we cash in on Antoine if he excels in Qatar? Do we really bite the bullet and listen to Scott offers? As things are at the moment, could we afford to sack Nige even if we wanted to? Just trying to gauge peoples opinions, really interested to hear poeples' takes.
  23. Nasimith's injury was reported as 7-10 days, 63 years ago. Don't hold your breath.
  24. I've been firm in the stance that we'll stay up as I believe our squad is simply too good not to. 2 wins in 12, and no teams really cast adrift via a points deduction or something, has me nervous.
