Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
George Rs replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Don’t agree with little scope for development point, look at the improvements Zaks made at 25/26. Do agree with the rest though, much like Azaz this is one we should’ve been over much early. -
That double 2 would’ve been it if littler got it I feel, thrown humphries a lifeline
-
Exactly! Would’ve been a player I’d be happy to see us sign at the start of January not right on the deadline, oh wait…
-
Was thinking this, looks much bigger in his interview then some of the clips I’ve seen of him!

Damn that’s a shame! Feel very sorry for him being out for so long. -

Feel the same about Conway, that role does not suit his strengths at all and even so he barely gets the ball to feet in the box anyway. Might’ve tried to play more positive in the second half but as soon as we had possession Millwall reverted to a 5-4-1 which we couldn’t break down. Mehmeti lacks the pace to be dangerous unless we can consistently get the ball to him on the edge of the box, which we didn’t do today, and Bell doesn’t have good enough close control at pace to make his speed useful either. And I’m sure he’s a lovely lad but Cornick looks completely out of his depth at this level. Like others have said, a very midtable side, what annoys me is we had the means to change that in the summer but didn’t, countless games we could’ve picked up more points if we had a bit more quality. Having Atkinson, Mccrorie and potentially Benarous coming back from injury will help us, but still think we need at least two attacking signings with different strengths to what we have currently to make a considerable playoff push. A lack of variety makes games like this extremely difficult to win. -

A striker is an absolute most imo, need a talk physical striker for games like this. And an attacking midfielder. Have no answer for a teams low block whatsoever. -

When you sell £35m of attacking threat and spend 10% if that to replace them it’s pretty straightforward your attack will suffer. We look very composed and in control against a midtable side though, which is a good positive to take, but will find it hard to keep chasing playoff positions without reinforcing our attacking threat, especially through the middle. Hopefully January can fix that. -

Feel for conway, not even feeding off scraps we just cant put the ball to his feet in front of goal. I understand trying to stretch them but the distance between our front 3 is huge, with James and Williams as the 2 holders we just look so blunt going forward. Decent passing, making millwall work harder then brum and apart from a few risky passes have been defensively sound. -

Did look a bit leggy at brum tbf -
Foden, Eze, Maddison and palmer if they go will all go as “forwards”. I would be absolutely mind blown if mason mount gets on the plane, class player, but the Man U move has been a disaster for him. Rice and Bellingham can both play in the deeper midfield roles, which probably leaves two other midfielder spots free as Bellingham Maddison and Foden can all occupy the no10 and the Euros is only a 23 man squad I think. He would have to get in over all but one of JWP, Kalvin Phillips, Gallagher, Jones, Elliot, Rico Lewis and Hendo I think. So potentially a year too early for him but there is still a possibility especially if theirs injuries.

Especially without playing in it!

Reckon that side might just stay up in the prem (I know Tammy was a loan but I miss him and you do to )

Every time I come to St Andrews I’m suprised by its capacity, doesn’t look like it can sit 30k at all. -

Think that part is very underrated, most would have a wild shot after that kind of run. Look at Sterling against wolves as a good example. I think the euros might becoming a tad to early but would be 2 if he didn’t make the wc squad in 2026, bar injuries ofc. -

Can someone explain how this sits with the rest of the sides in the division, obviously as a business a championship football club is rarely going to be profitable but how much of a loss do we make compared with those around us?
-
Does that suggest we got the 9.5m upfront? Would make a lot of sense as I thought he’d go a for a couple million more but if it was paid largely upfront that would’ve changed things.
-
Question, in the summary it says there was a large rise (£6m) in staff costs partly due to more non footballing events happening at the stadium meaning more staff both permanent and temporary had to be brought on. Doesn’t Lansdown own the stadium? Why are non football related costs of it being accounted for in BCFC accounts? Someone please explain for me.
-
Thats down what £140,000 a week from last year? Without the Scott sale. I don’t know all too much about football finances but they seem to be doing a good job reducing losses year on year!

Only on OTIB can we beat two play-off contenders and some people seem angrier then before the two games- 604 replies
