  1. It's a tough call either way. Much like the police closing a road if they think the injured could possibly die they close the road to collect evidence. I am guessing the person today was so ill they may not have survived. The announcement would be delayed until the next of kin have been contacted. I don't think there is an answer to this, each case will be different and the rights and wrongs will be judged with the benefit of hindsight, a wonderful thing.
  2. '.....and the roof has just come off at Ashton Gate...' Well, we can hope. Not sure this team is as good yet as that one was. Good quote from a 'Trotter'.
  3. Had a look at Gaschat yesterday, some have already booked a hotel in Liverpool. Free to cancel, but talk about tempting fate...
  4. Random question, how far away from the ground have you heard City score, either late arriving or early leaving?
  5. 1-2, the crowd sneak back...
  6. 0-2 now at Hull. Exodus time. Noticed how much waving of hands the coaches have done during the game. Do players ever take any notice?
  7. I have done a quick search for health & safety regarding patio chairs. Briefly, don't stand on them as the plastic legs may buckle and remember to tie them down during windy weather. Hope this helps avoid any unnecessary accidents.
  8. Majority of the country? Is that using the same maths as 'the blue half of Bristol'?
  9. Good point. I have changed my mind about the pasty.....
  10. Hang on, a free pasty? I might be tempted. Can I get the pasty and leave or do I have to watch the football too?
  11. I have asked on here before but no answers. Was it where the 'big' screen was, well the TV bought off the Lansdown's? Maybe it will be fitted back into there? Or perhaps there is a big rubbish bin to lob out of date food packaging into. Or maybe they just ran out of seats.
  12. Clever that they kept the branding on there as recycling and repurposing is cool these days.
  13. A past comment on that thread:- ......if, as seems more likely, it's just some cheap stands with pillars plonked either side of the crappy old East Stand then it will be seriously underwhelming. As it stands today (excuse pun), has anyone seen any evidence that their new owners have the £$€ to rebuild the ground or improve the squad? They have done well to get rid of JB and appoint a decent replacement but that is about it so far.
  14. I have read these type of comments before. A cup tie against PL opposition, a transfer window, possible opportunities. Whilst it initially sounds good, personally it feels a bit needy to me and any loans should be for the right player from any club for specific reasons, not because we are rubbing shoulders with a bigger opponent.
  15. I haven't read their news but maybe this is some sort of ruse to get planning permission. Extend what is there, keep it low profile as an 'extension', then, once the footprint is established, apply for permission on the basis that it is only replacing new for old. More pillars on the way then.
  16. I don't see anyway near as much of City as the rest of you but my hunch is that Tommy was maybe looking sharper (maybe others too up front) when we played more on the break and had less possession. If I was a striker, watching my mates pass the ball indefinitely in our own half, I think I would switch off. You want your strikers poised to run into space at every moment but they won't be making those runs if they don't get the passes. The top teams keep the ball but can play a quick ball too when gaining possession. I think that is where LM is trying to get us to, we might need to be a bit more patient. Happy to be told this is nonsense as it is based on a hunch from reading match reports on OTIB rather than hours of spectating! Bottom line - keep Tommy!
  17. Maybe they could ask the Post Office to manage the ticket sales? Edit, just read that wise crack on our own ticket thread! Too slow again...
  18. Sorry you won't get to the game, the bit I don't get is that the ticket selling policy decision to outsource was Rovers' decision, yes? Why not have an in house system? It is in Rovers power to change that if it isn't working?
  19. Sounds like the day trippers with their packed lunches are ahead of the game on this one!
  20. Does anyone think that this hypothetical game at Anfield would really attract 61k? Rovers fans can fantasise about the potential income but I suggest there would be some empty seats.
  21. Not sure where their arrogance around day trippers comes from. You would think they would recognise what could be new, regular fans if they welcomed them. As a club that has lower crowds than City, City Women and the rugby, they can't afford to be picky.
  22. I would have had him cleaning Cheesley's boots.
  23. Good decision. There isn't one of the promotion team that I would have swapped for him. Bench player. .
