  1. We have it cracked then. Check the time, sign the hand and then the standard kiss of the badge. If he was at the Mem he could run to the imaginary south stand and wave to no one.
  2. He is a professional player, crack on, get a hat trick and show them what they are missing. Maybe he has a goal celebration in mind? Pretend to write his signature on his hand or something.
  3. I'd have the Posh run out 15 minutes late.
  4. That's no way to talk about your own fans.....
  5. Not surprised. The entertainment continues . Interesting to compare the recent photo in the press article with that on street view, when there was just Steve's big screen. Very different for the locals.
  6. Maybe that is what they mean when they say the stand is temporary?
  7. I am fine with the fund raising idea, there will always be richer clubs than your own. But this is supposed to be the 6th richest club. Only a couple of weeks ago their fans were saying they needed to adjust to their new found wealth. Which is it?
  8. Mildly amusing that when you see these things, the injured player is often ignored (possibly unconscious) on the pitch whilst their team mates focus on some hand bags nearby. Not what my 1st aid course taught me!
  9. All a bit difficult to believe. Rovers have a media room?
  10. Had to chuckle yesterday afternoon, I was checking all the scores on the BBC web page and they had all of L1 below a huge number of Scottish Cup 1st round fixtures, teams and places I had never even heard of. About right.
  11. I suppose most would call the Mem the pits.
  12. They are nearly in DRS range. However they were lapped several seasons ago.
  13. I have never seen anything like it. The temporary stand within the temporary stand. The warm up goal position lining up with the mini stand seems to add to the visual disturbance inside the brain, as though the ball boys could have a kick about when the ball is up the other end during the match. This photo will probably trigger migraines for some people. Those pillars.......are we sure this is a football stand and not another IKEA? As for the size of it, I would say it looks way bigger than the diagrams submitted. There may be accurate dimensions in the written info but the pictures are inaccurate. They may need a new hack saw.....
  14. This is the network quality issue which gets forgotten. The providers publish their signal strength maps but that is only part of the issue. Whilst the nearest mast might provide a good radio signal, the ongoing network connectivity bandwidth is invisible to the public and will dictate how much data can be carried at one time. Do 5G users find the same issue? That normally means a fibre link from the mast to the network so should provide improved performance.
  15. That can't be right - we are talking about the 6th richest club here.
  16. Surprised he wasn't able to say when the goals were going to be scored. Didn't realise the San Siro had pillars.
  17. I can't be arsed to read through it all TBH but that was the talk previously. It should be on there if it is relevant to noise created at the back of the stand towards the neighbours. Or the smell of filet steak and lobster that will surely be on the menu.....
  18. Thanks. Having said that though, anything can be moved, particularly steel works, so what would make a stand permanent? Why differentiate at the planning stage? It just sounds like something to placate the locals, as if to say, 'don't worry, it won't always be here'. There will be a concourse apparently, presumably proper toilets, so this isn't going to be going anywhere else anytime soon. It isn't like your neighbours pop up gazebo which comes down once we get past the garden BBQ time of year.
  19. Nail on the head there. Even speaking as someone who has great memories of that end, the current situation makes a lot of sense. Segregation across the same stand is a waste of space and causes more trouble for the stewards. It looks a bit naff too, as though the ground has not been fully thought through.
  20. Ok, so we have a major flaw here in their comments on this subject. They say permission should be a given as what is being built is not much different so should not upset the locals, then when it suits them say it is a massive stand and a huge step forward. Which is it? Also, maybe someone can explain please, when they say the stand is temporary, what does that mean? At The Rec in Bath, the east stand there is/was classed as temporary and it is/was removed every summer at huge cost, I believe, to open up the ground space. I can't believe they will do that at the Mem, so are they just classifying it as temporary to make permission easier when in truth it will just stay there all the time? Thing is, the way this has been handled will undoubtedly upset the locals and the council such that any further improvements* will start off on the back foot and receive no favour from anyone. (*hard to improve on perfection, obviously).
  21. I have absolutely no idea what they are trying to say there.
  22. Maybe it is deliberate for the new stand to make a quarter of the pitch dark. It's all part of 'da famous quarterz init'?
  23. Think if it as a commercial break. The main event will resume shortly with more laughs!
