  1. There is a sign saying 'keep off the pitch' at the end of the clip. Ref thinks that includes the players?
  2. Sounds a great mini career, I guess we would love to hear some anecdotes although what goes on pitch side stays pitch side so wouldn't want you breaking any confidences.
  3. Wholly appropriate! What it is there for.
  4. Just popped over there and it seems they are back to the 6th richest club attitude:- ...... I get a feeling many gasheads can't get their heads around the fact we are no more rag bag Rovers , but are a club that to some extent have money to burn , for the first time since I have been following the club anyway. I think some of us need to come to terms with our new found wealth. ?
  5. The pasty hut - these things take thyme....
  6. Ah right, so the pasty hut took precedence over the mammoth new stand. Excellent work.?
  7. The BP released some info about him. The summary is he is apparently a business man rather than an immensely rich investor. The same article I have just found quoted Wael talking about the new stand. "We're hostage to events that are out of control in terms of just getting approvals or contractors and timelines. You can plan all you want to get what you want done in a month or two but in reality when you come to execute, things get delayed.' Plan all you want to? Or just not bother?
  8. Zealots is a good observation. The management of their club seems to be divisive, marmite. Usually the truth is somewhere in the middle but the polarising effect is strong these days for them. We get a bit of that on OTIB but there seems to be more of a consensus and I think that stems from an understanding of the eye watering finances of football rather than a blind desperation to overtake your nearest rivals. May be wrong, but that is how I see it. Of course, it all depends so much on the most recent result which was a good one!
  9. Out of curiosity I have used an online inflation calculator to work out the value of something from 1992 in today's money. £370k in 1992 would work out at £773k today, so in adjusted value, signing a player for £800k would not really shatter any records or shake any grounds (assuming they intended to go ahead with the deal). The calculator works from CPI, not that footballers can be considered as household items! More luxury goods perhaps.
  10. Maybe the plan is to dismantle the Mem and move it to the FM site. Recycling is such an important part of life these days.....
  11. Ah yes, the pillars. Nice touch that. They should be queueing up for those restricted views if they have any sense. Or do the Man City poznan thing and look the other way.
  12. Whatever is required I am sure there will be someone asked to keep their hand in by fixing it.
  13. Not great for watching a game if you are sat in the stadium ?.
  14. Saw that design in Spain where they provide shaded car parking.
  15. Seeing as the pitch retracts along one touchline that might explain why there are fewer wingers in the game these days.
  16. Rovers taken the other option and gone for a retractable stand at the south end. Unfortunately it takes about 10 months for it to disappear and reappear.
  17. Amongst all the mysteries the Barton media paywall thing is still under their control. Whilst they can't rewind the clock for planning permission and transfer deadlines they can still put right that wrong.
  18. The trip we did down the east coast about 5 years ago, we set off from Cala Bona (against my better judgement!) but only did a quarter of the journey. The chop and roll was so bad a chap was tipped out of his wheelchair on the fore deck. We got off at Porto Cristo a few miles later and got a taxi back!
  19. They do seem to have a problem with dates and times. Planning permission - months late. Transfer registration - they had all summer. I thought Wael had a nice watch?
  20. It makes you wonder if they thought it was a midnight deadline. What were they doing for those few hours? Was there something good on TV?
  21. Have always enjoyed Mallorca for all the obvious reasons. Every holiday though there is the family chat at some point - 'let's do a boat trip'. It hasn't always worked out well.....in my opinion, the waters always seem choppy. You get on a tourist catamaran which is double decker and therefore top heavy so it rolls a lot. 15 minutes in, all those who had a breakfast are regretting it. Me, Mr Cautious who had a glass of water and a couple of pool mints is ok and ends up looking after the others. Happens most times even when it looks like calm waters from the beach. Any hot boating tips MR? I was thinking a private rental might be better next time?
  22. That's where we were, flew back 2 days ago. The beach won 5th place in the TripAdvisor 'Best European Beach 2023' poll. 1st went there in 1987, still great.
