  1. I don't know how agents work with players and contracts so please correct me if I am wrong in thinking they get a small % of any deal for their part in it making it happen. If so, why would an agent do something to risk it failing? Not in their interests?
  2. Great idea but when last seen some of it seemed to be en route to Menorca at high speed, skimming across the sea so he will have to enquire there instead.
  3. Our hotel bar was flooded, the retractable roof on the pool was wrecked and a pool side parasol went flying through a glass wind break. One barman cut his hand, could have been worse. Nice time though.
  4. They were a pleasant bunch, no club shirts of any sport on display, though anything red or blue would have probably clashed with the green tinge around the face..... From what I saw in Mallorca the last 2 years, wearing club shirts is more of a German thing these days.
  5. Flew back from Mallorca yesterday. The planes both out and back to Bristol seemed to be mostly Welsh. I think I read somewhere that Cardiff airport had lost some of its holiday trade so that might explain it. The win at Swansea was brilliant. I was tempted to raise the subject but the flight had the worst turbulence I have experienced. With some sickness and crying going on around me it wasn't the time and place for banter. Much celebration greeted the successful landing.
  6. A rubber suit and a night out at a curry house. Not a good mix.?
  7. There were 40,000 who would have made it but they are all still stuck abroad waiting for flights home.
  8. Oooh, good question. No football stand in the background so I am going with the southern end of The Mem.
  9. Maybe they all work for an asbestos removal company?
  10. That sums up where they have got themselves to. We know football is a money game. I don't expect them to perform miracles on the pitch. All clubs have their good and bad times. But, you want your club to make some sort of progress with things that are actually within their control, to do the best they can with what they have. There have been too many off the pitch mistakes.
  11. That sort of comment sounds like my school days (a very long time ago) when a girl, having been dropped by her boyfriend, would say 'never fancied you anyway'.
  12. Toy Story memes? Clearly Mr Potato Head was working the fax machine the other night.
  13. I think the key point was they lost Loft the same night. If it was all smoke and mirrors they would have kept Loft?
  14. I have read a few spy thrillers in my time, usually on holiday by the pool. Can't recall lower league football management being a theme to be honest. Maybe this plonker is onto something here? Rough out the plot and get it sent to some publishers, could be onto a winner. I am sure a broken fax machine, broken sprinklers and forgotten planning permission will make a ripping read.
  15. A few words pasted from the BBC match report:- '.......The margin of victory did not reflect the gulf in class between the sides, with Swansea rarely troubling their opponents........'
  16. That can't be part of it surely? Halfords use those to change the light bulbs and wiper blades in their car park?
  17. Have to say, he looks delighted at the news....
  18. It is raining outside on the last day of my holiday and I have been packing in a sad mood. Thanks to City and OTIB (especially the goal clips) for cheering me up. Brilliant result.
  19. The analogy here is that JCH has dodged a bullet by Rovers messing up the paperwork. It changes the meaning of 'a done deal' too. Nice work Baldrick.
  20. Excellent post, might be lost on some but brilliant nonetheless and a brilliant comedy series. 'Cappuccino Sir?'
  21. Well that's a funny start to the weekend, thanks to everyone involved. They were supposed to have gained a forward but have ended up net 2 down. It will be interesting to see what JB makes of all this. Will the new co owner want someone to blame? What if the blame sits with a mate of JB?
  22. It is possible that by the time AS was sold, targets that NP had in mind had already been signed up elsewhere. So not what happened, but when.
  23. Not that clever, it's not rocket science.?
  24. To summarise then, the OP asked a good question!
