Re the Atyeo, we should put some sound absorbing material into the roof. About exciting players, whilst a weaving winger type can get past their man, we have seen Bell as the left side forward enjoy the chance to run into space past defenders. Not always the best finisher but that will come. I think last season we struggled to break teams down at home and looked more threatening away but we have to see Bell out wide as the 'out ball' option, that will pull the defence across and create space in the middle for the other breaking players to run into. Mehmeti has his moments, I would encourage him just to concentrate on wrong footing a defender just enough to get a good cross in, I don't expect him to run past 3 defenders and score a world class goal.

I find this background material fascinating. We see heros and villains for just 90 minutes a game but they all have a life. At some point they all get home and find the washing machine has leaked, the energy company has got the bill wrong again and the broadband has gone down. Or worse as we read here.

If Lokrum isn't included as a stop you can get a water taxi there from the old harbour front, very close by, only about 5 or 10 minutes in the boat I think. A good place to be on a very hot day and you escape the cruise ship hoardes in the old town.

I said earlier in the tournament that when England got fouled they stayed on their feet when they could or should have gone down. Refreshing or naive? Not sure. I didn't like the Spanish habit of copying the men and screaming and diving but maybe that comes from having the male head coach? It was one of the more cynical games at this finals.

Let's not start this 'our fans are better than yours' malarkey. If you read this thread you will know we have videos and pictures aplenty to embarrass you and maybe you could quote some stories back but the amount of past material on here is huge and none of it would be complimented by any 3rd party.

I can understand why a team would find the Mem off putting to play at. Not because of the fans or atmosphere but because it is not the sort of stadium they would be used to as professional footballers. A confusing mess of tents and now with a few bushes and back gardens at one end. The radio commentators will be saying 'Rovers will play towards the patio end in this 1st half'. We see this every season in the FA cup, a Prem side will go to a non league side with a ground like the Mem and struggle to switch on mentally and play their normal game.

I think we all knew where we were. If AS had stayed and then got a serious injury we would be in a much worse situation.
