  1. Also seen at this stadium, England winning the rugby world cup final in 2003. ???
  2. Just went back to see those as I couldn't recall sitters as such. One was a glancing header over the top from close in, the other was an awkward volley from a goalie punch. Decent chances, yes, sitters? Maybe to her. She was blowing at the end and did not close down our defence at all, understandable but it gave us a breather at the back when we needed it. We took our chances well.
  3. Hope the Aussies who spent the whole game booing England enjoyed that.
  4. Fine goal that. A good run, a good pass, a good finish. 6 minutes added on?
  5. He did, Alex Scott was in investment that gave us a £25m income.
  6. ??? Really, you would be better off getting yourself down to the planning office to protest about your missing stand than trying to wind us up.
  7. Hemp is so composed on the ball, not scared to turn and look up. I would like to see us play the ball forward earlier, a bit too keen to pass back when we win possession when an earlier ball would find more space. Having got ahead, we should have the experience to pass Oz out of the game. Agree about the ref, not giving us any 50/50 calls which is a worry when the ball is in our box.
  8. So you are saying your hero knows nothing about Championship teams? What does that say about his knowledge of poor L1 sides?..... I guess he has been rather busy dealing with all his legal troubles over the years! Just to recap, from wiki:- On 20 May 2008, he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for common assault and affray during an incident in Liverpool City Centre.[3] Barton served 74 days of this prison term, being released on 28 July 2008.[4] On 1 July 2008, he was also given a four-month suspended sentence after admitting assault occasioning actual bodily harm on former teammate Ousmane Dabo during a training-ground dispute on 1 May 2007.[5] This incident effectively ended his Manchester City career.[6] Barton has been charged with violent conduct three times by The Football Association: for the assault on Dabo,[7] for punching Morten Gamst Pedersen in the stomach[8] and for attacking three players on the final day of the 2011–12 season.[9]
  9. Not a big fan of this blue kit. A lot of talk about Kerr, if she isn't 100% then let's knock it about, she won't want to press.
  10. The odd thing about Joey (ok, there may be more than one) is that all other managers would be saying 'this is a great win but there is much more to do, we will stay grounded and focus on the next game, taking them one at a time'. Nope, not JB, he is already planning his tactics for the Man City home game in 2026.
  11. Someone with the username Phantom is asked if they are human? ? Very clever these security portals.?
  12. They are going to be in the Premier League? 3 points on the road with a last minute winner is always exciting, but Premier League? Does he think that they are the only club with ambition and try to win football matches? Getting slightly carried away there JB.
  13. There's good and bad everywhere I think and football is no different. I am sure there are some great characters within their fans. In terms of the place itself, many years ago I worked all over the country, from Lands End to Aberdeen, from Haverfordwest to Great Yarmouth. Of all the places I went to, the east end of London was the place I disliked being in the most. Unhelpful people, impossible traffic, miserable hotels, concrete surroundings. I couldn't wait to get out and remind myself what trees and cows looked like. Sorry if that offends anyone, just how I saw it back then.
  14. '....... the usual chorus of Goodnight Irene will be replaced by an eerie silence......' Well, that's an upgrade I suppose.
  15. Thanks for the Twitter pastes. You can understand the frustration from the average fans who pay good money when times are hard and expect better. Success on the pitch is never easy, treating your fanbase with respect can be planned for.
  16. Could you paste some onto here please? I don't do Twitter so can't see them.
  17. Thanks for bringing the stadium back into the conversation. If Rovers spend big and get promoted then fair enough, any promotion is tough, but the wage bills for the various divisions tell the story about what is needed in terms of quality, there is a big difference. Having an 'eye for midfielders' is not enough in itself if the signings are all loans. The joint owners have one thing right, these things do take time. Why they then try to take short cuts is a mystery.
  18. I guess the final Atyeo cost would have included the addition of the previous changing rooms and facilities?
  19. I think I can get that at my local Chinese takeaway.
  20. Rovers media team are filming a spin off series - Four in a Stand.
  21. From Gaschat, politics on their side with voter numbers apparently:- 10000+ active Bristol Rovers fans (many based/voting in Bristol) and 40,000+ passive 'fans' based on Wembley attendances..
  22. I hadn't read anything about a covenant before. Is that not a huge block to the FM deal? Not easy to over turn I think, especially with the hugely sensitive nature of the background to it?
  23. Reading that interview, if I was a Rovers fan I would be disappointed and concerned. It is very PR speak. As mentioned above, the builders won't just put the kettle on and wait weeks and months for permission to be granted. They will be off on their next projects, building elsewhere. They cannot afford to sit around and when permission is presumably granted, I would imagine there will be another delay before the physical work resumes as they are unlikely to drop what they are doing at that time. This is costing me a fortune in popcorn! ?
  24. I have always thought that pro players of any sport need the best possible support when they retire. We read too many sad stories of lives going pear shaped when the cheers or jeers of the crowd go quiet for them, particularly important if injury shortens their time in the game. All the best to Nathan and any others who won't be running out this season.
