  1. Recently had 10 nights in Italy, lakes and mountains. Saw only 1 football shirt the whole time, a Man U shirt on a young girl. Was also in Italy for the World Cup 2006 around when they beat Germany in the semi. No flags on houses or cars, no shirts being worn. Mind you when they won the semi the town went nuts, all the locals from nearby villages came into town in farm trucks and tractors and spent the night driving around sounding horns and waving flags. My father in law wanted an Italian football shirt brought back but I had to wait until the airport duty free before I could find on on sale. Football shirts seems to be a British thing apart from Germany or do I have that wrong?
  2. Inevitably politicians get dragged into things and the media like to play their games. Let's hope that the facts about the timing of the planning application and the starting of work without permission are not lost in any war of words. The staff who work for the council are not paid to be part of a blame game played out on social media. They can only do what their working day allows.
  3. I don't know the lie of the land exactly but would it be possible for a ball to theoretically clear the ground and roll all the way to the IKEA roundabout via Alton Road and Muller Road?
  4. I am not a broadcast engineer but I thought ISDN was a 1980s technology....
  5. A brilliant photo, thanks for sharing. Looks like the subs bench was different back then.?
  6. Statement in a tent (sure we have done that joke before!).
  7. And the Aussies can stick their boos up their Billabong. Come on England.
  8. We have a problem with this ref I think..... Only looking one way so far, could bite us 2nd half, hope not.
  9. Nice words to read. It isn't as thought we have a free pass with development, the Atyeo end has its compromises of course. If you try to develop a stadium using retired trades and without permission for the price of a nice watch then you get the result we see today. Time for the '6th richest club' to step up and stop moaning.
  10. A cross that was celebrated like a genius chip and a goal keeping nightmare. About fair so far, the commentators are cheesing me off though, talking up Colombia all the time. The ref has missed some heavy challenges on England.
  11. Taking this further, just what are the rules? Is it a touchline ban or stadium ban? Are they allowed a radio link in which case the ban is a bit meaningless? Should he be forced to sit in a concrete bunker watching daytime TV? Or worse still watching a live link of his team? Always wondered about these rules.
  12. Wasn't it bought from one Lansdown's businesses? Sabotage! Should have kept it and put some chairs on top.
  13. It didn't work? That may have been our fault ?
  14. Of course, someone would risk losing their job by doing something so stupid ?. Maybe we re directed their planning application too. It's all a conspiracy.
  15. Is it about efficiency? The article comments suggest that demolishing the old stand before getting planning permission was not the 'brightest' move but then who actually took that decision?
  16. ......with the first draw commencing after we hit 500 members....... Sounds a bit extreme. Why don't they just ask them nicely instead?
  17. As I think I said on another thread, we should be able to judge this better at the end of the season, not just on league position but also with any replacements and in how the existing squad step up and take on the role. In the meantime, well done the club for producing such a fine player.
  18. Just to add, I have a knock on my right knee at the moment. I am sure that is the reason I won't be selected this weekend.
  19. Maybe the reason Nige is a but grumpy is we turned down offers just below this one weeks ago when there were possible targets available for him to go for as a replacement? Perhaps those players went elsewhere. Maybe this is about timing. Just guessing.
  20. Football aside, the Bournemouth area has to be a bit nicer for AS to live in than Wolverhampton. Just my opinion having been to both places. About the ambition thing, it just comes down to maths and making gradual progress. We will judge this better at the end of the season.
  21. Not for me to say but my wife looked stunning which is the important thing. Going back to the photo, I thought they would be wearing da famous quarterz to a match? Maybe the mention of a Bristol City hotel on the sleeve was too much to bear.
