  1. If you ask my wife, I didn't pull it off. (The look).
  2. Sadly, apart from the face, that's pretty much how I looked on my wedding day in the 80s.
  3. '...........we hugged, now that’s the Gas spirit. 07.45am - 06.08.23 - Busan - South Korea.' At 07.50am, he woke up and realised it was only a nightmare.
  4. Many times over the last couple of seasons Bristol Rovers have had attendances larger than the current maximum attendance. 1. Evidence? The reduced capacity negates this comment. 2. If true it only explains why a club wants to do something. It doesn't support a decision. 3. If it was so obvious, why hadn't the club applied earlier since they had known for 2 seasons?
  5. Reminds me of how in recent years we have sometimes just been called Bristol on TV.
  6. Having loads of Rovers support documents on the portal won't help at all. It is all about process and their club has not followed it. Too little, too late. Join the back of the queue.
  7. Just think how it could have been handled. Consult with the locals 1st, find out how they could sweeten the build by including facilities that could be used by the community on non match days, all sorts of potential there. Society is crying out for childcare or elderly social facilities that could be part of a new build. Have a plan, perfect it, submit to the council in good time. They are falling between 2 ideas, the fruityhad dream and short term crowd increase at the Mem. This means they could fail at both and in the meantime additionally get all the bad publicity of the postponed build, disabled access and smaller crowds.
  8. Important point this, as the weather gets cold or maybe someone has missed food on the way in after a big journey (diabetics?), being able to grab a hot pie or similar inside the ground should not be difficult. Personally I would probably stuff food from home in my pockets but a hot snack and a hot coffee just before ko is a good thing in winter.
  9. Beat me to it! 84m 47s if anyone wants a chuckle.
  10. Or 'the football club's forgotten the planning permission' Do we need to add the apostrophe to the thread title? 'Bristol R*ver's dustbin thread' ?
  11. Having gone to the trouble of going to Portsmouth, why wasn't he watching the football? Or at least watching where he was standing.
  12. Are you going to sell the coal that has been removed by the piling rigs? Energy prices will start to rise soon.
  13. I though England could have been more street wise. Nigeria closed down well and were physical but there were many times when England got nudged off the ball and could have gone down for a free kick. We did the decent thing, stayed on our feet but ultimately lost possession a lot.
  14. If it was me deciding it would be south before north.
  15. Forget the football! It seems the pitch is too sticky, the clock doesn't work right, not enough pies in the ground and wrong crowd in the Lansdown! Sky Sports should be mentioning all of this in their live reports (with just a final note to say that the score was 1-1).
  16. Might be wrong but it looks as though the 1st few rows are not under the roof? Apart from that, very smart. Also smart getting it planned first.
  17. At least when they get relegated next time by a team wearing their own kit it will have less of a Rovers look to it.
  18. I noticed before the strange cross patterns on those shirts. Are they the assembly instructions for the new stand? As for the words 'Bristol City....' appearing on their shirts, personally I would rather they didn't!!
  19. Retired trades people 'keeping their hand in' ??
  20. Out of season bin and skip photos on OTIB - cool..... (referring to the stand in the background, not the blue and white thing in front of it).
  21. My guess is the people who came up with such a great shirt idea are not the same as those making the poor decisions which put their club in such a bad light.
  22. Pride? Geez. At least they found a remaining stand for him to pose in front of. Out of shot is a view of back gardens, mud, pi$$ed off neighbours and abandoned ground works. They might as well plant some veg in the mud for what is left of the summer. A nice herb garden maybe? These things take thyme..... boom boom tiss.
  23. I have never cared for fast cars and big houses but reckon that could strangely change very quickly if I won the lottery..... I reckon they should hang on to any spare £500k in case they need it to look after their own fans and visiting fans better whilst the stand fiasco plays out.
  24. With all the bad things that can cross your path in life, if you have a comic forum thread that can make you laugh every time you read it then I am fine with being mis represented as obsessed. We have years of material to reflect on even if Rovers somehow achieved a tiny proportion of their hopes this season.
