  1. Also, re done the pitch and drainage twice? 'Do it right, do it once'.
  2. Surely somebody has pointed out that he might not have actually paid the going rate for it all as the club has asked retired trades to come along and 'keep their hand in'.
  3. It has become a modern past time, admiring the background of kitchens and bookcases in endless TV interviews with people at home via Zoom or something. It made my wife arrange all the books in our bookcase in colour order and now I can't find anything! Well done Andy, planning for after playing is so important. If the coaching doesn't work out it looks like interior design could be an option.
  4. Not a fork in the ground? Could be making fun of the catering.
  5. That's ageism. What about those who worked on the 1st Severn Bridge?
  6. Rovers' boss Joey Barton said: "Jevani is an exciting talent. He can operate across the midfield and forward areas and will bring another dimension to our team. The 4th dimension is time, right?
  7. There might be some really boring stuff to do on leaving that might require a visit, maybe a tablet or laptop to hand in, access pass etc. Just like normal jobs?
  8. Taking a wider view, things like criminal violence have punishments as a deterrent to stop people doing it in the future. One of those deterrents is limiting employment prospects but in this regard it seems Rovers don't care. If City acted the same I believe I would feel the same. Credit to FP for saying what he has. I am not Bristolian but would stick my neck out and say I reckon there are probably a lot of Rovers fans who feel the same about Joey and some of the other staff. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance but maybe not a 3rd or 4th. There really are things more important than football and Rovers would gain a lot of goodwill by clearing out that bad feeling around the present culture, set an example from the top. It is not as though Barton has them on the verge of the Prem. Re Fordingbridge as a place, I agree with others. Had a great sunny lunch stopover on the way home recently, right on the river. Nice place to live.
  9. '.....how far we have come in recent times.' ??
  10. He looks like he is really, really looking forward to having it out with his agent.
  11. Has the new grass died off already? It doesn't look, well, busy exactly. One man with a giant allen key. Maybe there is a hold up somewhere delaying work.
  12. What a masterpiece of self promotion that article is. Obviously desperate for some limelight. Classless.
  13. I can just imagine an overseas player, living a great Mediterranean lifestyle thinking, yep I must leave my home country to play for a team like BR.... Dodgy stadium plans, dodgy manager, unknown finance, poor facilities. Why, why, why.....?
  14. Lost me there I am afraid. Are they real people or have I missed a joke?
  15. 'helped him to select the correct seat.....' ?? Not sure that the choice of white plastic patio chairs from 1985 are something that they should be proud to offer anyone.
  16. Nah, that all went once Dad lifted me off the stanchion! I was the only kid at my school who watched pro games until a lad moved out of Bristol to Wiltshire, fortunately from the red 3/4 of Bristol, or was it 4/5?
  17. Excellent news, I heard what he was planning to do and feared he might suffer and not complete it. Brilliant effort that.
  18. No, the opposite. I was small and skinny. But still slow! Knew what I wanted to do with the ball, thought I was Trevor Tainton but sadly did not have the talent to put it into practice. Maybe Rovers will give me a call.
  19. The sensible ones over there will know that the big clubs get 1st dibs on the quality talent because they have the money. Then the good clubs get 2nd dibs, the average clubs 3rd dibs. The poor clubs get the loan signings that are effectively leftover scraps off the dining table as the window closes and the system shakes itself down. It is in effect just like footy at school when the team captains took turns in picking their sides. I will leave you to decide for yourself where Rovers fit into this hierarchy but to give you a hint they are about as high up the pecking order as I was at school! ☹
  20. I think we all had PE teachers like that. Ours were only interested in using the lesson like a boot camp. No one enjoyed it. They each had their favourite sport and didn't care about the other sports they should be teaching. None of them knew about cricket and used to ask me to teach the rest of the class as my Dad was a good player and taught me so much. The misery of rugby in the autumn term will never be forgotten. Apologies for going off topic.
  21. I think you are all missing the advantages of signing a 34 year old. No good signing a promising 24 yo who can't handle an allen key and flat pack furniture. The new stand must be due for delivery any time now and a 34 yo will have had experience in getting by when the diagrams don't match the parts. Great signing.
  22. Quote 'with the Gas stealing him'. Sound familiar?
  23. For me I lost any sympathy for Inter during the game because of their injury fakes. I can't watch that, we saw similar in the World Cup from some players. They need to tap into the spirit of this guy:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-65865904
