  1. He was working on a deal that’s the point. SL was/is looking for partners buyers. Ashton was working on that, but he found buyers that couldn’t afford/want Bristol City/Bristol Sport-but could afford a club with some history and a decent catchment area like Ipswich. The rest is history. When you are interested in investment and acquisition you make as many friends and contacts as possible and this is clearly ongoing at our club. Source Steve Lansdown!
  2. The idea that Ashton was somehow working on a deal with Americans/Ipswich while being employed by Bristol City and no one knew anything is absurd, particularly when taking into account the context of SL stating he was actively looking for investment. I had no idea that a communication had been made to OITB over the mans departure. In my experience if that kind of thing happens in this kind of arena someone is a bit closer to the truth than others may like. If anyone knows anything I would be delighted to hear/read it.
  3. The parallel is here for you. City spent multimillions and ended up dumping a dozen players a couple of months ago after having been easily and statistically the worst team in the division for months. The bloke while not fully responsible (LJ and to a much lesser extent Holden carry their share of the blame as does SL AND JL) he was the CEO and as such he was in charge. Almost the same things are now happening at Ipswich as they did here. I am not at all confident for the future of your club with this man anywhere near the board room.
  4. Yes I have a lot of sympathy with that view. It still didn’t stop me from mowing the living shit out of my lawn, but in retrospect this could lead to minds being concentrated!
  5. Yes. It’s a tough one. I think a lot of thoughts have been skewed by what’s happened in the last minute of the last two games. The way I see it is we have something very definite to work on in that respect. without being brilliant by any means against Blackpool we played ok. We did go deep defending the lead which lead to the goals, so something there too. However we were pants for months last season and as we discussed Pearson was given as much money as he cleared off the payroll and bought the lad from Oxford. I’m not even worrying until September. However I fully expect my lawn to have the living shit mowed out of it!
  6. If it doesn’t matter about details (facts related to goals) of goals then players obviously don’t have to take any responsibility for their actions on the field…..and thus it’s all Pearson’s fault.!
  7. We agree mostly. Tomlin was difficult bloke for LJ to handle. Did you ever here the podcast where Wilbo stated that he went to see LJ over Tomlin. Others have handled Tomlin Wilbo more than implies he took the piss out of LJ and completely lost respect for him and the club. As far as Webster was concerned there was no way the club can keep a player who is subject to a 20m Prem bid. It’s about how you fill those boots. My personal opinion is that Pearson will sort this but last night was a blow due to the fact we don’t have a competitive outlet for a biggish even still squad.
  8. Yeah: But that wasn’t what happened initially. Tomlin, Engval among several others were bought in. Yes I agree that in this regard it’s not necessarily important to point out that the players eventually/initially sold for big profits were not LJs players with a couple of obvious exceptions eventually Brownhill and Webster left for a lot of money. However we were ok initially it was Brownhill going in January that became a huge problem. My personal opinion is that LJ was as at least as responsible as SL and MA for approving the sale and not replacing these guys but it seems that he was given a pass as Ashton took the fall for purchases and sales with many and SL will always be ultimately responsible. After the restart we were terrible. There was only one place to look then. (We had been pretty poor leading up to the suspension of play) Anyway. Pearson has chucked out a dozen of the hangers on and is tasked with cutting back elsewhere substantially. Not really the start LJ had IMO.
  9.! Yah I know it…steaming I respectfully disagree. We started signing players when he came in. Players bought and developed by SC were eventually sold and we started the slow spiral of failing performance and poor footballers (poor footballers here any way) I think the quote from Wilbo was Steve was pretty fed up that he never had the financial backing that LJ did. So am I.
  10. I was so mad at the end I just got up and mowed the living shit out of the lawn. (It’s light where I live) Now I’m calmer. Let no one be under any illusion Johnson and the owner by his consistently backing of a numb nuts stealing a living out of the owners pocket and Mark Chillax Ashton, followed by a bloke who had no luck but was in fact clueless has lead to where we are! Enter Pearson, who has been told no money (the complete diametric opposite of Lee Johnson) unless he creates it. (That should tell you a lot straight away) Thus Pearson gives everyone a chance in the first two games (anyone disagree with this sentence) What we now know is we have a weak stomach as a squad (pardon my simile) However we also know Nagy wants to run away like a b****. Simpson is slower than my mother. Janneh should under no circumstances go on loan. OLeary is a bloody good goal keeper. Our first two center back pairings were mediocre. Wells works harder than anyone for nothing. James is a good player and Massengo had a goal (albeit a Peno in a shootout we lost). A long way to go before the window shuts let alone next effing May!
  11. NP will be pissed off if we go out now. With all our players this is an important competition!
  12. Not sure how to answer your comment s directly. But I just think….this division is a little bit too agricultural (I’m sure you get my drift) than what he needs to excel. I can see him in Italy or Spain doing well and getting on the ball and passing it. Even in the Prem. But here he looks like he offers little but a body with some touch. This can be said of HNM too. They are both in the wrong country in the wrong division, neither of whom offer so much as a shot on target for all their ability’s
  13. Nagy is not suited for the Championship I’ve always thought that to be the case. Nagy, Kalas and Wells all came here in the hope we would have enough for promotion or be close. However LJ and Holden proved that we don’t. Pearson has been tasked with a rebuild and that’s not what they signed on for Nagy looks neat but not the sort you need for a 46 game battle, easily brushed aside and really does not make any difference where ever he plays. Kalas I’m convinced is pretty much yesterday’s man here. Three weeks for an offer to come in and I fully expect it!! Wells I like but I’ve always thought he regretted coming here from the moment LJ wanted to play him out of position. Semenyo. Will help when fit. But along with Bentley could still be subject to interest. I will reserve judgement on any level until EO October as we are very much work in progress and I’m still hopeful we will get stronger than many think we will, however much we feel that today was same old City snatching a draw from the jaws of victory!!

  15. I am completely indifferent to Swindon Town. I Really really don’t care if they survive, get relegated to non league or have to play all their games in Oxford.
  16. Derby County’s owners having been cheating their supporters for years. Dodgy promises built on dodgy books is the stock in trade. Nevertheless supporters post on multiple forums defending their basket case club rather than do something that will change what is happening in their boardroom and restore sanity Personally I could not careless what Division Derby are in as it will just add to the entertainment value either way. No wonder no one wants to buy them the value sinks on a daily basis!
  17. Yes I have been watching far more Rugby. I think it’s a mixture of us being shite for the 41st season in succession, no fans in the stadium, over paid tossers across our club and football in general and blatant cheating which is ignored if you are a marginally well known name! Edit! Also how deluded people (not so sure they are deluded but just trying to defend the position of a basket case football club that has been teetering on the brink of meltdown for ages) completely pointlessly argue! I guess there will be a statement by the authorities on WRDCFC soon, I just wish they would get on with it and it gives a rationale for whatever is decided
  18. Not sure I would agree. If they are in league one they are not a threat. And we get Wycombe a nice easy away game!
  19. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/job-vacancy-bristol-city-women-interim-head-coach/ Any applications @Rudolf Hucker? Joking apart. The last bloke came in nearly saved them and got them to a cup final! Good luck to him!!
  20. LJ didnt hardly play Eisa Sczmodics Adelakun Engval etc etc etc. But he was responsible for bringing them in, unless you believe Mark Ashton did it, without consent. I don’t think Engval is making to many waves (someone who cares please let me know). Eisa and Sczmodics now have a promotion and Adelakun, who knows what’s ahead for him....I guess Nige has seen the vids!
  21. Joey whining about refs again...Love It! I’m sure he’s a mate of LJ!!
  22. I love the guy. His interviews come down to. Black cat, everyone is against us, appalling referee again, agenda against us at higher levels, my players are gutless, no fight they might as well leave, goal was not offside, stonewall Peno etc etc etc Read NOT MY FAULT. SOUNDED JUST LIKE AN LJ INTERVIEW AFTER straight defeats Luckily Joey had some help between 5 n 6 tonight!
