He was quite clear in the interview on 3peaps that he’s relishing the 1 up front and although it’s not what he’s used to it’s something he’s learning and enjoying.
And if he has ambitions of playing at a higher level it's something he'll need to get used to, as most teams in the PL seem to play that way.

Re Murphy, Manning said last week he’s got a lot of (paraphrased) physical / fitness work to do first. I don’t think it should be underestimated the difference in the levels required
Plus he hasn't played since the middle of November.

The U18s are in the Youth Cup tomorrow night so presumably Yeboah, Nelson and one or two others who may have been expected to appear today will be involved in that?

The lesser-spotted Ben Acey on the bench as well.

If they haven't then it says something about academy and pathway to first team. How many actually making it?
Not really. Getting the chance is one thing, proving you're up to it is quite another.

If Rovers have confirmed for Wednesday, we'll be Tuesday. Other days are out as we have Saturday games either side of it.

Zagallo and Beckenbauer gone within a couple of days of each other.
Didier Deschamps must be getting twitchy...

Wonder what plan the club have to get it hopelessly wrong, given that they have got the pricing spot on, they haven't left a lot of room to nause it up.
Half and half scarves that double as lanyards, that's my guess.
Letting West Ham bring a bubble machine...

It's the same situation as with Frankie Fielding. Of course there are better keepers out there, but they'd have to be significantly better than him to justify the amount of money it would take to sign one. It's not a priority.

Would expect confirmation of the date tomorrow, TV will be waiting on the Man Utd game tonight before deciding on what they show and when.

After all that, the Tube strike has been called off at the last minute.

McInnes wasn't helped by his Chief Scout being removed on the recommendation of the Consultant who was working with the club at the time, so had to go with players he knew.
Of course, that Consultant would return a few years later in a much more senior role...

He's a goalscorer. Create things for him and he'll score goals, it's not complicated.

Horrible day for West Ham. Three injured players and the injury to Bowen looked bad.
Plus they were about to have a two week winter break, and instead have to come to AG in 10 days time. Moyes will be fuming.
With Europa League and Prem coming up for them I wonder how fussed they'll be about a cup replay at AG during their "winter break".
Great opportunity for us to progress!
Yep, I suspect that's why he went as strong as he did today, get it won comfortably and avoid any extra games.
Ah well, never mind....

Week on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Decent chance of it being on TV as things stand.

Will sell well amongst 30-somethings (mainly women) who listened to Galaxy/Kiss 20 years ago and want to relive their teenage years. And I suspect the next set of acts to be announced will be of a similar but more modern ilk to attract the younger crowd, so they can pitch it as a day out for all the family.
