People are melting down because we're second best against a quality, established PL outfit.

Genuinely don't think some of you lot could cope if we ever got to the PL. This is what we'd be up against week in week out.

100%. Signed him, then signed Palmer because we could so that was the end of that. Just showed how little thought and analysis was going into recruitment by that point, it was all about stockpiling and trading players.

There was nowhere near as much clamour from fans to sign Palmer as there had been for Kalas in the same summer, or Tomlin a few years before.

Some game at Exeter, Northampton 26-0 down after 20 minutes and end up winning with the last play of the game.

Expected more from Sunderland, they didn't start to have a go until they were 2 down.

People who know more about it than me have said that the new contract has been on the table for some time now.
