  1. Steve is still getting off lightly here imo. He adopted a strategy that was based on assuming that the transfer market would continue to inflate, or at least not deflate, in our favour. I wouldn't expect to have tell someone of his expertise that markets can go down as well as up! In doing that he allowed the wage bill to escalate out of control and did not ensure there was some resilience in our finances. Ashton is a shyster and deserves the stick he gets but the the fact is he was Steve's pet shyster. I and others better qualified have said this many times before but I'm not holding my breath waiting for anyone to challenge Steve on it.
  2. After a rigorous process, interviewing candidates from around the world, it will be decided that Werhun was the best candidate and a good human.
  3. They seem to be getting excited that Bristol Street Motors has become an "official partner" (sponsor in plain English). I'm not sure that means the end of their troubles though.?
  4. Thanks, that is extremely helpful. I suppose a more accurate way of putting it is therefore that the EFL would want the 2 clubs defined as football creditors IF the claims are found in their favour. The EFL has a dilemma. On the one hand Parry wants them to be seen to enforce the rules rigorously. On the other they would not want such a high profile club to go to the wall. Rather them than me! Odds are that if Rooney says it's all the EFL's fault that's what most of the football media will report as anything else would require actual research. Why do that when you could be writing about what Ronaldo has said on social media and getting lots of clicks??
  5. Agreed, IF the 2 clubs concerned have a sustainable case.
  6. Thanks, very informative as usual. I'm still puzzled as to what EFL rules and regulations (P&S or otherwise) the claims are founded on. Any "debt" to Boro and Wycombe is hypothetical unless and until some competent authority (the EFL or the courts) says otherwise. I also doubt the EFL would take a line that would increase the risk of Derby being liquidated, unless of course there really is a conspiracy against them.?
  7. I would find it surprising if the EFL supports the claims as I don't know of any basis in the P&S regs for them to do so. I'm prepared to be corrected on that but I would have thought it would have to be decided in the courts.
  8. That doesn't surprise me. LJ talked about the pathway but Kelly aside there really wasn't one. Nevertheless Cam was shipped out last season, though whether that was Holden's decision or Ashton's who knows?
  9. Thanks. I like that Kalas doesn't talk in cliches but gives an articulate opinion about tactics and performance.
  10. Brian Tinnion reckoned Pring was ready for the first team squad last season. Naturally he was ignored.
  11. No, the fact that they lost narrowly to a Championship side* proves they are coming for us. *though not for much longer
  12. Interesting reference to playing more bravely from the back, which he seems to prefer, as do we all. As opposed to hoofing everything towards Martin as we did until recently, which nobody enjoys.
  13. The point is not whether we have gone backwards compared to some arbitrary point in the past but whether we are currently improving compared to our previous form since Nigel inherited a shambles. Recent performances suggest we are.
  14. It's Profit & Sustainability rather than FFP, which removes any pretence that it is about fair play. Fair play is certainly not what the Prem wants and they dictate terms to the EFL.
  15. What happened to the "imminent" announcement of a preferred bidder I wonder?
  16. Certainly for myself and the lads who went in, working with a new performance department brought in by Mark Ashton and not by me, the challenges we had within that daily over training and fitness etc. Sounds familiar.
  17. Lose Messi, sign James Hill. Swings and roundabouts.?
  18. So you expect us to be able to sign players who are good at everything? Perhaps when we finally catch up with Man City.

  20. Was thinking the same. Though he signed Atkinson but today prefers Towler, which doesn't help his case.
  21. The more it happens the more the players expect it to happen so the more it happens ....
  22. Will be interesting to hear Nigel's verdict on King's stupidity. No soft pedalling because of who he is I trust.
