  1. Predictably the BBC headline on the fixtures being announced is: Rooney's Derby host Oxford United in League One opener. Though there should be a * , perhaps anybody who might take over the club should just rename it and have done with it.
  2. Quite, saying he has £50m in a bank account means nothing more than, erm, he has £50m in a bank account.
  3. Yes, though it's been reported that he won't sign a contract because he thinks he should be getting more games. If he leaves it will surely be to a Prem club who will give him games.
  4. Exactly, no point playing Alex behind a front two who are playing as individuals because they want the glory. If I was the coach I'd be giving them a bollocking.
  5. You seem to have misunderstood me, my point was about his inability to fit into any system at any club he has been at so far. So we are actually agreeing.
  6. Yes, we offered him one year I believe.
  7. John Percy in the Telegraph is now saying that Mike Ashley has ramped up his bid to buy Derby after depositing £50m to buy the club and the Stadium.
  8. I won't believe it until @Robboredconfirms it.?
  9. It's a 5-a-side game though.
  10. https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-city/bristol-city-transfer-target-keen-for-move-abroad-after-rejecting-offer-from-club-3739876
  11. Because Barnsley haven't told us maybe. Outrageous, they must be sanctioned. ©Luton Town
  12. I wonder if the fact that Rangers were liquidated by HMRC means there is no direct comparison with Derby as it stands though. Yet.
  13. I only have a look at their forum occasionally as the entitlement, ignorance of the rules, special pleading and conspiracy theories get a bit wearing.?
  14. Yes, he hasn't fitted into a system at any club yet. Raw talent but struggles to meet the tactical demands of the game imo.
  15. But they're all desperate to stay. Must be true, Wayne Rooney's Derby County manager Wayne Rooney said so. Watch their fans turn on their heroes now.
  16. If that was what I meant that is what I would have said so the answer is no. I was however agreeing with @Davefevs. Nobody disputes that he was a bad signing but the narrative in some quarters is that he is either lazy or has a bad attitude or both. I didn't see evidence of either.
  17. Doesn't fit the narrative Dave. If anything he had a tendency to be a bit reckless in the tackle but he certainly didn't lack commitment as you say.
  18. Lewes have a reputation as a well run and progressive club but yes it is a totally random thing to do. It's harmless nonsense of course but as usual when football clubs try to be funny if just falls flat. Are we sure it isn't photoshopped though?
  19. A mate of mine is a referee at a decent non-league level. Kevin Friend did one of his annual assessments, which I saw a copy of. It was 30 odd pages long and incredibly detailed. It was quite some insight into the hidden work pro referees do and just how much goes into being a ref even at a lower level. Oh, and it was a glowing report on my mate's performance.?
  20. Far too modern. He's the Honourable Member for the 18th Century so she would be using a quill.
  21. I assume questions are agreed in advance so he won't be asked anything he vetoes.
  22. It seems Appleby's bid is in its "final strokes". So a takeover may be <ahem> coming soon.? https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-andy-appleby-takeover-7234131
  23. So it turns out Luton were lying when they claimed they knew nothing about Kal's move. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/nathan-jones-kal-naismith-bristol-7231675 In the spirit of Luton fans at the time I demand an apology and a sanction of some kind from the EFL.?
  24. Yes, though he would call himself a journalist I think. Used to work for Sky Italia, now more of a freelancer. Along with David Ornstein probably the most itk on transfers thanks to the serious contacts they have.
  25. And yet multiple managers haven't found a system that works for him, which seems significant. Maybe Robins will. I hope so for Kasey's sake. Of course you don't want any player doing unnecessary running but you do want them running intelligently and playing their part in both the attacking and the defensive structure. The latter is less about chasing back (though you still need to put in the work I don't see him as lazy) more about intelligent positioning, judging when to press and when not and so on. The days of indulging a player on the grounds of talent alone seem to be long gone.
