The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)
The Bard replied to Loderingo's topic in Football Chat
For the maths you tally up all the games which is 380 in the EPL and 552 in the Championship. 75% of 380 is 285 which means the EPL is 3 over the target. For the Championshipthe figure is way over 75% as you say. -

Absolutely. If the rumours about August/September are true, the logical thing would be to play this season out up to say end of OCtober / November. Then have a longer international break where the Euro qualifiers are played,. Before starting the new season in late November. -

The fairest way to deal with this would be to base the final table on the first half of the season where each club has played each other once. That is a league rather than a half-arsed 70% finished league It won't happen though.. -

It's extremely contagious which suggests it won't go away until someone finds a vaccine for it. -

Its called the planning process. If the people AG Ltd have employed know their stuff it shouldn't be a problem. -

It will make sod all difference. It's a one track railway and the trains have limited capacity for humans (as opposed to freight). All the stations on the line would have to be quite long for a decent sized train to stop there. Parson Street is really not that far away - Worst Great Western should sort out more regular trains there and actually publicise them... -
It's extremely unlikely a club will go bust whilst still receiving parachute payments. They will always have some attraction to a potential buyer. The problem is when they run out and clubs haven't cut their cloth accordingly. If what you say is true, they could be in problems down the line. Whoever chose to hand out new contracts is a complete fool.

Girls league is on Sundays. My daughter plays for the same team as Judda's so they'll be able to watch. Saturdays make much more sense than Sundays...

I heard exactly the same from a reliable source too. He's not joining till 6th January apparently
-
Does he? That's mint. It would be good for them to spend a few weeks with a bit of a national spotlight because their owner is a delusional nutjob..

You were probably singlehandedly responsible for the odds shortening. Bookies are very wary of allowing large bets on these markets for obvious reasons.

Hope not. He'd keep them up

Really hope they appoint that clown Hollowhead. Would love to hear the interview after he relegates them.

Hope they pick Hollowhead to replace him.

Bolton Wanderers v Bristol City Match Day 2
The Bard replied to havanatopia's topic in 2018/19 Season
One thing that listening to the game annoyed the hell out of me was our final substitution. All for Eisa coming on as he's a goal threat. Problem I have is with the manager taking off our main set piece taker. In the 3 minutes without Eliasson, we made a mess of 2 excellent set piece opportunities through poor delivery. Sorry but it's flipping obvious that you leave your set piece taker on the pitch if you're going for a win... -

Remember posting about the electrification a couple of years ago saying it was made up to give the contractors the profit they wanted. £1 million extra per metre of height was quoted. People thought it was a good idea. It's amazing how people simply can't see through this.. -

That's not the point. It's the effect on the midfield. -

If we are to harbour any hopes of the top 2, we simply must get something tonight. 8 points behind with 18 games left and the likes of Derby, Villa and Cardiff all flexing their muscles could prove too much of a challenge. I hope he goes with our strongest side and that means our 2 new signings are on the bench. We need to be solid with a team that knows what it's doing together. That means Maggers back in to the team for definite. Bring Kent on later if we need to with the Loan deal etc.. -

I hope 3 5 2 was the plan all along as opposed to being a reaction to Wright's suspension. -

Insanity. He's hardly taken over a successful operation and messed it up has he? They are genuine League 1 contenders. On the Radio some idiot (Phil Neville?) was suggesting the Shrewsbury manager. Now, he's done well but is hardly better qualified than Grayson to do this job. Can't see who they could employ - they'd picked a proven manager at this level and have got rid of him. -

I can assure you that was not the case. Our game management was not at all helped by having a kid come on whose confidence has gone and moving Bobby into midfield when he was clearly knackered. Pack was steady tonight and subbing him weakened us due to the domino effect of changes. -

Obvious thing to say, but next goal is everything in this game. We score it and we can get 4 or 5. They score it and it could go a bit Pete Tong -
