I don't understand this forum.

If we did the same to them, we'd all be sucking each others d1cks with excitement, claiming its the funniest thing ever, branding the culprit a legend..

They do it to us and we all start crying.

Its just banter. Who cares.

There was a post on the 606 forum this week, Rovers have sold 300 STs so far and apparently according to the guy who phoned the Colston Hall they have sold 475 tickets there for the Cheeky Girls and 500 for Thomas The Tank Engine so far.

These are their real rivals these days, certainly not a club with over 12,000 ST sales....

Enjoy Hartlepool and the winners of Stockport/Rochdale at Cheltenham in front of 1200, sags.

Who gives a t0ss if you did more like.

Matthew, your as witty as banners on a motorway :pacifier:

Like I've said - hanging around motorways is not my idea of entertainment - but for others it is. Deal with it.

Many Swindon fans hate you lot - Deal with it.

Many City fans hate us lot - I can deal with it!

The rest don't recognise eachother as rivals - it's dealt with!

Like a good post above us - had it been the other way round you'd be laughing.

This is a club that fans that tried or did commit arson against a team they did not like - many moons ago - I find banners on a motorway below that on the scale, don't you?

I'll defend my team to the death as you would yours. I would have never have posted if STFC weren't mentioned.

course revenge is a dish best served cold eh...... :innocent06: It comes to those who wait. :innocent06:

City had to put up with Sag heads reminding them about the "2nd of May" when they beat City to win the division championship.

It took about 11 years but on 2nd. May 2001 the Gas lost at home to Wycombe and were relegated to the bottom tier of the league.

Revenge indeed... I laughed til it hurt.

Their "banter" is their moment, let them have it. Come August they'll be sinking down the league and it'll be our turn to enjoy the moment.

Spot on. Let's face it, if the sum total of our football club was 300 season ticket holders, a loyal fan base of around 4-5K, a currently hovering just above relegation League 1 outfit with 92 consecutive away games on the horizon and a proposed new ground that is smaller than our rivals current ground and will be half the size of their new ground and is going to cost way over all budget projections and prove to be the biggest white elephant ever built in Bristol then we would probably be looking to find comfort in the "slip-ups" of our rivals. Because, to be fair, there wouldn't be anything else to celebrate.

Mind you, I will have a little chuckle the day they have to sell the Mem back to it's rightful owners!!

Beautifuly put. However, we mustn't forget the seven consecutive years that they have spent behind their nearest 'rivals'. The fact that they have only ever finished above us on eight occassions in 111 years and the fact that they have only had a higher average attendance that us on five occassions in 111.

Small Club Syndrome has clearly gotten the better of them, hence their over reaction to us playing the like of Blues, Wolves, QPR, Saints, Cov City, Reading whilst they entertain Hartlepool in someones elses ground...........again.

Richard dear fellow, I can deal with banners on a bl00dy motorway, they are just water off a ducks back.

I can deal with 99% of anything anyone can throw at me. What I find rather annoying more than anything is Gash Heads coming on here just attempting to stir it, which is to be accepted I know but not to the lengths some on here go to.

As for recognising rivals, I don't really recognise Swindon as a great rival to be honest Rich, a local Derby maybe when it does happen but not a team I really even think of and thats being nasty its just a fact. I would expect the same the other way around, thats why the Swindon fans making banners is rather amusing...?!

I believe there may have been an arson attempt or 2 along the way, but that has nowt to do with 99.9% of City fans and most were disgusted that it was our 'so called' fans that attempted it.

I like to win and I like to win fair as most of us do, banter is expected and welcomed, but then so is respect.

Yeah I have to honest and say I never give it the large one unless we reach the goal, so tomorrow is cancelled back at work and I'll wait for another day to give it the large one !

I can always fall back with banter about Cheltenham, small crowds, crap teams, just avoiding relegation, etc etc etc..... :icecream: bring it on.

That was the single best £3 I've ever spent in my life. Went in the away end with the Wycombe fans, a few Cambridge and Swindon all willing to see the same purpose - them go down. Me and my mate even got pictured in the EP the following day with a caption of 'City fans in the away end'. Sad thing was, they battered Wycombe that night and still went lost the game and went down. Maaaaaagic! :winner_third_h4h:

I'm starting to enjoy this thread now. Less support in Bristol then the Cheeky Girls and only 8 time they've ever finished above us!

True is I think the gas lack ambition, always have and always will.

The stats are c**k on my friend. Think about it, when do you ever hear a gashead brag about them getting better attendances than us, finishing higher than us or generally bragging about their superior league status.

They do however like to think that with their super duper new Student Accomodation Centre with Football Club Annexe on the horizon (when they stop making a complete shambles of the whole thing) that they will somehow be a bigger and better club than us! Darlington anyone?!!

Be honest. The cheeky girls aren't really very good. But they've still sold more tickets than you!! Makes i laugh!!

Ha ha, good reply young un, your getting better and not a spelling mistake in sight, see what i mean about coming on here and being educated, but i got a feeling your confusing cider with synex spray, let me explain again for you, proper cider is drank by many people with a large slice of lemon, either in the glass or as in my case in my mouth while sipping a cool pint of the apples while basking in the glory of a wonderful season in the CHAMPIONSHIP, ok you still with me up till now, YOU ARE, good, synex is what you shove up your nose after a rotten season in DIVVY 1 after being hammered in the FA cup and the only thing left is a dogfight to avoid relegation back to the true home of the blue few, still with me, great, you see young pepsi, synex is very good as a TEMPORARY cure for a head full of snot and s hite, running eyes and a general feeling of nausea, are you keeping up with me, you are, great, just so you don't get confused in the future young man, Synex comes in a little blue and white plastic spray bottle, get your order in now, i foresee another season of doom and gloom for the few (er) ;)

alright chaps

Funny how you say you don't care about us - yet in this thread we even have people admitting to going to actually watch the game where we got relegated so as to cheer on the opposition! don't care eh?!

Then we have a thread dedicated to our new kit (mind you it is cack, least they got the basic blue and white quarters though )

Can't ever work you lot out - you say we are off your radar then we get all the above!

Face it lads - ours is the first result you look for every week. You can try and claim otherwise but it doesn't wash.

Could well be playing you in a season or two - not sure what league though.

Hope work aint too bad for you this week - like I said before I wont be having a go at the real City fans at my place out of respect but a few of the part timers will be getting it back for the last week or so - with interest.

I don't start threads about you, I don't care what kit you wear and I don't look for your score each week. When I hear it though I usually have a chuckle though.

Could well be playin you in a season or two - you know your footy mate don't you - what do u base that on then ?? The fact you have just staved off relegation to the 4th division or the fact we missed out on promotion to the prem....please elaborate - should be interesting to hear what crap you spout explaining that one. We all know you are here on the wind up - so please don't expect anyone to take anything you say seriously.

I wont be bad at all in work - 99.9% of the Gash heads have respect for what City have achieved this year and have stated it to me on many occasions, you could do with taking a leaf from their book.

I suspect you may have a bit of a play off hangover next season thats all - as no doubt many of you wil be fearing. It does happen as you well know. The Championship will be tough next year hence my belief that you may have missed out on the best chance you will likely to have for many a year. Most City fans agree I know.

Also I expect us to build on our consolidation and be pushing on, especially seeing we will finally have a proper pitch.

Chances of playing you in the next couple of years are pretty good I would say

I'll settle for a playoff hangover just like West Brom's. There's no reason whatsoever we won't continue to improve under GJ with SteveL's backing and the last time GJ made the team stay after a game and watch a promoted side celebrate was at Southend and the following season it was us. We'll see players that improve the already competitive first XI come in over the summer thanks to that backing and the ~£2m we made from the playoffs, and we'll see real plans for the new stadium published, as well as the completion of our new training facilities.

I think the chances are exceptionally good that you lot will be relegated next season as you will have no home advantage due to your 3,000 crowds and inability to attract any decent players to a club that has no money, non league standard training facilities and is renting a ground. Your board has gambled the club's future on a new stadium development it is finding impossible to fund and if I had the misfortune to be a Rovers fan I'd be shitting myself that they will push on with it anyway out of ego and then run out of money half way through.

Good luck though.

You my friend need to see a Doctor. You must be either mental or dillusional.

Wishful thinking, pie in the sky, call it what you want - the long and short of it is that you are light years away from us and you well know it.

I would bet R*vers have virtually no chance of getting in the top 6 next years what with Leeds, Leicester, Carlisle, Southend just to name a few ready to take a hold on the top 6 with MK Dons and Peterboro with loads of momentum ready to keep the run going. Face it - to be honest the best you can hope for is middle table obscurity.

Nice one Nibor, wonderfully put. You've summed up the situations for the 2 clubs very very well.

Nice to reply to someone who has his feet planted firmly on the ground. Instead of cloud cuckoo land....cuckoo land...cuckoo land - get it R*vers cuckoo's.... :dancing6:

Good luck though.

I actually think with that current squad that is beyond them.

I heard they were absolutely dire for much of the last 15 games or so.

If that continues into next season then they could go back down.

Apparently my mates would constantly hear "You're fking schit Williams. Trollope take him off for fk's sake!" as they lost game after game at home.

They blamed the pitch. But correct me if I'm wrong but don't the other team play on the same pitch that day too?

Or is it not suited to the total football of guys like Igoe and Lambert??

Loads of their lot were phoning into Radio Bristol at the end of the season moaning and groaning week after week. One said he expected 'Trolls' to be gone by Christmas if things didnt improve drastically.

Igoe is a fairly good player to be honest....we looked at him a few years back - hence why the Gash have just let him go.... :clapping:

Could well be playin you in a season or two - you know your footy mate don't you - what do u base that on then ?? The fact you have just staved off relegation to the 4th division or the fact we missed out on promotion to the prem....please elaborate - should be interesting to hear what crap you spout explaining that one. We all know you are here on the wind up -

Not on the wind up mate thats obvious aint it.

That aint what Oldham, Lu'on and Swampsea fans of my acquaitance say. most negative football they've seen travelling away ever.

Oh and Cheltenham Rovers pitch will soon be as crap as your dung heap, being played on at least three times a week. If your lovely fans don't piss off the locals too much first.

I would much rather be in City's position than the sags.

Dangling banners from motorway bridges, graffiti in City pubs...my what a hard bunch the gas are! Must have balls the size of melons.

Think I'll pop down the Bulldog and write 'Rovers are sh1t' on a beer mat just to prove how hard I am.

I'm genuinely impressed at your remarkable stoic optimism that flies in the face of any logical reason. I can't see any way that we will play you again in the league in the next 10 years. That's how different the trajectories of our clubs are right now.

I've said somewhere before in response to a gashead that there is nothing I would swap with your club. Go on, try me if you can wrack your brains.

No mate,we don't enter the paint pot trophy anymore, its for the little teams. Spose you could ask for the Gloucester cup to be put on again though :winner_third_h4h: .

Will you get more than 3,000 at Cheltenham ?

Fwiw i thought you were unlucky saturday but must admit the banners did raise a small smile but it was just a bit of banter at the end of the day.

If it makes you feel any better i think the gas will be relegated next year,

No Money

Half empty stadium no support

probably sell lambert

Most Swindon fans rightly see them more as rivals than City now but you know what some fans are like they will always gloat at others misfortune.

Anyway good luck next year.

The main benefits of living in south west London was -

1. Quick journey back from Wembley

2. You don't get to put up with those division 3 fkwits and their motorway banners.

I instead went into the All bar one in Wimbledon and got thoroughly hammered in my City shirt with my brother in law and a few non-Bristol mates who joined later.

Even met a bloke from Humberside who went to the game and admitted we were the better team on the day (and that Hull was a shthole!)

Thought you would have gone straight on The Rovers forum after the match Hicksy, as that is where you seem to spend most of your time!
