Within the next 48 hours Nathan Dyer will sign from Southampton.

Official.

Couldnt say the source, it would expose my contact within the club.

Just wait and see..... I told you first!

Would be a good signing, he was their only decent player when they played at the gate.

I've heard from a few people he's on his way to pompy, hope i'm wrong though

Wasn't it you that made a topic saying that GJ lacks ambition because he isn't signing anyone decent and City are letting us down?

Well this topic [if true] IMO contradicts your other statement :noexpression:

Hope it's true :fingerscrossed:

i would like this to be true (even though i don't think it is)

so people who say its too much scandal, do u think joey barton wont get a prem club? or how about adrian mutu after he left chelsea?

point is he is a good player who, even though he has been an idiot and got in trouble, will enhance somebodies squad - why cant it be ours

GJ would never go after somebody like Barton no matter how much talent he has as a footballer

We already have three right wingers on the payroll and another couple who can do a job there, why would we want another particularly one with so much baggage?

Obviously completely made up.

Yes because he has become a free agent today someone thinks he will be coming here, looking at the saints site it sounds like he could be on his way to the Prem, possibly Portsmouth.

And.....I've got my cheque book out and signed the following all conquering XI for BCFC.......Actually, I'm a tad worried by potential personality clashes within this all star side that I've bought but here it goes and we're now capable of winning the Premier League title with this lot :winner_third_h4h: ......

Right back Mussolini, Right wing Hitler....

Left back Mao, Left wing Stalin - Stalin's my favourite :worship2: .....

My Dear Goblin,

I think you will find that Vlad the Impaler (Director of Football, known affectionately by the lads as "Ball Crusher") has subbed Kublai for Genghis in midfield or switched photos. Maybe there's a transfer scam going on?

Napoleon as a defensive midfielder? I see him as more of a winger.

Ummm you may be right, Kublai Khan was Genghis Khan's Chinese Grandson. Oh well, I may have misread the signature on the transfer forms and paid well over the odds as it was Genghis Khan and not Kublai Khan I wanted to sign. :surrender:

Just out of interest, have the Gas signed anybody yet? Their best scout retired from her job as a Tea Lady.

That's football, it's the sort of thing that can go wrong, signing foreign players. As I heard it Kublai is on the "cheery but violent" side whereas Genghis is just "violent". Does this upset your plans for more bite in mid-field. Could always sort out Tommy Doc if you like for you?

Goblin, what are your views on these teams (click the link)? I think the introduction of Caligula and Idi Amin is a masterstroke by the selectors.

I did want a change of Goblin personnel up front: I wanted to drop General Montgomery for His Excellency Oliver Cromwell to lead our attack. Afterall, Oliver did liberate Bristol from Royalist tyranny by booting out the Royalists from Bristol in September 1645. It really has got to be Olde Ironsides to lead the attack - he's got a sabre to cut through any defence and he's got iron boots to blast past any goalie......

Oliver_Cromwell_-_Statue_-_Palace_of_Westminster_-_London_-_240404.jpg

....unfortunately the Police had other ideas and immediately arrested dear olde Oliver as soon as I was about to sign him for our BCFC all conquering XI :ranting: .....

Giap and Ho Chi in defence?.. avin a larf. those emaciated Viet Cong couldn't hold up a pair of chop sticks let alone a barn storming attack from one of the bigger championship teams. avin a larf intya?

I'd sooner have the Castro brothers in there. And before anyone says 'argh well Fidel is now buggered' we have a reserva in the other little known bro who is fit as a fiddle. :mafia:

I'm actually off to Cuba later this month. :winner_third_h4h: Maybe I'll be able to sign the Castro brothers as cover for General Giap and Ho Chi Min. Ho Chi Min and General Giap - surely an excellent first choice of central defenders especially as they did successfully defend Vietnam against the French, the Americans and then the Chinese attack.

Fidel Castro and former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. Castro successfully defended Cuba from the USA and Khrushchev - as a political officer - helped defend the former USSR from German imperialism during WWII. An excellent reserve choice for our central defence?...

Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, more commonly known by his nickname 'Caligula'. An excellent choice of despot to lead our attack with Oliver Cromwell now ruled out after having been arrested by our Royalist Police.

Vercingetorix surrenders to Caesar - by Lionel Roye - here we see the leader of the olde French surrendering to Caesar, Caesar being attired in his very own designer label BCFC home kit tunic........

Siege-alesia-vercingetorix-jules-cesar.jpg

Idi Amin suspect temperament especially if he starts working over our opponents with those fists and he did used to use them on hapless opponents. :noexpression: Just how many medals did he award himself?.........

Sums it up really.......won't be joining City

Napoleon's too bl00dy short for midfield. What about Attila The Hun? I'm sure we could get him on a year long loan.

It's often the short people that are powerful as they often more than compensate for their lack of height by developing other attributes. In Napoleon's case, I'm sure he had a 'third leg' judging by the way he always had to have his hand in his jacket - a footballer with 3 legs would surely be a bonus for any football side.

As for Attila The Hun, he could make a great squad player. Apparently, the women of Attila's time were fascinated by him and often fantasised about him, thus Attila became something of a 5th century "sex symbol." A despot to keep our female supporters happy?.....

I think Flash Gordon will have Idi Amin in his pocket in the midfield battle. After all, he did save the Earth in 24 hours which tells me he should have the stamina for a 90 minute game of footy, and he also managed to conquer Ming the Merciless who is a far better player than Amin ever was.

Discussion over, courtesy of Mr. Godwin.

Interesting, but it's an adage formulated by Mike Godwin in 1990 to sweep the last century's main historical events in Germany and Europe under the carpet of political correctness. What other despot other than Adolf Hitler would be better suited to the Right Wing?
