Guest WillsbridgeRed
To be honest they deserve it - Their whole attitude is appalling "Teams that come here feel we're their cup final" Well alot of teams have won the cup this season then. They've made the same mistake Rovers made when they went down - Big club mentality that has a devine right to win. It doesn't work that way in reality (Shame some of our players realised that)
Guest Red_Rat
yeh but if you look at their fan-base and squad members they're surely going to start winning at some point, don't judge a book by its cover mate,Wednesday will probaly always be a force to be reconed with, but their the kinda side we'd lose to,so don't take em lightly.Get your act together Tristan
Guest WillsbridgeRed
"Wednesday will probaly always be a force to be reconed with" Not true - Look at Blackpool and Preston, used to be massive clubs.
cheshire_red
"Wednesday will probaly always be a force to be reconed with" Not true - Look at Blackpool and Preston, used to be massive clubs. But without the Fanbase that Wednesday enjoy, both clubs are in relatively small towns (although Preston has recently been awarded City status) populations are about 150k and 120k respectively with very little catchment area around and stiff competition from other nearby clubs like Blackburn, Burnley, Wigan and Bolton and then obviously the big four NW clubs. Wednesday are still pulling in considerably more than United and their ticket prices are higher as well!! They are over £30m in debt though and therefore there is no money for signings and Turner has stated that players will need to leave before he can bring even loans in to balance the wage bill unless the Chairman dips his hand in his pocket, something Wendies and not expecting. DolmanDudess
Agree with Willsbridge on this one. Sheffield Wednesday have an awesome fan base but they dont have any 'devine right' to anything. They are in division two because they wernt good enough to beat the majority of teams in division one hence relegation. I for one wont be travelling to Hillsborough thinking they are any bigger than any other game e.g. Colchester. They are a big club yes, who are in division two for a reason and I'm glad it's all blown up in their face because at the moment i cant see them 'walking this division'! Guest WillsbridgeRed
I think we're seeing the "new guard" coming through now, Wigan, Reading, Cardiff. Clubs like Wednesday and Leeds are looking like they've had their day for now. Even clubs like Everton, Spurs and Aston Villa look like Premiership make wieghts
