Banned From Forum

I wrote something vaguely (ok, probably not vaguely) offensive about Scott Davidson back in about 1998 on a previous version of this board. Can't remember what it was exactly, but it was probably uncalled for. But hey, I was young. He emailed me personally asking if I wanted to meet up to "discuss" what I'd said. I wasn't sure if he was asking me outside for a fight, or if he actually wanted to discuss it. Given he was a multimillionaire businessman, I'm guessing the latter, but you couldn't really tell from the email. Unfortunately my internet/email connection was so poor at the time, I wasn't able to get back to him for a few days, so the conversation died out.

Good evening

It has become apparent that a prominent individual and supporter of atmosphere in the EE has been banned from the forum.

Is there any process of them finding out the reason for the banning order? I appreciate that by making the reason public might enflame further debate, however may I suggest an explanation is given to those banned, so as they are aware of the rules before reengaging with the forum.

Should I subsequently be banned from the forums for this - thank you for reading

COYR

So back on topic, are you ever going to reveal this - you've been on-line since you posted the original topic.

Come on. Enlighten us all...

I remember being banned from the very first forum as a teenager.

Same here. :D

I remember first posting around 98/99. I was only 14 or 15, but looking back I used to post some utter shite, the sort that I'd probably have a go at a 14/15 year old kid for if they posted it on here these days. Ah well we were all young once. :innocent06: That first forum was great as you didn't have to register to post and could use whatever name you wanted.

Been on here a fair time myself but no where near as many posts nowadays simply to the fact that the younger generation have taking over, ends up in slagging matches and many aint got a clue about the football club in general.

This might cause a row, but by far and away the best poster EVER on here was BRISTOL BOY (Iay Gay)

An absolute wealth of knowledge, funny as **** at times and could cause a row with anyone. At the same time knows a hell of a lot of what this football club is all about and still talks a good show when he always goes live on radio Bristol after a match.

He along with REDTOP is hugely missed. This forum will never be the same without posters like those two!!!!

Agree with that Arn, although I do miss Malone and his 6-fingered goat shagging Gas mateclapping.gif

PS. Crazy font choice though

Get a room

I didn't know you had gone into the publicity business mucker. How much did he pay you to post that?

Nibor is one of only a few worth reading their pov.

Used to come on here a lot but only do so now during off season when bored. I also attended meets back in late nineties and got banned several times by Adam ;-)

Nope, not even sure they posted this on the right forum??

It more fun this way  had it not been for this thread I would not of known Neo for instance was still alive and well and WBR is still posting on here (although I'm, 70% sure i know who he is )

Out of interest how long is somone banned for? I can only think of a couple of posters who got banned and thats the DR and Malone. Will there ever be an amnesty? And Ron too, how could we forget Ron.

I'm thinking more banned from another forum than otib rather than posted in a wrong section on here.

How long are posters banned for? depends on their crime..

Malone? no comment, not for me to say.....

why couldnt otib have the odd project now?

We could but I guess because the board has grown so big since those days the old close knit community feel is lost (no fault of anyone, it happens when boards grow)

Summer kick abouts with SL used to be a right laugh.

Maybe we should try it again sometime.

I agree, kickabout in Ashton Park with SL at centre-back was a right laugh, I think a photo of it turned up the other week

did anyone else play in the net centre fan game? i remember twentyman reffing it. can't remember the year but it was up at abbots leigh. i think pre net centre there was a thing called bristol city lists.

I didn't play in it but it was the year before the first fans derby, setting the presidence from memory - think it finished 6-6

The City List (www.citylist.org.uk) is still going to this day

I love this, so the OP hasn't been online for nearly 9 days now.

Why make accusations with no explanation and then hide.

I played in that game and the 2005 fans derby. I was crap in the real game but I seem to recall a re-match held for a guy on our team who got injured (can't remember who, sorry) and I scored a screamer in a 4-2 win.

Incidentally, I've been playing in an annual tournament for internet supporters up in Leeds the past few years. I've been playing for Brentford Veterans (don't ask!) but if anyone was interested in sending up a City team it's pretty good fun. Probably too late to enter this year now but there's always next year: http://www.worldnet.org.uk/

It annoys me as much as the weather forecast for Glastonbury :laughcont:

All the classic Glasto's down the years have been the ones when it chucked down !

Will never forget shivering in a tent with thunder and lightning crashing around, looking out of the tent to see a river flowing down the hill, then seeing peoples tents floating around the bottom of the field !

It IS sunny here in Glastonbury at the moment...... but the festival doesn't start until friday...... I should take a jacket! :laughcont:

Two worst days for us are... tomorrow (weds when they arrive in droves) Monday next week (when EVERYBODY decides to leave.... or at least WANT to)

Residents of AV have nothing to worry about, we have 140,000 peeps all moving at the same time! :disapointed2se:

Yep that was me, Ball sat up a little bit and I had seen the gas keeper roaming off his line! To be fair I was as surprised as anyone to see it hit the target!! Was a great evening and Twentypence was a top man!

oh the memories,

Back then you could go off on a tangent without the forum police (remember them?) telling you to get back on topic.

too many people got the power to move posts around and people got pissed off.

jokes had to go in the joke section, mention England or the Gas and you were moved to Non city in the time it takes to open a can of natch.

It was spontanious and funny, yes there was cliches, even more than there is now but most of the time it was done in good humour.

RichieB - to me to you.

Have had the pleasure of meeting some real characters and gents thanks to this forum,

All of the Incider boys are top drawer, Matty H - legend, DaveL, Madger, EDR, Percy Parrot, GrahamB, teepee and of course the wonderful and charming Badger.

Apoligies for anyone i have missed, top people the lot of you.
