He's in Bristol

The last rumour from Sky was that he told a Hungarian newspaper he was back to England and would sign next week..

http://www1.skysports.com/news/12040/7901933/

The report was dated 14th July.. So even his own words didn't ring true..

Was told today that Rangers were interested.. But at the moment they are linked with more players than we are..

Personally I don't think Del really is that keen..?

I have no doubt that both of them will sign for Portsmouth on £20,000 per week, now that they're not going bust and can sign players again :laughcont: :laughcont: :laughcont::me?: :me?: :me?:

It would be nice if the club showed some respect for us fans and actually announced that we had tabled a firm offer for him...severe lack of information coming from management.

At least we could rid ourselves of all this inane speculation

Keeping business confidential is the only professional thing to do and releasing news would neither show any respect for fans nor rid us of speculation. There's no lack of information, just the usual unrealistic expectations.

Of course those that get off with bashing the club at every opportunity won't like that.

See below for prime example....

At least we could rid ourselves of all this inane speculation

If in doubt, make something up to moan about.

So because we're all bored and wildly speculating about it on the Internet, the club is showing a lack of respect by making their business public?

I must admit that I'm struggling to keepup with our transfer activity and am even more confused by this thread.

So, has GJ blown out Metab after he went back for one last game?

Has Mifsud also been given the cold shoulder for being to big for his boots?

If, so then we look like going into a new season still needing a striker, so is our only option to go back with our tail between ourt legs and pay over the odds for the lad from Crewe - Micky someone I think!?

Either way, looks like Robbored will have plenty of ammunition to keep up the attacks on our conference manager in the new season.

There you go - I'm not as confused as I thought.

Even if he signed at 7am this morning, we wouldn't announce anything until Monday . . . .

Hopefully Del will shed a bit more light on things tonight after the Bournemouth match. He keeps saying he wants two in before Gillingham, so I won't panic until 7pm on Wednesday!!!

yep..the club is my club... Im the one who pays the entrance money..if it werent for me and 20 thousand others the club wouldnt exist...

Should at least deny or confirm to people like me who have contributed so much over the years if offers and approaches have been made..

Just shows that we dont really matter...

Try enticing players to join a club with no fans and see how it goes.....

Daggers vs West Ham Development Squad now. Includes Baldock & Piquionne apparently so it should be a decent standard.

Cant see him being close to signing for anyone.

Isnt that a great nickname for a club though...."Daggers"....

Daggers versus Robins...

Daggers versus Tractor Boys

Daggers versus Blue Birds

Daggers versus Chair boys.

Just gives you a big physcological boost beore you even kick off saying it to yourself... Must be one of the better nicknames..

I think if Baldock scores a couple today he wont be going anywhere..if BS does then sell him the Wham fans will be furious and BS will be on the rocky road to becoming Whams next ex manager. Those West ham fans dont take any shit from anyone.

I hope that this is a joke.

Why on earth should the club go public? It would just open them up to be quite easily gazumped, not to mention if the transfer doesn't come off the club has alerted others to how much money they are willing to part with making any subsequent bargaining position extremely difficult.

Do you really think that when a players agent gets an offer for someone under his wing he doesnt immediately tout that player around other clubs...to see who will pay the most...Its a horse deal thats all it is... The press soon get hold of the story...whilst we are just fed shit form the mouths of the management or worst still nothing at all.

Even if we were gazumped on a mediocre signing( which realistically is all we could afford) would it matter. If the proposed signing didnt come to fruition because he decided to join another club for more money then would we really want a mercenary anyway ?

Well seeing as Del has been routinely denying rumours that aren't true, his silence on Baldock & Buszacky tells it's own story in my opinion. As for the club owing you regular transfer updates because you buy a ticket every week.... clubs that conduct their transfer business in public are usually vulgar, blow-hard wannabes who are trying to appear like big fish in the transfer pond to sell season tickets but don't actually have any cash to spend. We've always (certainly since SL took over) tried to conduct transfer business in private and I would suggest that if you feel aggrieved your entrance fee hasn't given you a weekly press release on the details of our transfer endeavours, you stop buying a ticket

Yawn.... But not actually offering a counter argument? Shall I take that as you grudgingly accepting my argument in the most patronising way you can think of?

It's got nothing to do with honesty, it's about a club going about it's business in a sensible manner. Go back 20 odd years and the first you heard of a player signing was when his picture was in the newspaper- nobody used the Internet, the bloke who invented twitter was probably still in pampers and if you'd asked Joe Jordan if he could be a 'show a bit more honesty' in his transfer dealings he'd probably have told you to **** off and nutted you!

Like the press did with Anderson?

Signing for a club on more money doesn't make you a mercenary! - if you have similar prospects it is common bloody sense.

I doubt we will sign either of these two players, as we have seen all the players bar Heaton who was a trialiast our signings have come from nowhere and no one knew.

Although I wouldn't be suprised if Del actually feeds places like EP with these rumors. So that they have less attention on there actual targets.

Would love to eat my words if I'm wrong though.

According to this twitter

johno@Johno909

Right....kanote needs a work permit appeal has gone in its 50-50 hence why baldock hasn't left the club yet if no work permit SV won't move

<s>michael endicott@Deadmantf1 </s>

@Johno909 lots of rumors in Bristol that BCFC and WHU have agreed a deal for Baldock. Is this true ?

<s>johno@Johno909 </s>

@Deadmantf1 everything is agreed just waiting on the outcome of kanote work permit

OK If you wish... but and its a big but, these days we have the internet, the web, twitter, facebook, and most importantly reporters who have access to all these...a little bit of information from the club, on the clubs website, about these things wouldnt go amiss. We have a 38 page thread for example on Buz and Baldy yet not a squeek from the club as to whether we are actually interested in them at all. Visit BCFC web site Click on the news tab and see for yourselves just what utter outdated clap trap we are fed....Surely a one liner " Derek confirms Baldock approach" isnt go to push the club into a financial spiral culminating in liquidation.

Look at the article posted on the 31st July for example " Manager Clarifies Wilson Position" over two weeks on and still nobody has a clue whats going on.

If Del did confirm all of the players he was interested in to the public then this would have a negative effect. For example, imagine if he came out and said we had agreed a fee for Baldock. All other interested parties would immediately submit a bid. This would then turn into a bidding war, meaning we may be priced out of a move on a player we would have signed had we kept it all under the radar.

Im delighted with the way Del has gone about his transfer dealings, refusing to spend over the odds on average players e.g A Gerrard, and by how he is playing his cards close to his chest.

But why would they? Other than to satisfy your curiosity, what would be achieved? Everyone would know that we've submitted a bid, there'd probably be 380 pages on this thread instead of 38 and what would it have achieved? We'd have confirmation of what we can all work out from Del's silence; that he's someone we're interested in but we haven't signed him yet. But being upset with the club for not doing what they've never done before and no other clubs ever do is, in my opinion, ludicrous

Im not displeased either with the way Del has tried to bring some quality to the club..far from it.. But a little bit more disclosure would not do any of the harm you suggest...like I said before most Professional Footballers Agents when that player becomes available spends considerable time ringing around interested parties trying to broker the best deal for his player and himself... The first person they ring is usually the " freindly sports journalist" a bidding war is just what they want... Its also very rare that once a transfer fee and conditions is agreed by both parties the deal will be broken as essentially a contract is in place and will be generally upheld by the FA and or legal process.
