City V Posh Match Thread

Late reminder of what got us into this mess in the first place ... conceding two goals a game hasn't been solved today, even against ten men!

And that stupid goal counts double when you compare goal differences with Posh :(

Scoring 4 goals against 10 men papers over the cracks for me.

I spose it depends on glass half full or half empty.

too right, i'll take four goals and three points any day. nay sayers be damned.

Swedish fans:

Well here you can not take the flags in because the poles/sticks are deemed a weapon - your all standing - that's a no, no - you have to sit or get sent out the ground - no flares allowed - and those banners are obscuring the advertising hoardings so need to be taken down ................... does not take much to start leaching the spirit out of fans once Health and safety executives need to start earning their £60,000 pa jobs

Listening to the game on BBC P'boro';

The commentators admitted Tomlinson deserved his red card, but suggested several times that Heaton should also have gone for bringing down a Posh player.

Several times they admitted City having taken a lead, were content to sit back and let Posh expose themselves at the back.

4-1 and "17 minutes into the 2nd galf and some Posh fans are already leaving".

Other comments::- "Adomah is always a threat", "Baldock's a real handful today" "That's the last thing Posh need; City's leading scorer Davis coming on midway into the 2nd half".

After P'boro's 2nd went in thye said it shows Posh had not given up and that goal may even decide who stays up and who goes down in May.

They also mentioned the lack of atmosphere in the ground. "There were cheers when the goals went in, but no singing. I thought we'd have heard "Drink up thee zider". Once it went 4-2 they reckoned you coul;d hear a pin drop as it was so quiet.

Can't believe it, first home game I've missed since September and we bloody win. Great result, can someone sum up to me the key points? Hearing McManus played fantastically as did Anderson! Did Fontaine come on? How did Baldock and Stead play together? And why am I reading Foster played LM?

Side note: I've missed three home games this season (not being at uni) Cardiff, Palace and today!!!!! Maybe I'm making us lose?!?!

Thought McManus and Bates were absolutely solid today, would love to see us sign Bates on a longer deal, If we sold Nyatanga and buy a new left footed centre back and push Cunningham to Lm/lwb we would have a then solid defence. Anderson playing through the middle was the sort of player we've needed for ages, someone who adds much flair and pace and can play some brilliant balls through for the strikers.

What are the chances of signing Danns?

It would be nice to sign Danns but i don't think we would pay his wages.

4-4-2 then against their 3-5-2 ?

How wrong can I be,this time Del got his tactics right. The Posh had beaten a few teams playing 4-4-2 with their formation and Del managed to get one over Furgey because like me the team looked like it was 4-4-2 but ended up 3-4-1-2 and that 1 (Anderson) played very well and caused them problems all afternoon.

Well done to our manager but I am sure that the players would prefer a settled side and a constant formation.
