A Game Of Two Halves......

Definitely the case today. First half was as if McInnes was still in charge and the goal City conceded was laughable. I can't remember a City shot on target either. At 0-1 down at H-T the next goal could have decided City's fate. Had Ipswich scored again no way would City got back and defeat would have been a disaster.

But.........a change of tactics from O'Driscoll made a big difference and Davies's terrific goal just after the re-start was just the boost everyone at AG needed. The mood changed within the stadium, the volume went up and City looked far more threatening as Ipswich were pegged back for longer spells. That said Heaton pulled a terrific double save to keep the Tractor Boys at bay.

In the second half City looked much more organized, with Carey having a great game at the back. Malloney looked as if he'd been playing for City all season and Kelly on the right of midfield was also impressive. Baldock didn't get much service but long balls up to a 5'7'' in striker were never going to be effective.

The winning goal from Stead came at the perfect timing and City just about deserved the win but the same 'game of two halves' against Watford on Tuesday won't be enough.

Yep, the first half we played 4 4 2 and were getting over run in midfield far to often, plus the midfield were struggling to support the front 2.

At half time we went to a 4 3 3 / 4 5 1 system and it really worked! Kelly really came into the game when playing more central and we looked really good! Still felt we dropped a bit to deep at times, leaving only 1 up front at times but overall was impressed with the way it was changed around and a great result!

Heatons double save: second one excellent

first one: should have heald it made trouble for himself.

Overall not too impressed with him today, think he couldve charged the ball for their goal aswell.

But fair play, ultimately he played his part in an important win today

Agree. Heaton made an unreal 2nd save, but only had to as he palmed the ball back into danger when he should have pushed it away.

Also the open goal Lee Martin missed 1st half, would have killed us off at 0-2. Two huge moments.

I have to disagree with you that he had a poor game. Today he was shouting at the defenders, telling them what to do, where to go etc. with any throw in, corner or free kick around our box, and shouting at them to push out when the ball was cleared.

Perhaps could have done better with the first save but made up for it with the second save. Good performance in my opinion.
