How are we going to fend off the likes of Walsall, Swindon, Crawley, MkDonns, even Port Vale, all the front runners who will come in with bids for Jet now?

The trouble is, all he does is score and create goals, he needs to understand there is more to a strikers game than that.

That's right. He's got a very limited understanding of the English game. If he could become boring and untalented we could say we really developed him as a striker at City.

JET will be busting himself to get to some of those Clubs.

Maybe, just maybe he might stay with City if we could show some appreciation of what we've got.

City fans easily forget that other flair players we have had have been similiarly "irritating" when they don't score 2 goals a game. Biggest talent with a football that I've seen in decades at City.

Anyone who thinks he's not up to it is simply smoking crack. Blokes a genius.

Apparently he should be dropped for Barnett? Honestly just have to laugh at some of the clowns on here.

I think some people form their opinion by watching too many games on TV. Watching the likes of Barcelona must make some think that's how every team/player should be like.

JET still not fit to wear the shirt?

When he is on his game he is as good as anyone I have seen in a City shirt. Signs he was getting back to his best over the last few games, and great to see. Sad bit is if he gets more consistent, he will be far far to good for us!

Too right mate. What do you do with a genius? Let them alone to do their stuff.

For most of the time the rest of the team are not operating at his level - although he definitely has a rapport with Sammy - that's why he looks out of place at times.

I'm so pleased that SC has kept playing him and not listened to the unimaginative

Anyone who hits the net 20+ times in a season earns his place in the team.

It's the 'flair' players who contribute little that are passengers.

Take away JETS goals this season and we would be in a relegation place.

If this club has an ounce of ambition, we must keep our two 20-goal forwards next season. Typically, City would sell, and replace with dross.

If we can keep this pair and shore up the defence, we would be close enough next season.

Yes when they feel like it and it did sound like he had the freedom of bristol from a generous port vale team, but before you say anything i can only go by their commentary as i wasn't there tonight.

However it was good that he got his first home goals this year and more importantly we are now almost safe.

The good thing is, were are in a situation where we don't need to sell. They have a year left as do many come the summer, and there is no rush to tie players up. It has been said they will be addressed but first of all, we must remove those that aren't needed. I.e. Fontaine, Marvin Elliot, Carey, dare I say it Pearson. I'm sure lansdown can see we would be crazy to let any of the current first team go as what we have built can push on and destroy the league next season

Joking aside, i really wanted to smack the **** sat behind me who started slating JET 30 seconds after he'd scored the first, and continued to openly criticise him through out the second half. What a plank.

I'll admit im not his biggest fan and have shared my views on here about it this season, but tonight - theres a time and a place and that guy was a dick.

Maybe, just maybe, JET has the intelligence to lose himself on the pitch so he isn't marked out of the game. And maybe, just maybe the "freedom" he appears to have is him using his football brain to create space for himself.

I don't want to start a row after such a great night mate but how can anyone truly be inside JET's head and say that in a particular game he isn't interested in playing?

Quiz: when was the last City team to have TWO twenty-goal forwards in the side?

(Answers on a double cheeseburger, large fries, onion rings, salad WITH blue cheese dressing and an extra large coke.)

I am more than happy to admit that was a fantastic performance from jet. Above anything else he put a shift in tonight. Goals were a nice bonus!

This is the most frustrating thing though and why I give him so much abuse on here. Tonight we saw a very very good championship player, maybe pushing premier league.

Why cant he produce that level of performance on a more consistent basis?!

What I can't understand is that our fans berate a player who is one of the most talented I have seen in a City shirt, has scored many memorable goals and shown us some moments of pure genius this season. Then in comparison Wes Burns gets brought on for ten minutes and gets so much support it's unbelievable considering he has contributed virtually nothing to our side this season in comparison to JET. Don't get me wrong I like Wes and I think he will be a good player for us but I can't understand why he gets all the attention just because he can run with the ball at pace and put in a decent cross.

Amazing how anyone can't appreciate the talent he has. When he is on form like tonight he's worth the entrance fee alone.

No doubt some will still find fault and complain though.

Based on tonight I feel stupid giving him so much abuse cus he is so talented.

However he has not performed like that too often this season.

Where was this?

I was sat a few rows behind a complete and utter moron who slated JET all night. After his first goal he misplaced a pass only for this bloke to start calling him a 'useless ****'. Unbelievable.

The bloke was clearly a bit simple and can't grasp the fact that a player in L1 won't play well every week.

I've given JET plenty of stick, though I can plainly see he is one of the most technically gifted players to ever grace Ashton Gate. Tonight, the Stevenage game, up at Carlisle. These are all games where we saw a player who is completely unplayable. However he also has games where he does sweet FA. I think the criticism (I know it is in my case) is born out of the inability he has to play to the best of his ability most of the time. He is frustrating when he tries to do too much by himself, or slows it down, or cocks up a cross from range, or is wandering about no where near the play. Then seconds later he's scored a wonder goal. He's so Jekyll and Hyde.

This is a good comment.

Always remember Merson saying this when he managed Walsall and they had taken us apart at Ashton Gate.

Merse was really chuffed with his team because they had apparently done exactly what he wanted and got the result. He acknowledged that they couldn't do this consistently.

Because he would be would'nt be with us if he was that player? He has good games, bad games and average games just like any other player, what I take issue with is people allways getting on his case, even when he does not deserve it.

Usually after an average game or one where he sets up 3 or something and they still moan he doesn't move enough......

:grr:

I think we are all assuming its entirely up to us whether him and Sammy say.

If they get good offers from teams in the Championship, they will most likely want to be off, and at our level it will be very hard to stand in their way. Hope I am wrong, but fully expect both to actually be leaving.

So the person ( cba to scroll back and find out who it was ) who jumped on the bandwagon on Saturday, and said that hopefully jet will be dropped will admit that he was wrong! in our league ( league 1 ) he's different class,

Can't be a bandwagon Timbo, no-one agrees with it!

JET can be infuriating, but he can also be exhilarating. Players like him make the game fun.

The guy who sits near me in the Dolman didn't aim this comment at JET but in the 3 minutes of second half injury time, with City leading 5-0 and Nosworthy on the ball, yelled "For ***** sake get the ball forward" - as though we were desperate to score one more goal to earn a promotion place.

Some people are never satisfied.

As far as I could see he only moved t awice all night I,d say sell him know, but I doubt if any other club would be stupid enough t o sign a lazy barsteward whose only scored 21 goals and had 30 + assists, hopefully he'll be dropped soon, we'd be a better team without him don't ya know !

Of course you are joking but if he is as good as some of our fans think he is why did no one come in for him in January? He has ability but I can't see any championship clubs coming in this summer. I think they will be wary of his previous ineffectiveness at that level and the fact that he requires a free role.

So according to OUR manager JET actually IS a TEAM player....

This will no doubt be to the disgust of some on here who clearly think they know better....

Nice you have picked out the part you wanted! I dont think anyone has ever said he wasn't a team player.

What OUR manager also said was he doesnt run enough and can go wandering which frustrates everyone. This being the main issue people have. it would seem OUR manager agrees.

No one as far as I can remember has ever doubted jets technical ability which in this division is second to none.

So it would seem those who think they did know best, do actually know best!

I dont think you will find anyone having any issues if he performs like last night a bit more often.

No I've picked out the part that was relevant. I am huge JET fan but have acknowledged he doesn't run around as much as perhaps he should.

I have read plenty of comments on here along the lines of JET 'not caring' or being a 'team player'.

I have also read a few people claiming he has a poor touch and isn't as skilful as some would have you believe. So I have picked out what was relevant because plenty have stated that he doesn't 'put a shift in' for the TEAM. His lack of 'running' which we can all accept does not mean he is 'lazy' or not 'putting in a shift' which many continue to accuse him of.

OUR manager has said he is very much a TEAM player. Very much relevant.

Surely it does though which was why cotts said it frustrates everyone?

No point going over old ground again especially after last night. Last night he was immense. Even when he gave the ball away when taking a quick corner he busted a gut to get back which is something he doesnt do enough.

People say if he has to track back it will take away his game. Last night blew this theory out the water. Arguably his best game for us in a match where he put in his best overall shift in a city shirt.

The two can go hand in hand. It doesnt have to be one or the other as many on here suggests.

I will be delighted if he continues playing like he did last night for the rest of the season and giving people no reason to criticise.

JeT is lazy he said so his self, the manager says so as well,

Most talented players are, you have to accept that for players like JeT its up to the manager to find the correct balance to counter this,

SC has done, Johnson did with Noble who was the same (not as talented as JeT),

There are going to be games where he does nothing and will be rightly critised for up, up until very recently he has been awful but thats because of the standed he set himself not because of lack of effort,

If you want JeT in the side you have to accept his faults (which is why he isn';t a top prem league player which Wenger predicted)

Lazy *****

I am a J.E.T critic, but will happily admit his performance yesterday was irresistible.

However, and it isn't a criticism, I think the plaudits for this performance has to go to our manager.

Last night he surrounded Thomas with willing workers & runners. Baldock had help up front with Paterson. The pair chased everything, and supported one another at every opportunity. (They reminded me of Neville & Riley).

With Paterson sharing Baldocks workload, there was no need for JET to try and get forward. He was able to stroll around just outside the box, where I personally think he looks far more dangerous.

And with Elliott, Pack, Cunningham and Wagstaff alongside and behind him, he was able to drift around, looking for the ball, and, credit to him, when he fluffed his lines he actually chased back on a number of occasions.

I would go as far to say, that it was probably his best game in a City shirt I've seen.

Well done JET on last nights performance. You have set the bench mark.

Man of the Match? No. I'd have to give this to the ageless Wade Elliott.

he also did something else which earned him extra brownie points for me.

that was a hell of a whack he took when their bloke got sent off,  instead of making a pigs ear of it,he had a chat with the ref while he was down then got up and ran it off, i honestly thought he would have asked to be subbed after that tackle
