cityexile
Would love to hear in time from somebody at the gate whether the gate was as rocking as it sounded! Sounds in fairness a much better performance as well - unlucky to not get ahead early, but dug in! cityexile
Meaningless stat of the day - bar a late leveller at Orient, all the teams we have dropped points against this season won. Edited November 1, 2014 by cityexile
Mike Hunt-Hertz
Only just realised that Oldham unbeaten in 13, so all in all a great result.

cityexile
Cotts "Hard fought. Great in first 25 mins. Oldham then had better of last ten minutes, but disappointed not ahead at half time. Today about patience, concentration, and was going to take a good team to beat Oldham. Practiced this free kick loads of time - started in Botswana! Hopefully other teams mark this one now, as we have another one! Great save from Fielding. If kept game really open after goal, they would have scored. Did not make any mistakes defending set pieces, and really pleased for lads today. Big day, given other results. I said after Rochdale it was a good point. I knew that was the case. People will think I less cookoo now. Few of the other boys can get some minutes under their belt in the cup, will need to think about that now.. WhistleHappy
'ee don't half talk funny don't 'ee?so does that bleed in' hedgehog of yours by the sounds of it.. Why's he worried about going on the radio with an odd snort 'n snuffle - Cotts ain't bovvered!
Aizoon
Seriously, he clearly does think about the game, which bears no relation to what we were told to expect. Good to watch, too. Only problem is we're doing it when it's a real bugger to get a seat

Spike
Clean sheet is what I wanted today, great result and Preston being slowed down is a great bonus. A lot happier after today.
Gakoe
Gotta love Cotts interviews. He works the media well and still sounds genuine.

WhistleHappy
Its, not been mentioned but after his Oldham team put up a good show against us and lost an impressive unbeaten run today, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Lee Johnson hasn't been KNOCKED SIDEWAYS at the Gate this afternoon! ChippenhamRed
A win, a clean sheet and plenty of rivals losing. A contented Saturday night for all of us.
old_eastender
Fantastic win. Youuuuuuuuuuu Redsssssssss! My feelings exactly, must admit thought we would lose today with Oldham being on excellent form, us dropping points the last two matches and the LJ factor... so absolutely delighted to have won and kept a clean sheet. Add in the other results today going so well for us, and it's fantastic
cityexile
Random, but you do wonder as a fan about the way teams other than the big boys get covered. Eg - today, BBC reports "Leaders Chelsea move nine points clear of title rivals Manchester City as a sublime finish by Oscar helps defeat QPR.". Well, yes, but Southampton in second place 4 points behind are obviously invisible!

The BBC were there because it was Supermac's debut, but the Cheese taught them a lesson

Well, yes, but Southampton in second place 4 points behind are obviously invisible! Try going to the Sky Sports site. Sheffield UTD had a good win and Lee Johnson is hoping to slay the dragon! It is very often the case that City get only a brief mention, third or fourth match report.

Right, through my own crass stupidity (smoking at H/T and forgetting I gave my ST to a mate to get my Swinetown ticket) I missed the second half BUT ,walking past the M Shed at about 25 past 4 you could hear City singing as clear as day. Now THAT'S impressive ! Edited November 1, 2014 by slartibartfast

WhistleHappy
What happened with Lee Johnson at the end? Heard he got stressed with our team mingling with theirs Just a guess, but managers probably don't like it too much when their players go to the winning opposition and ask for autographs... ...what?, ...... what? ...... Well it is possible innit? .. (PS: if anyone knows what LJ was really vexed about - I like littered would be interested to hear too )
ciderup
What happened with Lee Johnson at the end? Heard he got stressed with our team mingling with theirs By all accounts, he gave Poleon a bit of a rollicking for chatting to one of our players leaving the pitch. Here's LJ's interview anyway. He's obviously a bit miffed but a couple of nice comments about City.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29864043
