Great performance, we do have some top quality players, I was amazed actually how well we played against a Prem side pushing for Europe, we tore them apart in the first half, just lacked that quality in the final 3rd.

omg!

Reid got MOM? omg, spivs everywhere!

Bryan was not even in the BBC top 3 to vote for, jeeez, what a farce

Guest Whooooossshhhh

The good thing is (imo) the squad won't let this affect their focus on League 1.  By rights, we should have been well beaten by the Prem side, home advantage or not.

I firmly believe that today's result is fairly low on their radar as a loss, but will be used to reaffirm to the players how well placed the hard work has put them in the race to get out of this godforsaken division. I'm feeling positive that this will just push BCFC onwards and upwards.

Errrr.......... that's all

Not bad. Lost to a handball on the line 1st half by Carroll and a handball by Carroll leading to their goal. Different game if we get that 'little bit of luck' SC was talking about in the week.

We prob had that luck at scunny last week.

Wasn't a handball, unfortunately. Bounced up and hit the front of his shoulder.

I think that both handballs would have been harsh (though having watched it a couple of times, I think perhaps Carroll knew what he was doing on the goal line), but on another day they could have been given. But it wasn't another day I suppose Edited by chipdawg

Maybe. Restricted them to a few chances, ours mainly in the air. Other than maybe the Bryan one, noting really to feet in their box, which was maybe not a surprise. Let's not forget they paid us the compliment of putting out their strongest eleven. Really good effort, not much really at all between the teams, and just unlucky on the day.

Yeah. The first one probably was, but would have been a HUGE call, and seeing as after countless slow motion replays it's still not 100% there's no way you could give it as a ref.

Second one just wasn't a handball.

Quite right though, it wasn't another day.

Thought we controlled the game for much of it especially the first half. Freeman was a menace and Smith, Williams and Little played very well. Thought Smith could have done a little better.. he does not have the pace and JET was not at his best but cannot really fault any of them for effort. Happy days really.. we could storm through the Championship next season with a few key additions. Bright prospects all round. Well done City.

JET had one of those days where he put in a shift, but was probably one of our least influential players. Would have like to see Agard come on earlier, as we were missing pace in the box. Overall, heads held high, and more than one player showed they will be very comfortable at a higher level.

We deserved more...but when your team plays with pride, passion and quality...there's no space for regrets, but only for claps.

An oustanding performance in the first half, and a good one in the second period.

Matt Smith was a real giant, but unfortunately he didn't find the net; Freeman, in the first half was classy, JET wasn't too inspired but was very useful from a tactical point of view, Korey Smith was everywhere, and the defense looked always solid.

Well done, Robins!

Sahko should not have been playing anyway, he was left out of the Africans nation cup by Senegal because W.Ham said he was out for 3-5 weeks, the W.Ham forum are saying Senegal not happy and W.Ham may be thrown out the cup

West ham bod here.

Just want to say we got lucky today.

Really impressed with your side, some tidy players.

Hope there was no agg in the home ends. If there was, then they asked for it frankly.

All the best in your promotion bid, going on today, you should stroll it. I'll be keeping an eye on it. Genuinely hope you do it.

At worst a bit of gamesmanship from WHam.

As I understand it, he was not allowed to go to the African Cup as he was injured. He did then miss a few games in fairness. Senegal have then said - well, if he is injured, why did he play today? National sides do ge first call, but I would not hold your nreath on this one.

Sakho was genuinely injured..back injury.

Missed a fair few games before the Africa cup of nations..

He missed the Everton replay and two league games during the African cup.

I'm sure the club must have checked with powers that be regarding the position if he was fit again while the competition is still on..but there again we have history for cock ups..so who knows!

Some have commented on here on whether it was WHU being a good side playing in second gear today...or are we just a poor side?

Been interesting reading on here, of opposition views...well,its a running argument at ours regarding Nolan and Noble playing in the same side. Fat Sam gets loads of grief regarding being blind where he is concerned, his favourite son so to speak.

Downing gets pushed out of his central creative role, and is not the same player.

Sakho and Valencia together is when we are at our best, today you put us under constant pressure and didn't allow us to create much. Defensively we were excellent in the main, although song was poor today. Almalfitano made a lot of difference when he came on, and of course sakho. Been an amazing find.

Winston Reid was our best player...but he won't be with us much longer.

I would have given MOM to Luke Freeman personally. Like him a lot.

I genuinely didn't know Downing was playing and even now, I'm not sure where he was playing.

The only players who stood out for me were Nolan (because of his constant niggly nasty fouls) and Carroll (because he looks like a girl).

Valencia and Song started well but seemed to disappear.

I applaud your fans though.  They took a vow of silence after leaving the M25 environs, and boy, did they honour it.

Your team did a professional job though and good luck for Round 5.

Yea we have good away support most of the time. But I'm first to hold my hands up regarding making a noise...not the best singers..never have been. Sing bubbles far to much, and never sung properly anymore.

All the best

I hope nothing comes of this Sakho nonsense; I'd rather we just went out with grace rather than sneaking through on a technicality, even if said technicality was nothing to do with us

PS nice to see some reasonable and gracious comments from WHam fans
