This isn't weight gain in the same way we would normally think of it, it's the effect of steroids which tend to give you what's known as a "moon face". Also for some reason they make you feel hungry all the time, which you can try to ignore but it's difficult! I know because I experienced exactly the same thing a few years ago myself when taking steroids for a medical condition. I could eat fish and chips followed by a curry an hour later! This confirms to me they must put steroids in beer. There is another side effect beer gives me which also proves steroids are rife in the nectar. But I won't go into that one here....
