I have already pronounced a 1-0 win to City with our Icelandic marksman netting deep into the second half .

Is the Icelandic marksman you're thinking about  Abrahamsson Major?

I've got a horrible feeling we could be in for an absolute d.i.c.k.ing tonight.

Wow I thought I was a pessamist! I never go into a game thinking that. Sometimes there's a realism after we've been soundly beaten but it always starts 0-0 and we have players that can win games

Here I am ready for the first late night game of the season (I was in another part of Estonia last Tuesday, so had to keep up with the forum on my phone) don't forget we are 2 hours in front of the UK here.  I really hope we will get something out of this game, but my head says 2 - 0 to Norwich, please let me be wrong, as I usually am with match predictions, but COYRs!

Blimey.

Worried about Little, and two up front with Tomlin. Pack in for Brownhill which feels right.

Not messing about. Hopefully he feels it is the best team rather than just trying to fit three in to two.

Thought Kodjia was in <insert minor premier league side here>.

edit - if the graphic is right, maybe it is one up front with Kodjia on the right. Could just work...

Matthews on bench, so hopefully not to far away

Not being critical but he will look foolish if we lose 3-0 ! Wouldn't put it past us to win though

Isn't it refreshing to go to teams like Norwich and say this is us, we're going to give you a game can you deal with us? Or go to Derby and say we aren't as good as them? Just an opinion.

However, I do think there's a balance between the two. Personally think we're too open, but sure as anything we'll worry them at the back

Just like the Little bashing on this thread.

And claiming Ayling was a quality defender when he really isn't.

Anyhow, COYR.

IMO Ayling is better. Just my opinion.

Right formation, but Kodj to protect Little? Hmmm. I think if GON and MP play well (though they may have to put in a big shift) we may be okay. Keeping possession may be our best way to get through this!

Completely agree mate!

Im sure norwich see little as a weak link in their prep for this match so wouldnt be surprised if that side gets targetted.

I do fear the worst and we should prepare ourselves for the likelihood of defeat... but then I look at our wins at Middlesbrough, Southampton, Leicester, Swansea and draws at West Ham and Newcastle. We have got good results at top Championship sides before, so why not tonight? COYR!

If we do happen to get beat, no f****ing meltdowns please.

That shape looks better to me than the first few games, Tomlin is definitely wasted out on the left.  It's quite ambitious for Norwich away and the right side looks weak defensively.  I'd have probably started Matthews and brought Little on against more tired players if needs be.  We could have played O'Dowda right wing, Bryan left and Golbourne left back to be more solid but I think it's a line up that will cause some problems for Norwich if we can get on the ball enough.

I can see the logic in that team selection, last thing we want is to play a defensive team and invite 90mins of pressure. Nobody expects us to get anything so why not go for it.

The way some folks are talking, you'd have thought we should be playing 9 defenders and 2 keepers.

I'm sure Norwich are decent, but we can't show them too much respect.

It's a free hit, in many ways; we're expected to get tanked, so why not come out swinging?

At least it isn't Derby away last year; we played an incredibly defensive side and got beaten up.  Here, if we get done we've clearly given it a shot.

Dont particularly like the look of that line up...

Got our top striker on the wing (cough Pitman cough Millen), not enough midfielders and too attacking full backs.

Would have preferred the likes of Reid in the team to keep tight but retain a goal threat.

Could be wrong though...

Time will tell, but Pack is playing with O'Neil so arguably more defensive than Saturday. As I said above, looks good on a subbuteo pitch. I prefer Tomlin centrally as I think he is more involved. Thought for a while that Kodjia could play the right side role so we'll see tonight.

In other news, I'm currently watching Penzance play Illogan in the SW Peninsula League. 3-4 half time. Getting my money's worth!

I thought you might have gone and watch Basso at Truro?

Agree, think we're far too open. However, should we be critical? Going there to have a go at them

Exactly! I think we are going to lose this one anyway, so I'd much rather we had a go at them.
