The Official Rotherham United v Bristol City match Day Thread

It's what happens when you take a big profit for your best striker just before the transfer window closes and not replace him. Perhaps he might have been in some of the positions that Reid has taken up and put the ball in the net (Kodjia or a replacement i mean). Possession is great but goals win games.

Yeah, I mean he bagged a hatrick for us against Villa

We did not 'take it'. More he insisted on it.

Prob for a debate after the game.

Don't worry Kodjia would have missed or been offside.

Forget the first 5 games. Theye were against new teams in this league. This was the game where I believed we would see how far we have really came?

Same old mistakes at the back....and pretty toothless up front. Not replacing Kodjia WILL come back to haunt us....as I said,  it's unfair to put all the pressure on Tammy.

Someone quoted our centre halves is the best pairing in the league. I disagreed at the time. I just hope this Elkstrand gets fit. We need a proper leader at the back

The bloke who didn't want to play for us any more you mean? And hadn't scored this season but was offside about 20 times? We had to get rid end of.

When is our useless commentary team going to delve ever so slightly below the surface and question why we have so many penalty claims waved away and a Huddersfield referee ? Somewhat puzzling to put it mildly

I said this earlier and not for the first time this season.

What about the expectations as passed on to the fans by the management and board?.

However i'm sure LJ will be honest again and say it's not good enough.

You've got to use your own eyes not get taken in by Ashton and the like. We're a mid table side and no amount of BS by the Board should make anyone think otherwise.

We did you are right, but there should have been a replacement lined up. There was a lot of stuff in the press about interest in him, let alone what the club was aware of privately.

1 game and the "should have signed a striker" crowd are out in force.

....I'm sure if we had won 4-0 it would have been the same the other way.

Fact of the matter is....we all know we have been left light up front. The very first game after the transfer window has proved it....

Fans are very fickle aren't they? Bet you thought he was shit last season too. Stayed onside for the international goal he scored this week though didn't he.

Rotherham and Huddersfield are 27 miles apart though.....:whistle2:

Hopefully won't be a melt down on here.

I think people just need to realise where we are as a club. I've posted before that our 'amazing transfer window' is probably enough to ensure we are not in a relegation dog fight, nothing more. That in turn means we are still going to drop a lot of points along the way.

Focus on 60 points.

Not at all. Didn't say he was shit. He didn't want to play for us so we made £8m profit on him....because he hit 20 last season obviously. I'm starting to think that people seriously expect us to challenge for promotion this season.......mental.

If Kodjia was happy here and wanted to stay I could understand the negativity getting rid of him, but surely anyone can see it was a brilliant move for us rather than keeping a sulking striker.

Everyone knows we are a bit light up front but it is what it is. We have signed a striker and he may well turn out to be a great signing, but surely people have to look at the bigger picture.

Then why bother pointing out that he was offside 20 times then? I think we will end up mid table personally and always did, I never mentioned where we would end at the end of the season. Anyway we scored now so hurry up and rub it in.

No, we're losing so better to find any old stick to beat the club with even when it is totally at odds with the facts.

If he's from another town nearby that also has a football league side, surely that is of no consequence whatsoever. That's like saying a Swindon ref would favour us.

What a shameful state of affairs by the FL. Firstly they throw away 150 odd years of history by adding the word English to the world's first ever football league then they allocate refs that are so blatantly biased.. whatever next.
