Championship best 22

Just as matter if interest, how many of our current squad would get in to a Championship best 22. I thought 22 as it gives our guys a chance. So they would have to be one of the two best in their position in the championship. I am struggling to find one.

When played in his correct position, Tomlin.

Abraham, even though he is only on loan.

Bailey Wright could be if he was playing along with a decent centre half to compliment him.....been really impressed with him so far, even though the goals against havent improved, but he looks a cultured centre back, hard as bails and adept at playing the ball out.

Hegler Is a class above anyone else in the team. Not sure about other players in his position in our division or if indeed he has played enough games to warrant inclusion. But he would be the only one other than Abraham that could possibly make it on form. I am not looking at on paper as it's worthless.

Hegler started well but he's been brought down to the rest of the teams level in recent games. He's made a few errors and his reading of the game is to advanced for some of our players.

Aye. Rush back goalie

I knew I should have added outfield to my statement

You might be right.

When I was at school, the worst player ALWAYS played in goal.

A lesson our goalkeeping coaching team hold dear?

:dunno:

Mark Little can rest his hamstring while getting game time. Win win.

That could work well.

Abraham slides into the right-back berth; we play Pack upfront as a lone striker, and move Djuric back to provide cover for the defence?

Play to our weaknesses and Fulhams strengths on Wednesday, and he might be gone by Thursday morning?

You must REALLY hate Lee Johnson?

:disapointed2se:

Happy Clappers are going to smash your face in.

Sounds like a plan. Or LJ could register himself as a player and get between the sticks.

No worries I'm as hard as a port vale steward!

No - the idea is play your squad out of their best positions:-

On this logic, we would play Lee in midfield.

:punish:

Keep up.

Look we have to show the FA we are taking this game seriously or we will get fined.. taking it that far would be too obvious.

You are not cunning enough... I've thought this through.

Haven't seen enough of him to judge, I'm still undecided.

From what i have seen he plays at a different level. Too good for many of our players and now seens to be trying to compensate, which is nullifying his game a little. That's how I see it anyway.

That's how I see it. Get him with better players who get into better positions and make better runs and the guy would thrive

Tomlin this season has been lost in whatever position he plays. Last season played out left he would've made the first XI

Off the top of my head:

Goalkeepers - David Stockdale, Scott Carson

Right Backs - Deandre Yedli, Luke Ayling

Left Backs - Paul Dummett, Scott Malone

Centre Backs - Christophe Schindler, Shane Duff, Lewis Dunk,  Pontus Jansson

Central Midfielders - Jonjo Shelvey, Connor Hourihane, Aaron Mooy,  Tom Cairney

Wingers - Matt Ritchie, Alex Knockaert, Tom Lawrence, Rajiv Van Le Parra

Strikers - Dwight Gayle, Scott Hogan, Tammy Abraham, Chris Wood

Sure I've missed a couple of glaring ones and also sure others will disagree!!

I've gone on performances that I've seen this season.  Not saying he is actually second best in the Championship but from what I've seen this season he has been.

Problem with these sorts of lists is that you see each team play 4-5 times per season which is a small percentage of their games!

Prob have Bruno over Ayling if you want a solid defender

^^^^^^^^

RB Ayling has been immense, absolute bargain of the season. He's in top 3

Wood, he's more than a goal scorer. In the top 4 strikers and actually doesn't get that many chances to score, just clinical.

Good efforts.  I like the Ipswich keeper who's name I can't spell (not Gerkin).

Gunter a possible at RB.

Turner from Burton as a bit of a unsung hero.

Dale Stephens, Brighton in midfield, Williams, Reading too.  Don't rate Hutchinson at Wednesday.

But can't disagree much...

Much better than I would've come up with.

Was anything but clinical last season and only scored something like a dozen when playing in a sh*t side.

Hutchinson's quality mate, was tipped to be Lampard's replacement at Chelsea but had to retire at 21 because of a really bad injury. Came back to football a couple of years later and has been unbelievable for Wednesday this season, by far and away their best player.

Gunter is a good shout. I also forgot McCleary at Reading!

Didn't realise the injury. Every time I've seen him play he's either got red carded or should've been!!  He's Wednesday's equivalent of Xhaka!!! I'd take Danny Williams over him - but all about opinions.

Besides Tammy,I think over a whole season that Hegeler could well be in the picture..

Barry Bannan is quality, would love to see him in a City shirt.

I reckon had he been here all season, Jens Hegeler would have got in the top 22.

Lee Tomlin??? Is that a joke, not even in the top 100, useless.

Tammy quite rightly our only one in the best 22 for me.

I said at the start of the season he's a lovely player, lovely left foot, but doesn't influence the game.

WRONG!!!!!!

Have been impressed every time I've seen him.
