He will be sacked tomorrow

I've lost all hope finally. Gotta go- NOW.

In hindsight maybe he should have quit after Rotherham a little platform of a win and a draw v Sheff Wed which was hard fought Some of the selection and substitutions last night...FFS.

  1. Matthews recalled out of nowhere- he';s not been up to it all season.
  2. Reid just recalled off the bench after weeks out of the side. Smacks of just trying anything and everything, hoping something comes off- run out of ideas, lost it.
  3. O'Neil for Hegeler- at 2-0 down. For all of O'Neil's undoubted attributes, bringing on a 33 year old midfielder- and I am not knocking O'Neil- when 2-0 down is a nonsense.
  4. Like for like substitutions. Pointless, waste of time and energy.

He has to go.

Some good points

Regarding the highlighted section - this is what he's been doing for months - drop player A from team to not in squad , player A not seen for a few weeks and then suddenly brought in from the cold in some vain hope it will click

Seems to like to make sure a player feels out of favour and then turns to them hoping they will save his neck

Its not been a popular view but I'd have a little bet that there are not 11 players he can pick who are fully behind him - and that says it all

Dont even begin on his 'tactics' , organisation and team selections

MA & SL should have seen that we were ticking all the relegation signs months ago

When I saw Charlton last year they screamed 'Relegation side'

When I saw Bolton last year they screamed 'Relegation side'

for some months now we scream 'Relegation side' (Save it would appear a bizarre , completely out of context, 45 mins at Derby)

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic in the hope it doesn't sink: that is Johnson's approach in a nutshell.  And we all know what happened to the Titanic.

On another note -I was surprised we rearranged the Fulham game for when we did

I understand we may have wanted to split the away game run but for me

1) It gives us 3 Games in six days

2) And more importantly for me - I'd have wanted it later , when there was more chance / hope   that we had found some form and as a winnable home game if we were anywhere near right it was a card to use later in the campaign if we could have

Unfortunately, I think Lee is cutting his teeth at a level that is too high, and that he is unable to cope because of a lack of experience.

In our promotion season we played a certain way all season and got promotion. In all possibility, there was not enough playing and managerial talent at that level to counter it. We had a plan A, we stuck to it and it worked at that level. (I appreciate Lee wasn't manager then).

In the championship we need to have more than a plan A. We did so well at the start of the season because in effect we were an unknown, we had decent players and we played a certain way. But there is playing and managerial talent at this level who will find you out and counter your style of playing, and as soon as we were "found out" we started to fail. We had no plan B.

The players are good enough to be at least a top ten team but unfortunately, I do not think Lee has enough Managerial experience to cope with this level at this moment in time.

He'll come good, but I think this job came too early for him.

Why the hell did he offer the contract in the first place? I don't know any fan who thought that was a sensible move at that stage?!!! The first of many strange decisions! Another one was continuing with LJ through the January transfer window when it was apparent months before that the wheels were off and we were derailing badly! Nobody outside of Bristol understands what exactly we are trying to achieve?!!!!

I wonder if sl knew the writing was on the wall and the extension was offered as a personal favour to ensure lj was a bit more financially better off. I like sl and have met him but I think his loyalty is his achilles heel

Let’s take some TIMEOUT to consider the WISPAs ECHOing around the Three LIONs BAR, indicating that SL had taken the CRUNCH decision to sack LJ.

We could be in for some TREETS if we appoint the right man, but lets hope is not that to55er Holloway from BANJO island or that annoying YORKIE Mick McCarthy.

Tomlin is our STAR, BAR none, but he could only raise a RIPPLE of APPLAUSE last night.

So, whilst SL and the board CHEWIT over, I hope the rest of Bristol Sport’s season is KINDER, EGG chasers included.

Good effort but no mention of Freddo

Surely he would not do a text sacking with his protégé Lee. More likely whisk him down to Guernsey in the Chopper, have him sat in a nice fish restaurant overlooking St. Peter Port and apply the coup de grâce over a nice digestif.

And while he is there recommend him for the Guernsey football team coaching job.

Might it be because the players aren't the Peppermint Cream of the crop?  One lucky win and we might Fudge our way though this season, who knows?

For me, the Derby game was key: stunning first half, then the belief went: we had Derby by the Curly-Wurlies, but then we had the half time Time Out and lost our Milky Way.

Stop with these ******* shit puns please, getting really annoying that every thread is hijacked by people desperately trying to be hilarious.

Cor, thats a massive Chomp from you...

He's right though, there's more important matters here like getting rid of LJ and who might be the next manager to join our Club

Chill. There is alot of negativity on this forum at present and understandably so, but no need to get precious over a few puns. We will do them more quietly in future, maybe with a Wispa.

Do we have to turn everything into a word association game?

We really are like kids trying to compete in a man's world.

A bit like our players then.

I agree with you, it's not clever and it's not funny. The problem is how much can you go on about relegation and sacking him?

Anyway I'm thinking of putting a Bounty on Johnson's head if anyone's interested. I'll start with a Dime .......

Hundreds and thousands of City fans know that Johnson's taking us to the next level when half our decent players (although we've all forgotten who they are) will want to leave at bargain basement prices. We'll then spend another few seasons fighting relegation to the fourth tier of English football before someone else takes us up again and we start this whole saga all over again.

We've all heard the story of the old man who died peacefully in his sleep, unlike his passengers...... Well, on this occasion Mr Lansdown we're the passengers and you're the driver and everybody is trying to revive you.

Okay so if we agree that the only way that an owner can make money from football is to be in the Premier League why did we appoint someone as manager with so little track record of achieving anything in management? Huge and unnecessary gamble which is backfiring spectacularly.

The contract extension was the most baffling things I've witnessed since LJ took over.

SL needs to admit he got it wrong and pay the man off for the good of the club.

A lot of people think we had started our losing streak and the side had not been playing well, there were rumblings in the squad/dressing room so the club extended Lees contract as a "we back Lee he's going nowhere" to the players.

That mate, is a very reasonable, fair-minded way of looking at the Johnson situation. All I would add is that if we are apportioning blame about our position in the Championship then most of it has to go to SL for appointing him.

It will not be the crucifixion that Tinman suffered (because Johnson is tougher in some ways) but it is the same scenario of someone being set up by an unwise decision for a massive failure.
