Good day everyone, short and sweet from me today as i am attending a trade fair in Jakarta.

So, here we go again then. Wigan Athletic, the last club to be voted into the Football League in 1978 replacing Southport after a second round of voting.

City today? Who knows? Frankly I am tired, i just feel very tired and unmotivated to write anything meaningful and for that I apologise.

A big salute to the supporters to stick by our club through thick and thin; I wish I was more stoic about the whole affair.

UTC, as always.

That's a long way to go to get an oversized cardboard bag full of marketing tat.

Wigan 2-2 city

We will do our usual away tradition and actually start the game like we need to and go 2 up. After half time all the strikers will be brought off and we will try and 'see the game out' (which won't happen as Johnson has absolutely no idea how to manage a game of football). Wigan will score after the hour and the inevaitable equaliser in the 88th minute.

Relegation.

I can actually see us winning this, maybe after coming from behind, and then going on to pick up a few more points over the next few games.

Laws of averages say we have to win sometime soon. Don't we!!??

I've been desperately hoping the law of averages will kick in too. In fact it's been my main hope. My fear is that we are too crap to enable it to take effect - a bit like if I played 100 games of tennis against Roger Federer I wouldn't win any. Even though City and the teams near the bottom are more evenly matched than that we've not been playing well enough for a very long time.

Terrible set of fixtures for us today if we can do no better than a point; Burton host Forest (draw is rubbish if we can't get three points; either winning is a problem too), Blackburn head to Norwich (the former in decent form, the latter now managerless and apparently sporting a divided dressing room) and Wolves have a visit from Rotherham (so I would suggest a home banker there).

Another weekend where anything other than a win is unlikely to help us at all.  Just hope the players know that (not bothered about the coaching staff; they are just an unfortunate complication now).

I couldn't give a toss. Well that's a lie. I don't expect anything but disappointment. I don't need disappointment in my life so I will go to the cinema. This whole Catch 22 scenario is doing my head in. Can I just wake up on Monday morning to find out City beat Wigan and LJ has been replaced by Fleetwood's manager ?

Lincolns Managers would be better, they may be non league, but look how they have inspired their players in their cup finals. because every game for them in the FA Cup was.  Of course it has affected their league results, but what an achievement for them, such a crying shame LJ can't do the same for our players, but in the League.   I want us to win today and win well so the lads get some confidence back, but unfortunately, just feel it will be another hard slog and if we win it will be by the odd goal, 1 - 0, 2 - 1 and the same if we lose.   Anyway as usual, I will be listening in hope,  but also nervously,  so COYR's dont let us down!

Wigan seem to be eking out just enough 1-0s to give themselves a chance. Difficult to feel positive about any game involving us at the moment.

Will be a selection we barely understand, if down we will start playing some football. Maximum one goal in the game. Who knows.

Totally deflated about today, another year older and being debating going to Wigan today.

Decided not to go, Johnson will play one up front (which I suspect will be Tammy). Johnson will say after we still have Blackburn to play!

Hopefully city will win on my birthday!

Happy birthday. Hope City will make your day.

Not too demanding then; just a win.

Mate it's been so depressing lately. People say it doesn't but it really affects your life sometimes, never felt so deflated following City.

Put all LJ, Lansdown to side for 90 minutes. I just want that result!

I understand and agree with you 100%.

Stranger things have happened, just, and we might win indeed. But once the win has been consumed by us we will all still want him and his other Ineptitudes fired. And we all know that too. Sad indeed.

if I was a betting man my money would go on a 3-0 or 3-1 defeat and Burton to beat Florest 2-1, sorry but I really hope that I am wrong, I dearly want us to win and I dearly want us to hold on to our hard won championship status, but I need some actual physical proof that City are actually capable of staying up and so far I just don't see it.

Proof was there second half vs Norwich. The question is whether Beardy McSmugface has the balls to go for it or if he sets us up to fail to get a 0-0 like he did in the first half.

False dawns.........................................................................................................

Proof was Derby 1st half and then????????????????????????????????????

Proof was Newcastle 1st half and then?????????????????????????????????

So 3 convincing halves of football in 5 months, Jesus it's so depressing that all we have to cling on to at this precise moment is 45 minutes against another shit team on a run comparable to ours but at least they sacked their  manager, excuse me if I don't get too excited.

My point was that the proof is there that we have the quality to, and are capable of staying up. It just comes down to whether or not we/they are given the opportunity to make it happen.

Paterson out injured today, so there is one name we can remove from the tombola.

I like the idea of nick naming LJ tombola.  In addition to his team formation and selection. He's a cheap attempt to win something that usual ends in disappointment.  Or, LJ gives you the same feeling as winning a tin of marrow fat peas. Totally uninspired.

It's too upsetting to discuss City, so I'm only talking about food.

TfJ's Match Day Light Lunch

Avocado and sardine salad:

Ingredients - serves one:-

1 Ripe avocado

1 x tin Sardines in tomato Source

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Freshly milled pepper.

Method:-

Cut avocado in 1/2 around stone, twist fruit to break in two. Remove stone, use a teaspoon to remove soft flesh, place in bowl and mash with fork.

Season with ground pepper to taste.

Place sardine fillets on top.

Finish with juice of 1/2 lemon.

This is truly a simple and delicious light lunch - packed full of protein.

Enjoy.

I think this would work better on bruschetta with maybe a sprinkling of dill.

And my point is to be able to quote or rely on 'your proof', we need sustained proof say like 90 minutes would be a start, be honest pretty much all season we either been OK, good, very good or excellent for the odd 45 minutes and dire for the rest, over 30 + games this actual Norwich 45 minutes is only proof of what we already know, we can sometimes play for 45 minutes and that appears to be our limit, that has to change or we are ****** and I sadly cannot see it changing but hey ho I am always up for being proved wrong especially where BCFC are concerned.

Me I am taking Mrs Bung shopping and having a Guinness or 3, I just cannot bear listening to another commentary where the commentator has to say every 15 minutes, 'City are giving them far too much time on the ball', 'why are City standing off of them?' or 'City are making it just far too easy for their opponents' and the polit bureau's mouthpiece quoting from the BS little red book to piped applause.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Think back to Wigan at home, they were good and winning it was panic, kitchen sink football, them sitting trying to hold a lead that gave us a little more chance to attack and we won. Most teams sit on a lead a little and allow opposition to push on, that's not necessarily down to good play.
What I would like to know is , how do we actually get a lead against good teams (Newcastle,Derby,Sheff W,Reading) and capitulate. Where as against weaker, less potent sides where we might have half a chance of holding out, we never go two or three up....... maybe today?

1-2. Two down at halftime, make some changes, play well miss a few guilt edged chances, score one, run out of time.....cue the post-match bull about needing to play a high tempo game with energy.

I shall include some facts about Wigan to make-up for the weary Mr H.

Among the products to come from Wigan are Heinz baked beans and Armitage Shanks toilets. Says it all really.

While meat pies are the prevalent local diet,  the real Wigan delicacy is Uncle Joe's Mints.  So good no one outside the town has heard of them.

During the 70s, ITN editors made sure every time a story mentioned Wigan on their bulletins it was read by Reginald Bosanquet.

I've never been to Wigan, but visitors from civilization tell me it's potentially Britain's most obese borough.

That does should nice, but you are adding starch with the bruschetta.

As you well know, this will cause a rapid spike in your blood sugar. The idea of the lunch is to be light, and the protein to keep you full until tea time.

The recipe was carefully designed to be easy, filling, and low calorie.

Would the dill add to the dish, considering the sardine and tomato will overpower the dill, and make you look unnecessarily ponsy?
