bearded_red
Incredible stuff this. Bashir was picked for this tour after 10 first class wickets, now already has 12 test wickets.

Northern Red
Such an odd pitch, right from the first session it's gone from unplayable to doing nothing and back again in the space of a few overs.
Markthehorn
India get over the line fairly comfortably although we maybe had them worried for a moment or two .

And Its Smith
This team can’t kill sides off when they get the chance. They can chase a game well though. Mentality not quite where it needs to be.
Markthehorn
Yes needed more runs to protect . Seems like we have one or two bad sessions that really cost us .
TV Tom
We were in control for large parts of this game but once again 1 or 2 sessions kill us

bearded_red
I think the criticism of mentality and throwing games away can certainly apply to the game they lost in New Zealand and the first two of The Ashes. I don’t necessarily buy it for the games on this tour though. I think ultimately England haven’t got the players to beat India in these conditions. The fact they’ve been able to match them for parts of matches and even get themselves ahead deserves real credit in my opinion. Winning test matches is hard though, over five (four) days the likelihood is the better team will end up winning. Jaiswal, Bumrah and in this game the three spinners have all been too good and taken the game away from them at different times, I don’t think there’s any disgrace in that. Shouldn’t be overlooked that while India have the three spinners they have, England this morning were relying on Hartley who will be carrying the drinks for Lancashire next season as they’ve signed Nathan Lyon and Bashir who will likely do the same while Leach plays. (I’d actually pick Bashir over Leach at this point, but that’s a different conversation). India are missing some serious players, but it still shouldn’t be taken for granted how well England have done on this tour just to give them a game in my opinion.
Markthehorn
India just messed up on a review which would have seen Crawley out so hopefully he can take advantage and score really big !
bearded_red
Kuldeep in this series is the most I’ve enjoyed watching a spinner since Warne, absolute genius.

And Its Smith
Lots of ifs and buts from Jimmy yesterday. A lot of ifs and buts over the last 18 months which have been poor for England test team. He says the squad have enjoyed the tour though so that’s nice

Rob k
I’ve not watched any of this test - was it down to bazball and brainless test cricket or good bowling?
bearded_red
Some absolutely lovely Joel Wilson there. Now at the point where he’s openly being laughed at by the players.

Markthehorn
Well least it’s just the cricket that has been troubling! Unlike this tour. Note now long it was too . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/68446964

Most of the top order got themselves in then gave their wicket away You won't beat the top top teams playing Bazball

1960maaan
They could give us their 2nd Innings , as they wont need it , and we would still lose the game. They have a great attack that gets the best from the pitch, and having spinners that can turn it both ways helps. Looks a different pitch when we bat or bowl on it.
TonyTonyTony
We are going to get done by an innings + here.
