If he can get to 10 by January I wouldn't be surprised if we were receiving some tempting offers.

Maybe, but I doubt the offers would be in the region you're suggesting for an almost 25 year old with 4 month very impressive spell in a 6-7 season career.

He's got to prove it's not a freak run - if he carries on scoring regularly ( say 16-18 this season) and carries on with a few next August, then we may well see a big offer at the end of that window.

I doubt any club would risk it before then, but this is football and there are desperate clubs with masses of cash around, so you never know.

Interesting to see how City value him - I'm assuming the offers LJ said we received in August were not very big.

Hard to see from the Sky clips, was Flint at fault for any of the goals? Looked as though he lost his man a couple of times which lead to the goals, although not 100% sure it was him.

Looked like he went for the ball too early and left the wolves player free for their 3rd. Only saw one replay though.

The 1st goal Bryan got caught out too far upfield and never got back and that left us light at the back, 2nd goal Flint was taken out by flick on and for the 3rd Wright for me was out of position and marking thin air leaving Smith exposed.

Its not me that needs to settle down if you read the posts.

A very young team, maybe someone could work out their average age and it might be surprising. We still have to bed in a few players but maybe, just maybe with the players we got in last year plus the couple of longstanding ones we might have the makings of a gelled close group last seen in our promotion season.

Just to be clear I am not taking about promotion but having that squad bond that takes teams forward..

Well. It's not often you're winning with 5 to play, end up drawing and consider it an excellent point.

The performance wasn't amazing but it was alright. it was gutsy, and Wolves will feel disappointed with a point.

Bobby looks a really good player. Every attacking move seems to start with Korey - who I thought had a good game. Joe had a good first half, less so in the second.

The penalty was given when we were all celebrating a corner, but a Wolves fan on the train with me now seems to think it was a pen.

Wolves going forwards will be as good as anyone in this league and this really is an excellent point, not many will come away from there with anything at all.

Well done City. Gutsy, if not brilliant.

You are correct but in midfield they were no better than us and that is not something we can often say and defensively they look nervous.

it's the first in a long time we have played in an intimidating atmosphere and not folded, I don't think anyone can say that we were intimidated by Wolves as a team or the atmosphere.

I actually believe that we deserved the point, my only problem is conceding 2 goals from corners is poor and needs working on.

As i said before, can't see how his form can dip with his new role, only if his energy levels dip, and that's not going to happen, he can only get better imo.

I'm sorry... are we suggesting the header that Wright won in our box and then was completely smashed by their forward was in some way something other than a clear foul and yellow card in our favour!?

i really couldn't believe that Wolves fans dared to complain!

I agree but it's typical of supporters of teams that have a 'history' they feel that they have entitlement and also as a team Wolves bitched about every single decision.

His energy levels are impressive, far better than at any time previously in his career.

Whether he can keep that up or not we simply don't know.

Time will tell.

Sounds like it was a fantastic game. 4 points from two tricky away games is a good return.

Really good , noticed Derby pretty much fielded second eleven at Barnsley in EFL cup, so recovery vital for Weekends game ,  but yes come on let's see a big crowd behind the lads on Saturday

3 full days rest and a bit of light training and tactical set ups for Saturday shouldn't put us at too much of a disadvantage against Derby

Blimey - having a nose at their forum - They've got all Billy Big B*****+**x syndrome suddenly , because some Chinese bloke is splashing the cash

A lot seem to think it was a travesty they didn't win by 8 or 9

bell ends

We gave as good as we got. Had a huge slice of luck when matey clattered the crossbar and minutes later their bloke was not quick enough to react in front of goal and missed the target, but we looked threatening every time we were in their half and that quick touch football made us look impressive tonight.

Young Bobby poached another, Flinty got another, Bailey Wright started and Diedihou (god I hate spelling that) got his goal. Taylor had nice touches in his cameo too

Great result...Sets up Saturday. In short we got what we deserved at a minimum!...

As you say Bellends!

Indeed. I've been working at New Cross hospital up there today and, to  man, they assumed they were gonna batter us.

I did remind them it was City they were playing and not the crap from the swamp, the battering is next week! ;)

That 2nd half was as crazy a game of football I've witnessed in a long time.

Whilst we battled well, make no mistake, we got lucky tonight. Outplayed thoroughly in the 1st half. 2nd half was pure madness. Every time we made a mistake in the middle or in their half they attacked so quickly and piled crosses in. We rode out luck massively at times.

Was actually stunning when we took the lead. I was actually laughing more than screaming when we scored. It was that unbelievable that we went ahead.

What surprised me the most was at 3-3 I'm thinking "hold on. A point here is great", and then I see Korey of all people bursting forward and vacating the midfield at every opportunity. We wanted the 3 points even though we rode our luck so much.

Crazy half of football. Whilst outplayed and terribly fortunate, we did actually deserve the point through our tenacity, energy and desire.

A superb pulsating game, with no quarter asked or given, and both teams going all out for the win. We rode our luck at times, but we looked dangerous every time we came forward and deserved our point for our bravery. Every player put in a real shift tonight; but I would like to pick out Josh Brownhill who improves with every game, and Bobby Reid, where does he get that energy guy from?

Was a great read chaps over my porridge this morning until that 3rd Wolves goal. Seems we need to cut out those corner defending errors. A valiant effort but what a pity we could not lay the voodoo of 1931 .

I think we did exceptionally well in defence considering we had no established right back and a reshuffled defence .

For their first goal there was no one in that position to block out the danger .

Their right winger was outstanding and run our defence ragged  in addition to firing in corners low, fast and powerful which needed just a nick or the slightest of touches to go in but we stood firm.

We have become dogged and confident . The signs are good.

Agreed Major,  why can't our corner takers do the same?   Watch and learn,  I say.

Really happy with this result - although like many was desperately hoping we could hold on for a surprise win...

We're looking pretty solid at the back (first time in ages?!) and got competition for most positions (particularly the CBs) and looking creative in attack.

If anyone ever asks I'll still say I'll be happy with a mid-table end to the season, but recently I've actually started to feel that's possible - and maybe we could even sneak a bit better

Fair dinkum.

I thought we had 2 players for each position on the park?

Why not ? basic error?

LJ could ,and perhaps should , have played Vyner at right back however he tweaked the formation and I believe that most thought that Zak would struggle with two high intensity matches in quick succession.

Not just a case of 2 players for each spot, in this case playing BW at RB meant they could switch to a 3 without making a sub. Vyner may have been ok , but with a more attack minded player in front of him it may have been a big ask. BW would have been a more defensive option to start with, but as I said it's an easier switch to a3 which I believe they did fairly early on.
Still one of LJ's biggest fans, but you have to give credit where due, seems to have learnt a lot from last year, even from earlier this year.
