Guest Tins4Gaffer
Brian Tinnion (1984-1989) "Brian came through the junior ranks as big a prospect as Paul Gascoigne, he pocessed a talented left foot that allowed him to express himself. Clearly had ability having scored a number of spectacular goals in the youth teams. Skippered the FA Youth Cup winning side in 1985, Willie McFaul signed him professional in 1986, he made his debut against Everton in 1987, he scored two goals for the club (against Charlton and Watford). Brian established himself as first choice on the left flank, having switched from left-wing to left-back his form earned him a call-up to the England U-21 squad but he unfortunately missed a trip of Toulon in 1988 through illness. Despite being a quality crosser of the ball, Jim Smith felt his lack of experience was a weaklink in the team as the battle to fight off relegation from the top flight increased. Too many defensive mistakes cost him his place at left-back, not enough pace to play left-wing, a weak right foot prevented him playing inside. Since leaving the Magpies he has been a key figure on the left side for both Bradford City and Bristol City, a major under-achiever in the game who is a major threat in terms of assists, whether it be from open play or a set-piece." http://www.eclient.empics.com/start.php?uN...Page&urn=577777
