Speaking of cup news, the FA Cup game against Southampton will now take place at St Mary's!

Tickets now available, only being £3 for adults. Block 5 Row L is mostly available, so I've booked a few for me and my friends. Hoping many other City fans who'd be interested would love to join us!

I'm guessing that I don't but as a football season ticket holder do I qualify for any discount buying womens tickets?

My sister and niece are interested in going to the Liverpool game so was going to look into getting us tickets

I know that men's team season card ticket holders were emailed a discount code that could be used for the last Ashton Gate game back in November. I didn't receive one as I'm not a men's team season card holder (but am a women's team season card holder), but hopefully you'd receive an email a month or so before

Leicester City are playing Manchester City in their rearranged Conti Cup group game which kicks off at 7pm. One of these teams (or Charlton Athletic) will host City next week in the quarter finals.

Game is live on FA Player. One of tonight's commentators has explained, in a way, how he sees who could progress...

Manchester City currently leading 5-0.

Let's hope we're not on the end of a hiding and knocks the spirit out of the side

Exactly. It seems that bad spell they had in the first half of the season seems to be gone, plus they have some key players back from injury such as Lucy Bronze & Steph Houghton.
They scored six goals without response against Brighton last Sunday too ?

Conti Cup quarter final away at Man City confirmed to take place on Wednesday January 19th, KO 7pm. Tickets only £6 for adults

If I can get work off, I am seriously tempted to drive up & back for the game, but would want someone to split the petrol cost with me ?

None of my Vixencast co-hosts would be available to attend, so am hopeful I know someone Bristol-based who'd also be interested!

Squad for today's game, away to Blackburn.

KO 2pm, and not being streamed anywhere. I couldn't make it as I had my delayed booster jab today, but Vixencast co-hosts D-M & Nat are there, and said to provide live updates on www.twitter.com/bcvixencast

Blackburn lost heavily 6-0 to Liverpool last week, if this helps.

With the progress that the Womens team are making (and the rather good football), the game against the leaders Liverpool will no doubt exceed the 3,000 by some

Liverpool's win today still leaves them top of the table. City now have 20 points but still fifth in the table. Next league game is next Sunday against Charlton, who are 6th and also have 20 points, but have played a game more.

This wasn't in the highlights, or probably not in the game replay that's now on the FA Player, but Sophie Baggaley was in attendance on Sunday. D-M & Nat said they spoke to her at the game, and she said she was enjoying her time at Man Utd (where she's second choice under Mary Earps, but the team are doing a lot better than City this time last year in the WSL)

Don't usually pay much attention to comments by the manager/head coach of upcoming opposition, but it was interesting to see what Gareth Taylor had to say about Bristol City.

https://www.mancity.com/news/womens/gareth-taylor-bristol-city-continental-cup-team-news-63778113

City head into the midweek clash in excellent form, having won our last five on the bounce. Although his side hold home advantage against Championship opposition, Taylor expects no drop in standards against last season’s finalists, with City setting sights on a fourth success in the competition.

“We’ve monitored them and kept an eye,” he continued. “They had a good win at the weekend and are in a false position in their league." [I assume he means he expects the team to be higher up]

“They’ve got good physicality in their team, won their group in Conti Cup qualification so they’re certainly not a team to be underestimated and we won’t be doing that.

They’re still full-time and obviously going to be there or thereabouts. There’s not a huge gap. They were in the league last season, they got to a final which nobody would have predicted.

“I know there’s been a lot of changes but like I say: they’re a very aggressive team. We expect it to be a really tough game.

“[Bristol manager Lauren Smith] has adapted well to it. Sometimes when you make a lot of changes you never know how it’ll go – sometimes you might get short term but sometimes you have to wait longer.

“They’re aggressive, they take the game to teams. We studied that against Reading when they played them in the cup. Albeit teams change in the cup, they’ll provide a tough opposition and there’s a reason they’re in the quarter-finals."

Highlights now available. I'd have shared the YouTube link but for some reason, Man City haven't uploaded it in HD.

Also, I left Manchester just before 10pm (game finished before 9pm but I stayed for a but afterwards, had something to eat, and needed to find petrol first). Didn't get home until after 1am!

https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/davies-signs-deal-with-city-women/

News today that Gwen Davies signed her first (professional) contract with the club, and remains until the end of the season, with an option of a year extension after that.
Didn't realise that when she first joined over the summer from the Welsh leagues, it was on a non-contract basis - this may explain why she wasn't initially announced at the time.

Seems a bit odd to me, there's only 14 weeks left of the season

Contracts for the second half of the season are somewhat common in women's football.

Happened to Sophie Whitehouse when she joined Birmingham for the second half of last season. And Faye Bryson (now at Reading) was initially offered a similar contract, before being offered a longer contract

Yes, very poor first half HOWEVER we are generally an awful lot better in the second half (fingers crossed)

2-0 down now, and we look very poor. Charlton attacker just laid a sly boot into Fran Bentley. Probably the type of player Steve Morison is after.

Charlton doing the double over us. New RHPC attendance of 956 set. About to record Vixencast to talk about the three games played over the last seven days

Evening @shahanshahan - would you mind explaining what the ‘her game too’ initiative is about? I see the club are officially endorsing it

Watched around 30 minutes in 1st and 2nd half.

Had dipped in to a few bits of games during the season where we appeared to be ok and improving. However, this was just primary school stuff. Fitness and physicality, skill and the other basics all sub-standard. Frankly, just dire.

I only watched first half (as much as I could take), like you say dreadful performance.

We looked very leggy today….wonder whether chasing the ball around for 90 mins v Man City in midweek in the cup, took it out of us.  Murray is normally a rock yet she made 3 or 4 mistakes first half.

Charlton by far the better side, physical, strong runners, and it felt a bit women v girls…not forgetting how young our side is.  They were very cynical with their time wasting, like an Alex Neil PNE team, but no complaints re result.

It`s an initiative to make female fans feel more welcome at games, rather than them having to endure the `get yer **** out for the lads` mentality that still exists in some places.

I think there`s a lot more to it than that though.

How courteous of you! I think @Lanterne Rouge explained it well enough, but yes, it's to stop sexism in football & make women that attend football games and/or talk about them feel comfortable about it without worry of being discriminated against.

On the club website, Leah Case & Eve Ralph (two of the co-founders that are City fans) did a Q&A which explains it all in their own words

https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/q-a-her-game-too-founders-leah-case-and-eve-ralph/

The Supporters Club & Trust did announce their support of HGT long before BCFC announced their partnership

Thanks both, seen it discussed on the official Twitter but missed the halftime stuff yesterday. Thanks for the info.

Have to say the better team won this afternoon. Charlton looked a touch sharper, faster, keener and were more organised than City. It may well have been fatigue after the midweek game but there was a distinct lack of spark. I trust the injuries will be minor.

Charlton seemed to have done their homework on us and strangled the movement from midfield to the front. When they got a chance they took it, whereas I don't recall their keeper having to do too much.

It was good to see fans around the sides of the ground as well - shame that the big crowd didn't have much to cheer.

Sadly that's this season done in regards of getting back to the WSL

Possibly, however we have two games yet to be played - the postponed away game against London City Lionesses, and the home game against Coventry United; which looks like can be played now that the team were saved. If we get six points out of those games, that would be a real boost

London City is a must win, but can't see enough teams taking points off Liverpool, which is a shame as was hoping the game at Ashton Gate was going to be a title decider

Liverpool have three games in March, against Charlton, London City & Durham. Who knows if any of those teams can take points off Liverpool...

Looks like this was something else (for now). Transfer window closed at 5pm, and neither club has announced anything...
