Aimee Palmer was the featured guest on last night's Sound of the City with Geoff Twentyman. Decent interview that lasted the first half of the show, and there was also a shout out for the coach arranged for supporters to attend the away game at Charlton at the end of the month, which I'm pleased about...

This may be a silly question, but I thought it the best place to ask, how does the season ticket card work? Do I just show the card instead of a printed ticket, when entering hpc?  And is that the same for games at Ashton gate or is there something different?

Season cards are normally checked visually at the HPC by a steward at the entrance. Games at AG will require the owner to obtain a ticket (at no extra cost for League/Conti group games) beforehand. Card holders will naturally have the pick of the best Lansdown seats - ones with padding!

Hi @rilex, I've removed your question from the Q&A section as it has been answered above

First time watching the women's at the HPC (watched 1 at AG last season). Really enjoyed it. Lots of skill, solid commitment and we looked fantastic. Should certainly have been more. We hit the bar, had 2 disallowed, saw 3 point blank saves and had an unbelievable goal-line clearance just before HT.

Another quality performance by the girls! Really impressed with the dynamic way the team transitions from defence to attack. At the heart of that is Aimee Palmer, who was instrumental in most of City's work today. When the opposition run out of ideas, she will be closest to the back line and demanding the ball off them. Once in possession it's either laid off quickly of she will use the space to push up the field. The front players know that and are looking for a killer ball. Those front players have all the talent, pace and hunger to get a shot away most of the time. Emma Symes was a key midfielder tidying up loose passes and springing forward - and hit another sweet strike from the edge of the box low into the corner. It was a constant theme today that Palace were unable to make much progress and City were going forward in waves.

Hayles is beginning to shine, holding up the ball or bursting into the box, causing headaches for the defenders. Harrison is clearly a level above and can operate in several roles. Out wide, Morgan's pace worries everyone and that helps to stretch the back line across the pitch. These players are difficult to deal with, and opponents have to be worried.

Defensively, City were not really pressured much, as we had a big advantage with possession. However, when needs arose Naomi Layzell was superb in cutting out movements and making some crunching tackles. I am beginning to liken her to Leah Williamson in that she has a calmness about her, going about her job smoothly. Quite a talent at only 18 years old.

The score does not really do justice to the domination. I lost count of the number of times we had a clear shot and invariably hit Palace keeper Kitching squarely. Had she not had a charmer of a game the score might well have hit double figures. Palmer also smacked the bar with a free-kick from outside the box. All in all, another very impressive display by a side that has all the ingredients and is sitting on top of the league thus far. Good to see over 600 at the HPC despite the wet weather too!

Haven’t seen anything but highlights this season, but palmer’s injury at the back end of last season was a huge loss.  Glad to hear she’s back playing well.

Yes, Palms is an all-action sort of player. After that nasty injury it would be understandable if she was a little reticent in making any solid contact, but she loves a cruncher! Clearly no flashbacks or fear about injuries at all.

Looked at the match report & saw that I ended up in one of the photos in the gallery

No sign of the drum though!

It's not tall enough to be in the photo! I was near it so I definitely heard it yesterday ?

I was dog walking near enough the ground to hear the drum. After the cheering there was about a 4 minute time lag before the goals got onto my Twitter feed.

Just watched the highlights. Shocking defending from CP, especially in the first half.

I am only going by the highlights, but I was shocked at the difference in fitness and athleticism between the two teams, I am wondering who Palace had beaten up to that point to be 4th in the table.

It looked like a men's FA Cup game between a Prem side and a team from National League South.

Palace have been on a bit of a blip recently, having lost 2-0 to Sunderland a week before, and of course losing 4-0 to City in the Conti Cup (when both teams had a changed side).
I appeared on a Palace fan podcast to preview the game from a City perspective, and even the Palace fans I was chatting with weren't too optimistic.
Fair play to the fan(s) who brought loads of flags with them...

Gap at the top of the table reduced. Southampton FC beat Coventry United 3-0 tonight & move up to second.
The game was meant to take place this Sunday but got rescheduled as St Mary's was no longer available due to the men's team having a fixture moved to the Sunday instead.

Hopefully the gap will return to five points after City get a win at Lewes...

Has anyone managed to get the "Her Game Too" discount to work for tickets this Sunday?

I get an error message when inputting the code

Hope people all managed to sort out discount codes in the end. As a City Women season ticket holder, I didn't need one

Oh that's a shame. I'm surprised Supporter Services couldn't sort it out for you & the group...

Looks like there'll be some Birmingham fans in attendance on Sunday. Not sure how many, but it seems they'll be all sat together...

Hopefully those City fans that want to sit together to create an atmosphere have got things sorted for Sunday ?

Yep, I hope so too. I know I booked my same seat in the same place I did for the Southampton game.

Also, have seen there's a supporter meet up planned for 2pm...

1-0 defeat. 3 week layoff did us no favours. A number of players well off their game.

I thought I'd leave it for someone else to comment on first, but let's just say at half-time I texted my brother and told him to lump it on Brum (all £5 of it). Maybe worth a point today - Hayles looked decent in the first half.

Edit: Announcer clearly not a footy fan: Half-time score described as 'zero-zero'.

Really disappointing to lose the unbeaten run today. For the first half hour or so we were all over Brum and dictating the play. Every loose ball or 50-50 went our way and we kept the pressure on. It just needed a goal when on top to secure things but the chances were a touch scarce. Gradually, Birmingham got into the game and started to close down a lot of movement. Give them credit but they slowly squeezed us out.

We started the second half started like we finished the first - on the back foot. Whilst trying to move upfield we were caught by a ball wide when Cataldo and Powell were out of position. In fairness it was a good sweeping move that got us at the far post. Sadly, we didn't really have the neccessary to respond immediately. After 67 minutes we took off Layzell (injured?) and Palmer (who was fading from the game), which seemed a little risky at the time. Hayles was also taken off again - hope that injury will go away. However, we managed to get some momentum as the time ran out. Two strikes against the woodwork and a couple of scrambles in the Birmingham box were the limit today. Disappointing for the 3,000 in attendance; we now have four wins from four at the HPC, but only one point from two games at the Gate.

Saw a few players (especially Harrison) who looked lame at the end. She had a strange game, starting up front then dropping into the middle when Palmer went off and occasionally turning up at right back.

Hopefully the injured will be fit for the trip to Charlton in the Conti next Sunday.

I noticed that! Don't think it's someone that usually works at the club/Ashton Gate. Downsy is in Qatar & Toby Osborne is in Dubai (according to his Instagram stories, anyway)

Was some guy with a beard & long hair. Looked a bit like Joe Wicks but in a baggy City coat

Disappointing afternoon yesterday. Team didn't seem like themselves at times, as mentioned above by others. Also, London City Lionesses won yesterday, who now top the table by a point - although Bristol City have played a game less.

Also, London City's win was at Sheffield United - and that game broke the Championship attendance record set by Ashton Gate at the Liverpool game last season...

Pretty impressive stuff. Never say never, but I'd be amazed if City ever get that at this level.
