City U21 in action today for the first time at the RHPC - against Liverpool U21. Club Twitter providing live updates. Haven't seen the club do that before!

Recognisable names are Teisar & Foley in goal, who made one sub appearance last season.

As expected, some changes made for the Conti Cup group game against Charlton Athletic.

Clark starts in goal, Greenslade starts for the first time this season. Wilde back in starting XI, as is Boddy.

Game kicks off at 2pm. No livestream anywhere so there'd be live Twitter updates to follow...

City lose 2-1 to Charlton. Ex-loanee Kiera Skeels scored twice, and Abi Harrison came on as a sub to score in injury time.

With Lewes beating Crystal Palace 4-1, City are no longer top in Group D.

Final group game in the Conti Cup is away to Lewes on Friday 16 December

Sticking with all things cup related, City are in tonight's draw for the Women's FA Cup - ball number 1 in the South section. Games to be played on the weekend of 11th December

Draw just happened. City at home to Southampton. Considering City's remaining games in 2022 are all away, at least this means that there's now a home game.

League game away to Lewes had been rescheduled for...Tuesday 10th January at...6pm.

As well as the random kick off/date time (making it harder for any away supporters to get to), it'll now be the second of two consecutive games at the Dripping Pan - the Conti Cup group game is on Friday 16th December, and is the last game of 2022.

Yep, there is a transfer window in January.

London City Lionesses & Southampton playing this afternoon, by the way...

Then you would think for loose change, compared to the men's game, SL could finance a quality signing to get them back on track. Creative midfielder perhaps?

@old_eastender we did sign a creative midfielder this summer in Emily Syme. I can't comment on today's game until I see the highlights (which would be out tomorrow), but it's a bit worrying when there hasn't been a win since the Charlton game at the end of October

The problem today was that Palmer had a poor game and we lacked any muscle in midfield leaving Syme on her own. At the start of the season, we were winning the 50/50s. Not so much today. Felt a bit lightweight with the wind and rain not helping.

I haven't seen the full game back on FA Player, highlights are below.

Will be interesting to see if/what changes are made against Southampton this Sunday in the FA Cup...

Pity. Was one of the early top players at a time when the women's game barely had a pulse. Wand of a right foot.

Pretty sure she and another player featured in a documentary donkeys years ago about two female players going to play abroad.  Anyone confirm?

The home game with London City Lionesses in January has been selected for live FA Player coverage.

The rescheduled Lewes v Bristol City game on Tuesday 10th January should have also been considered...

Do they show midweek Championship games?

A foggy and chilly HPC but no problem for the girls. A solid performance all round, with increasing dominance in the second half, resulting in the win and into the hat for the next draw. Without Ffion Morgan to open up the wing, there was a chance to move the ball through other channels; Emma Symes was able to power through the middle on several occasions. Meanwhile the defence was lead by Layzell and kept the visitors to a few sporadic shots; Bentley did what was needed when needed. Shania Hayles pounced first on a loose ball at the back to score the first and Symes wafted a twenty-yarder into the top corner

Good to see Brook Aspin doing some drills with the squad too.

What was Symes’s free-kick like?

I didn't notice at the time but Ffion Morgan, Chloe Mustaki, Vicky Bruce & Tianna Teisar were all missing due to injury-related issues.

Southampton had a lot of players missing due to a flu bug that's apparently gone round the team, according to a Saints supporter I know who was informed by someone from that club

City are ball number 24 in tonight's FA Cup fourth round draw, being livestreamed on the FA Player & WSL/Championship Twitter accountsFjyXwZnXkAMmiVM?format=jpg&name=large

Drawn at home against National League side Oxford United. Hoping that goes better than the last time City faced a National League side in the fourth round (when they lost to Southampton in extra time)

That'll be three home games on the spin, then: Coventry, London City and Oxford in the Cup. Busy month for the girls - hope the injuries don't mount.

Just realised that on the week of the FA Cup game is the Conti Cup quarter finals. Should City get through (they're currently second in the group), that'll be an extra time.

I remember last January where the home game against Coventry was postponed due to that club's situation, and then there was a bad form of run after losing to Man City in the Conti Cup (probably expected) & Southampton a few days later in the FA Cup

City's Conti Cup group game away at Lewes this Friday will be live on the FA Player. Good news for those that couldn't make it in person - I can't watch it live as I'm out for my work Xmas party that night...

This fixture has now been reversed due to the frozen pitch at Lewes.(Must have been that blooming dripping pan all this time!).

Presumably a 7pm kickoff.

6pm, subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow morning.

The fixture is included in Season Tickets, and as far as I'm aware, still on FA Player

Another supporter I know has asked me about this elsewhere. I could if someone gave me a lift, but I'd have to leave early to get to town in time for 7.30. Don't fancy driving on my work night out ?

I'd happily give you a lift but (a) I obviously have to stay till the bitter end and (b) it will cost me £9 to get my jalopy into town.

If the game is declared on a 6:00 kick-off may well be too early for a lot of potential supporters, what with schools and rush-hour traffic. And the Four Wheel Poll Tax, Clean Air Zone. Might not be a big crowd.

I will be there if it goes ahead, skirting around the fringes to avoid the £9 hit.

Match postponed. Presumably now back to the dripping pan at some point. Does this take priority over our planned visit in January.

I could see it played on Saturday 7th, as there are some rescheduled games that weekend anyway. Will definitely have to be played before the Conti Cup quarter finals at the end of January

I note former player Sophie Ingle has been made an OBE for services to football. Bravo!

Great news! One of the few centurions in Welsh football, recently signed a new contract at Chelsea

I never got to see her play when she was at Bristol Academy (as it was back then), although I did get a chance to bump into her at the England v Spain quarter final in Brighton last summer. Had a nice chat & somewhat humorous photo that involved her friend...

Really? Do the men train at the Bears' centre too? Why is there a need to 'share' facilities at our state-of-the-art facilities?

With both training grounds less than a mile apart, it made sense to not duplicate some specialised assets possibly just to save on cost. Especially if the asset would not be in continual use.

Gracie Pearse signed on loan from Spurs until end of season. Central defender. Presumably one more to come in according to Lauren's interview.

Seems like a good signing. Don't know much other than she's also played for Crystal Palace.

I probably should have followed up when asking about any business in the transfer window ?

Will be interesting to see how Pearse fits in the current set-up
