Bristol City Women

In case people don't realise; next two City Women games live (for free) on FA Player - that's the big clash with London City tomorrow 2pm and Southampton away next Sunday.

When City played London City at home the girls tried playing our usual play it out from the back stuff - but London City were too good on the high press and we hardly got out of our own half in the first 45 mins. 2nd half went more direct and the goals followed. Hopefully that is not forgotten for tomorrow.

Also London City I believe without arguably their most influential player in Lily Agg, as she got a straight red for an off-the-ball incident in their last match. So that should help!

A good read for anyone who doubts just how much Nigel Pearson has bought into the football club as a whole.

The interview was carried out by BBC Sport journalist Beth Fisher, who by coincidence is Anita Asante's now-wife.

You can forgive her for referring to the club as "Bristol" but in women's football this is somewhat common due to the team formerly being Bristol Academy

On that subject, here is a rather nice article, with their happy news beautifully and amusingly presented.

I didn’t know that, but that makes sense from some of her tweets last year when two blokes tried to hassle them both in a pub…and were not happy that the two girls weren’t interested in their advances.

FT 2-0, London City by far the better team. I'd go as far as saying on this showing they had 4 or 5 players who looked a level above ours.

Their keeper made several really good claims from crosses, but I don't think had a shot to save such was their dominance.

We still have a 3 point advantage but will have to play an awful lot better than today over the the last 5 games to keep it.

London City by far the better team (only saw the 2nd half). Yes, we hold a three point advantage but goal difference has now swung in favour of LC. Difficult games to come against Southampton (a) and Charlton (h). Could be in for a nail biting finish to the season.

Makes this Sunday's game to Southampton even more important. They lost 1-0 to Durham yesterday...

Also, for those that hadn't seen, the team that beat City in the previous round; Man City; lost to Aston Villa 2-1 AET in the Women's FA Cup quarter final last night.

I have noticed that for the women's match reports, they don't seem to include "Women" or "Ladies" when referring to respective teams.
But then for the academy teams, they do refer to them as such...

There's not an away section but I know City supporters mentioned elsewhere about buying in the same area of the ground

@shahanshahan will be best to advise you

Just move seats on the day I can't imagine it will be that busy

Hi @Roadrunner

sorry, just seen your messages as I haven't been on OTIB in a few days.

The three rows we advised supporters to book in were Rows Q, R or S in Block 11 - but they have all sold out.

Coach tickets are still available until Friday 4pm. You can get yours here if you haven't done so already. Leaves Ashton Gate at 9:30am

more details:

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

hI shahanshahan, thanks for the message, . I am in Block 11 but row W. I live in Southampton and went down to the ground on Monday asking if they had a away section but was told no. I did ask at the Man City game at our ticket off ice if they could sell be tickets for the game, but they said no. Any way i will be there  and hope to see you there and hope for three points.

Ah, I see. Yes, designated away sections is something fairly new in the women's game, more common in the WSL. For other leagues, it's up to supporter groups to arrange/suggest.

Not sure if you have access to OTIB on your phone @Roadrunner but I shall see if I can contact you on the day. Hopefully see you Sunday!

Durham 3 -0 up v London City

This division has several teams that can beat anyone on their day, and Durham can certainly perform as we know. Fine margins, etc.

If London City lose again it will seen as a sign they might be getting twitchy as the season closes. Time for strong but composed hearts today.

Thank you mate. I’ll be tuned in.
Would be amazing to take advantage of the London City result… a draw wouldn’t be a horrendous result on the road.

Only drop in now and again with the women’s football so caveat comments with that, but our right side looks excellent; pacy, strong with skill and composure, Morgan truly outstanding. The left, however, looks the opposite  - really vulnerable and weak in the extreme.

A few players looking like they’re running in treacle, notably at the front with the attackers needing to be more front foot and alive, some alarming space and time too for the opposition in our own box.

Far from over, but if we can grab another early in the second half, hopefully we can grab the 3 points.

Wow. Fair play to the saints striker there. I thought that was a nailed on pen. Hanging on here.

Great save by bentley

Post, and mishit shot that looked like it was an easy finish, for us to claim a 1-0 win. Phew.

Sounds we needed to defend really well at the end, but a massive result - especially when our nearest rivals stumble. Can't put a price on that at this time of the season. Four matches remaining; win the first three and it's all over.

Crazy game really, terribly nervous 2nd half performance by our girls, littered with misplaced passes and terrible decision making. So lucky not to have lost the game really, fantastic saves from Bentley. Only Furness showed any composure on the ball.

Still 0-1 and a 6 point cushion after London City's surprise defeat at Durham. Just 4 games to go now.

What a strike too

Playing some really good stuff. Furness pulling at the strings, and Hayles finding good space in the channels.

For those that hadn't seen it...
